Dim
Has anyone seen this yet?...I want to discuss it but I don't know if you guys have even seen it or if you think it's too chick-flickie.

ToMacco
I want to see it, but it's not in theators around here. Isn't that a foreign film?

Aquarius87
Amelie..sounds like something iv'e never heard of...

mah
haven't seen it, but it got supernaturally good critics over here.

yerssot
seen it, good movie indeed

Texas
I've heard it's very charming and weird like.
I'll see it when it opens here

Dim
It is a very cute story... and it's done by the same director that did City of Lost Children I think.

TeCk-IcE
I`ve seen it too.

Man, I loved it.
It`s not a girl movie....every man/boy should see it as me ... smile

yerssot
it was one of the best movies of the year to be sure!

grey squirrel
yeah, this film is fantastic (if you don't mind subtitles for all you anglophones). Definately go and see it. just a word of warning: there are no explosions or car chases.

LanceWindu
::In a whiny voice::
But those are the best parts.

yerssot
no!
you won't miss them in this movie!

LanceWindu
I heard it has some nude seens is that true?

( o y o )

Boobies!

Dim
Hmmm..not enough for you to get your kicks, Lance...

LanceWindu
Damnit!

King Jedi
It's French so that put me off.

TeCk-IcE
No, no...
I didn`t understand one word of french either, but I could still see it.

You can be russian for all I know...it doesn`t mather....the movie is so good.

King Jedi
I meant that it was made by a French director.

TeCk-IcE
Hehe..oh..

eek!

Texas
I'm such a dork embarrasment
I haven't seen it yet, cause I thought it hadn't opened here yet
Turns out, it's been open since early November of last year and it's at an arthouse theater, just down the street from me.
I'll see it this weekend embarrasment

King Jedi
It's supposed to make Paris look really nice, because the director digitally removed all the grafitti and dirt from the streets.

TeCk-IcE
laughing out loud

well, I guess that`s one way to go

Dim
I don't think you should let it being made by a Frenchman put you off, KJ..it really is a cute movie and I think you'd find it charming.. Amelie is supposed to be a lonely dreamer and I don't think that's particularly French.

yerssot
Amelie got 4 cesars out of 19 (cesars=French version of the oscars)

DarthKris
I really loved amelie, saw it two times.
I'm just disapointed it didn't get any oscar, although this movie is a lot better than bridget jones diary for example...

Dim
I think it should have gotten an Oscar for something..I guess that since it's an American Academy they feel inclined to ignore whimsical French films laughing out loud

DarthKris
yeah, at least they didn't ignore the african americans this time...
however, amelie is the best comedy I've seen in a looooong time

finti
dont watch french movies

mah
roll eyes (sarcastic)

TeCk-IcE
It should have won oscar...absolutely

finti
Sucks to see a French film, have to read the subtitles all the time. really really sucks

Dim
What's wrong fint?..don't you read so good? stick out tongue

finti
I dont want to get bother with reading, I wanna watch the movie without distraction

mahdi
I loved the movie. I got a chance to watch it on DVD and there are some really good extras on it. You guys should deffinately get it on DVD. Love the soundtrack too.

Luce

yerssot
you sure? I thought there was one somewhere else...

technically, the movie could only win one oscar: best foreign movie

but yeah, wuved it happy

Cinemaddiction
I finally got around to seeing "Amelie", and I don't know that I have ever been so smitten by a Foreign film in my life. It was just pure magic, and a ton of fun.

The cinematography was just unreal. I'm literally giddy after watching it.

Zerosparx
I agree, one of my favorites. Audrey Tautou is perfect for the part of Amelie.

Clovie
i ****ing loved it eek!

sky shadow
sad

MildPossession
You mean horrible dubbing.

What was the sad face for Sky?

Amelie is one of my all time favourites, and one of my favourite French films, I am a big fan of Jean-Pierre Jeunet films.

furryman
I can't find City of Lost Children anywhere

Cinemaddiction
It took me a while to find an R1 copy. "A Very Long Engagement" is set to street in the U.S. on 5/24. My god, that's an insanely big DVD release date.

Morning_Glory

What's funny is that Expedia.com or Travelocity.com, one of the two, took the travelling yard gnome idea and used it for their commercials here in the U.S. Had snapshots of the gnome all over the world, talking about low fares, lol.

Slytherin Girl
One of the best films I ever seen.
I think the soundtrack is nice too.

Fionnula

I truly enjoy this movie its one of my favorites. I cant wait till a very long engagement comes out. Audrey tatou is my favorite french actress. I cant wait to see her in the da vinci code. shes playing sophie neveu, I know she will do a great job.

shaber
I saw it but found it quite dull.

lucija
i saw and i think it's nice movie, one of the best i've ever seen!!

shaber
Should the eponymous heroine be called an "interloper"? stick out tongue

BackFire
Amelie is an incredibly beautiful and enchanting film, it's hard not to feel good after watching it.

Also, just watched A Very Long Engagement for the second time, and it, much like Amelie, is a beautiful film, utterly beautiful and touching. Everyone who enjoyed Amelie should see it.

G.P

BackFire
I gotta completely disagree. I thought the film, after seeing it for the second time, was superior to Amelie. It was a far more "real" film, it showed both horror and beauty, passion and pain, and held a beautiful message of hope.

The movie can be a little tough to follow the first time you see it, and can seem a bit messy at times. But watch it again, you'll see it's just because they wanted to put so many scenes in the film that it would have been difficult, if not impossible to do so without being a bit jarring.

It's a movie that gets better everytime you watch it.

angelic_devil
i LOVED amelie, i thought it was beautiful, funny and heartwarming, everything about it was brilliant, the gnome idea was genius and i loved the photo thing, i almost want to look under photobooths now (yes i know lame!!), is a very long engagement any good, it got mixed reviews here and i want to know if its worth seeing it

Jen-R
I feel in LOVE with Audrey after seeing her in Amelie.

I HATED her in A Very Long Engagement..... SHE KEPT MAKEN ME CRY!!!

Those big brown eyes.... huge tears... Damn her talent. cry

AVLE is a very beautiful movie, i had to watch it twice tho, to love it dearly.
