ummm a lot of people in my school are anime fans. We have an anime club too. I think anime sucks anus, anyone share my opinion?

how could one hate anime.THats like saying you hate movies,its the same,but animated.Theres somthing for everyone,comody,romance,fighting,ectect.Anime can't be all mushed together because there are so many generas.Your either a complete idiot,or you haven't foundd the anime that satisflys your specific needs,because its always out there.

Everyone has their own type of anime they prefer to watch, none are crappy, nor the best ever. Those are just our complete opinions, but if this person dislikes anime then it is his problem. And if he's going to be immature enough to voice it out in an anime forum then well, that just shows us how smart he is.

What in the hell is the point of this thread? All it has proven to me is that people that watch and like anime are more intelligent, well their the only ones to show any valid points in this argu- i mean discussion. So you dont like anime? Dont watch it, dont talk about it, dont stir up trouble that revolves around that freaking topic. You're entitled to your opinions, of course, but I think my method of dealing with things I don't like works better.

i just have a question, why is anime considered stupid or childish? everyone says it's basically cartoons. but, if you think about it, anime's totally different. it's animated, but most have hidden meanings, etc and it's really for adults or mature humans.

now, i must also ask about animated films, including computer animated. matrix, good example. look how many people like the matrix, but a lot of it is computer graphics, which is a sort of animation. so, i must ask, why is it ok to like matrix, but it's stupid or immature to watch anime?

i totally respect if people don't like anime, but explain to me why.

And alot of people dont make fun of people that watch Fairly Odd Parents etc etc, yet they make fun of us for watching something completely different.

nt necessaraly,not in japan anyway.,..thats just what we see here in america.Anime isn't generally aimed at anyone.Theres alot of Hentai(playboy addicts*cough cough*)Josei(ladies manga)...your typical shounen and shoujo,and so forth.You can't really say its aimed at teenage boys,because in the US,unless your a non "network" fan,all you really know s DBZ and shit...

Anime itself isn't aimed at anyone, no, but any given anime is. You just named the groups: shounen (teenage boys), shoujo (girls), and so forth. I am going to guess that the two most popular groups are in fact shounen and shoujo, both of which are aimed at teenage audiences--I think a lot of people who gush about how "mature" manga is forget this.

Simple. America and Europe can't get over the fact that they think cartoons are just for kids. So they only show kid anime like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh. The good stuff gets shunted to one side or put on so late only the undead are awake to watch it. (Oh yeah and it's easier to merchindise stuff like Pokemon, but that's got nothing to do with it )

i don't understand how you cannot like anime please it is really good the art work put into it, i think chobits are really cute that is what anime is all about i think ppl can agree with me on that

The drawings in Anime are very cool and genius. I like the interesting contast of colours and the way the characters are portrayed. So I think Anime's pretty cool.

As going back to topic I like anime very much but I dis-like some of their shows as they can get very confusing at some points, but my favourites are Pokemon, Digimon and DragonBall Z. You may think that it's weird for a girl to like DragonBall Z but I know lots of girls that like it. Well I don't like it so much any more........

Okay everyone! I been reading some negative attitudes regarding anime. But please, for those people who don't like anime try to give reasonable arguments why you think anime sucks.

All of you are entitled to an opinion. But if I keep reading posts that only say "Anime sucks" and there is no argument. I will those posts.

Also if I catch any member bashing or personal attacks I will issue warnings and close this thread.

I SAY...the broadcasting companies make individual channels for each different genre! like scifi and action and anime network
then, when you get dish or cable, you get to choose your package and get what you want

I completely agree.... the best anime i get with DirecTV is .Hack: Legend Of the Twilight Bracelette...... every other cable or satelite has things like the International Channel and Anime Network

what dish company do you have? I've got dish network and with my package (the second from the cheapest) the only channels I get with anime are Cartoon Network and ... that's it!
G4 plays anime. Obviously, Anime Network, International Channel, the Action Channel...what else?
