When you report a post/thread, is it confidential, or does the mod know who the complaint came from?

They know who it came from. I know because one time I reported a post and got a PM from a mod on the subject. More than once actually.

every mod knows about it the request goes to a special forum, me thinks

Only the mods will be able to read the reported post and message.

If you want "more" confidentiality, then just PM me the problem

and then Raz will post it all about the mod forum, showing how much of a grass you really are

So does EVERY mod see it Raz? I was just under the impression that it went to a certain mod and that mod saw it.

there's nothing wrong with mods seeing your report spear unless you report a mod

when you report, it tells them your name, thread title and (i assume) individual post reported, available to ALL mods and admin

I never understood why a moderator has the report buttom on his/her posts. Why would someone want to report a moderator????

Yes, my posts can be reported. Whether anything is done about it, is another question.

One more question about reporting:

When are you meant to do it?

I only do it when there's real member bashing, which is fair enough IMO, and that's rare.
but do you report (for example) a thread in the Kill Bill forum about the matrix, asking it to be moved? like..... what do you mods classify as "unimportant" and should/shouldnt be reported?

or what if there are 2 threads in a forum, do we wait for a mod to merge them or report that?

it's all up to yourself, take some own decisision from time to time

well if everyone reported a duplicate thread, then the mods would have shite loads of crap to go through, just to find important stuff.... or would it be more convienient anyway?

reporting duplicates is very helpful,as is abusive threads. the mods don't always catch everything even in respective forums.


what shouldn't reported would be something like say I have a personal problem with yerrsot,I see his post above and report it and everypost in this thread just to spiteful even though he didn't say anything really wrong or bashful.that would end up getting a note from me to report responsibly.(thats just my opinion any way)
