Powers: Dazzler can transform sound into any form of light. Her arsenal includes strobe blasts, solid photon blasts, and lasers. Once a professional disco singer, she was one of the first mutants to go public with her powers, a move which essentially ended her career. Ali didn't join the X-Men when first approached, but went a head with a movie on her life that brought many anti-mutant feelings to the surface. She was also the target of Rogue, who at the time was part of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Alison went into hiding in Lila Cheney's band as a backup singer, but her soloist experience and nature made that difficult. Ali finally joined the X-Men after she was possessed by Malice and realized that she could either fight evil or be its victim. She had a bit of a tough time dealing with Rogue, her former nemesis, especialy after a love triangle developed between the two of them and Longshot. When the team entered the Siege Perilous to escape the Reavers, Dazz found herself at Lila's Malibu beachhouse, amnesiac, but still in command of her powers. Stalked by a psychotic fan, she managed to calm him with her light powers before he hurt her. Ali then disappeared, and apparently found a way to rejoin her lover Longshot on Mojoworld. She returned to Earth to get the X-Men's help, and together they all defeated Mojo I. Ali remained with Longshot, and appeared to be bearing his child, but later, when she came to Earth to help save the X-Babies from termination, there was no trace of her pregnancy. In that encounter, Alison appeared to be the titular co-head of Mojoworld, preparing to rule beside Longshot, who was about to be elected President. She took the X-Babies to live with her and Longshot in the Royal Palace, where they remained.
Recently, Dazzler reappeared on Earth, fleeing from X-baby versions of Apocalypse and his AOA henchmen, who had taken over the Mojoverse. Ali didn't even know what happened to Longshot, but she joined Phoenix's mission to rescue Professor X from Magneto. In the first salvo of the battle against Magnus, Dazzler unleashed a huge laser blast, which Magneto bent back at her, apparently disintegrating her. However, this was only an illusion created by Phoenix, allowing Ali to free Xavier and take his place by projecting a holographic image of him around herself. Following the X-Men's return to the Mansion, Ali left. Whether and how she returned to Mojoworld is unknown.

i just realized it would be good if she was in a cameo scene in X3 singing in a disco (where possibly some X-men could be in) and every kind of light effects around her...oh, but neither BRITNEY nor JESSICA SIMPSON playing da role...some people said one of them were anxious to a role in the film, only now that i know Dazzler and know she's a singer i understand why...

lol, nah, Dazzler was never a porn star. She was a singer/actress. I think she'd be great as a cameo or larger role. Although if it were for a larger role it would have fit better in the first two films than in the next one since it supposedly involved mutants and humans fighting evolution (or so I've heard). But if the Hellfire Club and Phoenix has something to do with the next film, then I wouldn't be surprised if Shadowcat got a larger role and Dazzler was included. Since the Hellfire Club was trying to recruit Kitty and Dazz while they went after Phoenix.

Dazzler was a singer (she turned down membership into the X-Men and Avengers) with a pretty good career that was about to explode. Then she's publicly outed to the public as a mutant and makes a film to shed positive light on mutants as a whole by showing how they use their powers for "good". When she destroys the "only" copy of the film to keep from being a "slave" of a shrewd businessman (later on a "secret" copy is found and released after her stint with the X-Men), her career is ruined and she's blacklisted in Hollywood.

I always thought she would be the perfect example of how the general public felt towards mutants for the movies. I mean, she was well liked BEFORE the revelation of her mutancy, but when it went public her life and career were pracically in shambles. The public hated her and she had to go into hiding before joining the X-Men (which the team was basically "hiding" themselves during this period).

I've always thought she was a really cool character, but most X-Men fans hold her to her "disco"-rooted creation and never let it die. Actually, she had little to do with disco when she made it to comics, besides her disco-ball necklace, she sang mostly rock songs. If she were put in comics more today (which would be great), I see her as more of a pop-princess or a Kylie-Minough type artist. In Ultimate X-Men, she's a punk rocker though (and a bad*** one at that).

I've heard that Gwen Stefani was interested in the role and I think she'd be a good choice. Britney looks the part, but I've never seen Crossroads, so I can't comment on her acting. Jessica Simpson looks exactly like the early Dazzler...long blonde hair, big boobs, and very sexy . The only difference is that Jess has brown eyes and Dazz has blue...but we all know that doesn't matter Simpson is strongly rumored to be up for the "Dazzler" solo film, which Artisan has the rights to produce.

Whoever gets cast, I hope Dazzler at least makes a cameo appearance.

Dazzler solo film? i thought Jessica Simpson would be in a Marvel movie nothing to do with X-men...but i think she's too "Paty", if you get me, to play Dazzler. I would rather see Gwen, she's crazish style would be good ina cameo in X3...tho i don think she's that HOT...

Yeah that'd be cool I always loved Dazz, there's got to be a young up and coming Gwen out there, I think she's a bit past it to play Dazzler.
