I can't believe no one has Henrik Larsson in thier team, he is by far the greatest Player in the World.

calling a player the best in the world is a dumb thing to do IMO a player can at best be the best in the world at a specific position and even then it's arguable

Larsson may not be the best ever but there are few forwards who have the skill and the flair the super swedish striker posseses. He managed to score over 50 goals for us in one season after just coming back from havin broken his leg.

You could say the same thing about Mario Jardel (42 goals in Championship, and I don't know how many in cups,...) : these are good striker in one season, in not-that-good championships (no offence) and when all the team play for them.
That's why strikers like Henry, v. Nistelrooy, Vieri, even Ronaldo deserve to be called the best ones.

Even though they are great players Larsson is still up thier with the rest of them.yes

True, but not every player adapts
He's good in the middle going a bit to the left. Working the middle with 2 other players.

We also must take in consideration the championship the players play in. For example Inzaghi, I dont think he'd do well outside Italy. (Thats my opinion of course).

The only thing Jardel was being in the right place at the right time. The man didnt even need to run and couldnt do nothing with a ball at his feet.
In all fairness however Man Unite plays for v. Nistelrooy.

Kahn is a good player, but he's starting to get too old to be the best ever. If schmeichel was still playing, I would pick him for goalkeeper, but he's retired now

One of the best Keeper ive seen in years is 18 year old David Marshall for Celtic although he isnt the best he is a definite up and comer and is sure to be in my dream team in a few years. I would have to agree that if schmeichel where still playing i would pick him.

He played one season in Sporting and he help us a lot to win the league...And Jardel too

Jardel was a great player and he knew waht to do with the ball in his feet. We cant forget the goals he scored in Champions League against top defences of the greatest european teams, not only in leagues as G.P. wrote.
I think he almost 30 goals in Uefa competitions as Porto, Sporting and Galatasary player. And at least 24 of them only in Champions League in trhee years playing for Porto and Galatasaray. It is a great mark.
His problem now is psicological and only since he got the divorce from his wife

I never said he wasnt good, I said that was the only thing he could do. That's way he didnt do well in Turkey. Because the team didnt play just for him and without that he is nothing. To me that makes him an incomplete player.

He scored 9 goals in one season of Champions League playing for Galatasaray .
But ok. Everyone was playing for him too But I think it is normal to play for the strikers. Not so much as to Jardel but its normal if the team knows he dont miss.

What's more I think it's always tricky to compare two players who lived at 2 different eras.

Indeed. Not to mention picking players that have only played in one championship. I'm not saying one championship is better then others but some players just cant adapt to different styles. That is also a quality that makes a great player.
But lets face it, good players does not equal good team.

joaquin has been a star in spain for years, he's a talented player no doubt, right now though i'd still put duff and robben ahead of him (form wise)...

i think that robbens been getting so many plaudits because he was so bad in euro 2004 and now exploded for chelsea this year. he has been wonderful this season, but duff has been consistent (when he's been fit) over the last few years imo...

well I can see that u disagree with alpay, Seitaridis, mboma and cannavaro...but i can assure u that the unlikely players can make big differences...for instance bak in Euro 2004 2004 France VS Greece...Seitaridis diffended well against henry and was out classed in many ways.... Mboma the cameroon international player has tremendous amount of strength and power in his left foot and does not hessitate to shoot from far distances...

On the other hand cannavaro is arguably one of the best diffenders in the world....and is playing great for juventus...without in him in juve, the team will struggle at the bak...and alpay however may not suit the first team chosen but besides his bad temper i reckon his got what it takes to complete the back four....

i didnt oppose cannavaro...he is a great defender....but why pick cannavaro when u can pick nesta....why pick mboma when you can pick etoo......

i only opposed cannavaro because he is getting on a bit and there are many defenders out there who are just as good and alot younger take Aimar for one.

I disagree. Lampard was the best midfielder last year if you don't count stvie gerrard. And cole, he has matured alot in the last year and is well out ahead of roberto carlos. He just doesnt impress me anymore.
