ok which one?
Dawn of the Dead or Shaun of the Dead. I starred in shaun of the dead so dont diss.
Cinemaddiction
No one in the States has seen "Shaun of the Dead". It's not out here yet.
dean7879
shaun is much better than dawn remake
what character did u play in shawn of the dead??
Darkseed
Shaun Of The Dead 8.5/10.
Dawn Of The Dead 10/10.
sauron
who were you in shaun, i have seen it a few weeks back
were you a zombie
or were you sombody else lol
dean7879
the new dawn is not better than shaun of the dead...no way in HELL!!
Darkseed
There aint a zombie movie out there that can touch Dawn (out of all the zombie movies of late that is).
dean7879
have you saw shaun of the dead darkseed??
if so then why do u think it isnt better than dawn of the dead?
Darkseed
I`ve seen it alright, 3 times i`ve seen it, i have the bootleg of Shaun on dvd, as well as Dawn, cant wait untill they are out to buy.
Why do i think Dawn remake is better than Shaun, well for starter`s it`s better paced and it has more violence which is a plus point in any zombie movie.
The acting is better in the Dawn remake, anyone who knows movies can see this, but acting dont mean everything when it comes to horror movies i guess as it`s horror not a drama or thriller.
The Script is better as well it has had a talented writer with a gift for seriousness in his scripts who`s writing it, where as Shaun has someone who`s a comedian writing it and his is full of one liners (which are funny at times and other times you can see them trying to be funny but your not laffing).
I`ll be buying the two of them on dvd when their out, but if and i mean if i had to choose i`d choose Dawn easily as it`s more entertaining than shaun because shaun tries to be funny at times when it isn`t, where as Dawn is serious most of the time with a tiny piece of humour in it (just like Romero`s movies, serious with a couple of humourous moments in it).
Old School Zombie Movement = Shaun.
New style Zombie Movement = Dawn.
which do i prefer, well i like them both there`s no weakness to either, if it`s done right then it can be thrilling for both running or staggering zombies.
The overall quality of Dawn to me was what grabbed my attention, it had a decent cast as well, just because shaun is british dont mean it is the best, british film industry is cr*p compared to hollywood has been for years, only recently has it been coming back to kick arse and with it, it brought us 28 Days Later and Dog Soldiers which are great movies, GREAT MOVIES, those make me proud to be a british horror movie fan.
By the way, i like shaun of the dead or i wouldn`t have the bootleg copy waiting on the retail copy coming out to buy, i just dont think it`s as good a movie as Dawn. i hope this post has answered what your asking me ?.

Actually to be completey homest i liked both the same. I played the guy with glasses. The irish fellow look at my picture. I stared in black books you know with bill bailey? Ah nevermind although i dont know if this is a racist comment but i dont think americans can appreciate british comedy. Maybe im wrong but lets face it, Simon Pegg is a god and Spaced (the series which hes famous for rocks too).
Damn midges.
Darkseed
I agree on the whole americans not getting the british sense of humour thing, this is true as they didn`t get some of the humour in Dog Soldiers either.
I find the us style of humour smetimes (not always) but some times better than the british style, i live up the road from england over the boarder so i`m what you`d class as british as well so i aint anti-british incase your wondering because i chose Dawn over shaun.
Midges are annoying arent they, little b*st*rds, they are like a rash, so annoying, and it`s summer time so they`ll be out in swarms soon.
Anyway, as i said i like both as well shaun as a comedy/horror and dawn as horror.
I`m a big fan of Mr George A. Romero`s movies so i am and i also like Spaced i watched every episode, the one where Simon was playing Resident Evil too much so when he wasn`t playing it he was seeing zombies everywhere he went, it was funny.
This is kind of a stupid thread anyway, as you cant really compare them as one is horror/thriller (the other is a tribute to Romero while making fun of the zombie movies).
I heard somewhere Simon Pegg was making a From Dusk Till Shaun movie well it better be funny, Ed better be back in it as he was in Shaun.
I`ll bet your just a fan of the guy in shaun and your pretending to be him, ha ha ha the jokes on us eh yeah i had you sussed from the start boy oh

.

dawn was too predictable and you knew what was going to happen right from the start..it is a remake after all...the acting and effects was good but as i said before, it was predictable... shaun of the dead on the other hand is more realistic in my opinion...most of the things that the characters do on shaun is realistic but are funny at the same time..for example when the zombie girl is in shauns back garden, shaun and ed go out and think that she is drunk and make funny comments towards her....this is what people would do in real life...many people think it is a comedy which it is in some ways but to me it is a serious film..it is just because the characters act less hollywood heroic and more realisticly (viewers who watch it would laugh because they are used to seeing amercians blowing the pisss out of the zombies with guns.....
i dont know if that just made sense but in my opinion shaun of the dead is better because it trys to be different and the dawn remake is predictable garbage
just to note...i think british humour in TV is much better than american humour..i know americans will disagree but in all fairness britain has produced the best comedy sitcoms while america produce the best films..its as simple as that
Darkseed
where the hell do you get your info from, britain has produced the best sitcoms, i live in Scotland and i for one see more attraction coming from the us market for comedy than uk, granted the uk has a couple of sitcom`s the us will never beat that i know like:
Father Ted.
Only Fools & Horses.
Still Game.
Red Dwarf.
But the us has a lot more sitcoms some good some great some dung, but it`s got a better variety thus it has a better comedy scene because of it`s selection, unlike the uk where we are stuck wating on the new series coming from our favourite show because 99% of british tv is f**king cr*p this is fact, i`m ashamed of british tv programmes compared to the us side of things so i am, where as the us scene there`s always something to watch while we`re waiting on our fav series returning as it`s got a better selection of sitcoms.
the british give credit where credit isn`t due, look at Tim Henman for instance cr*p tennis player yet he`s treated like a f**king hero, why ?, he`s won f**k all as he doesn`t have the talent for it, yet the british treat the losers like winners, thats not how to win things, no wonder we`re getting our arses kicked at sports and things because there`s no hunger for the victory, they think "ah well if i lose i`ll be ok, they`ll treat me like i`ve won anyway for trying" which is wrong.
The same goes for the comedy scene, look at the credit thats given to monty python, grown men playing with coconut shells pretending to be on a horse and a knight that just will not die when his limbs are being cut off, that people isn`t funny, that`s not funny it`s retarded.
If some call me a f**king idiot for saying such things then what i have to say to them is "i`d rather be a f**king idiot that watches intellegent and witty sitcoms, than some one who watches grown men acting like mongo`s because they are not funny enough to write a proper sitcom, that are aiming their cr*p at the veiwers with the same mentallity level as them".
sauron
black books rocks

hilarious...
who they guy who loved shauns gal...meant to shoot him with the shotgun but it wasnt loaded and was then ripped apart
lol...i sense a lie
shaun beats any movie ever soundtrack wise, you know why, in the oubm the jukebox QUEEEEN!!!!
Raz
You're that guy from Black books?
Anyways, back to the question - Shaun without doubt. Simon Pegg is a genius!

if u think those are the only best sitcoms then i think ure taste is poor....what about blackadder, little britain, men behaving badly, fawlty towers, vicar of dibley??
Darkseed
Out of those you mentioned above Black Adder is the only good one of the lot.
By the way that list i made is just a selection of the sitcoms that are good, your one to talk saying i`m in poor taste who was it that mentioned sh*t like faulty towers thats as bad as monty python that is.
Oh and for the record "porrage" and "open all hours" are far superiour to faulty towers and vicar of dibley.
dean7879
you seem like the only person who hates fawlty towers..even though it is seen by most people as the best sitcom eva...
usa shows like friends, frasier and cheers are good but not that great..
do u know friends adds laughter on..what the hell is that about..
i know u are entitled to ure opinion but the truth is that uk has always nailed sitcoms to perfection and usa cant compete with that....
but to most people(not me) comparing the 2 countrys sitcoms is like comparing apple and a orange....both great but different
.
HockeyFace
Have you my friend ever heard of Peter Cushing? That is all I have to say.
Darkseed
listen up MY FRIEND peter cushing is DEAD D.E.A.D got that, his movie career was way back in the golden era not of the past 20 or so years, to which hollywood has been the superiour, so that`s all i have to say to you.
Aku
Yo Dean i like you very much as well lets face it you posted a reply to my message. But whatever you say the guy with the picture of the sniper from dawn of the dead is right to be honest.
Black Books
Spaced
Are probably the best 2 comedy sitcoms around. Although i like little britain and all that stuff aswell genius. But also as this dude said im not really dylan moran from black books. Just his biggest fan but i did actually star as one of the zombies in shaun of the dead. When they get to the pub, you see shaun trying to shoot at some zombies and having no success what so ever.
Im the guy whoser peersing in through the window. The sexy zombie. Spikey hair.
sauron
lol hang on i will go watch *god bless bootleg*
oook i think i see you
oh and also PK Shaun is amazing.....its funny as hell
have you never heard of a shortcut?
dean7879
hollywood used to create the best films but i think they are runnin out of ideas...no matter how many millions you throw into a film, it doesnt mean it is going to be good....i know peter cushing is dead darkseed but it doesnt mean u cant enjoy his films and appreciate the classic films he was in....id rather watch some of his films along with the excellent hammer films than the crap hollywood is bringin out recently....Van helsing an example of big budget hollywood crap
dean7879
very true indeed..resident evil was terrible....28 days later showed hollywood that u dont need big money to make a good film....most of the best films eva made were produced with very little budget
eggmayo
true - exorcist and texas chainsaw.
Darkseed
Romero`s Dead series.
Evil Dead 1 2 3.
Phantasm 1 2 3 4 (5 when available).
dean7879
halloween was done a small budget
maniac was done for almost nothin
the hills have eyes
last house on the left
the omen
chrisafi
This is a british film made in Britain with British actors
Not out state side yet I don't believe
Its a spoof of Dawn Of The Dead (original) but It doesn't stick to the plot at all. It's very very funny and I would advise that when possible you go and see this film
Instead of hiding in a warehouse/mall they go to the pub and drink beer after bording up the doors. It's all very very funny with some great scenes involving people being eaten alive and ripped apart
Anyone else seen it?
What did you think of it?
<<Solo>>
It comes out here sometime in June. It looks pretty good. I will see it.
Zilverz
how about using the search next time .. there already is a thread on Shaun
Jimmy Cokes
any word on a release date?
BackFire
Shaun of the Dead should be hitting the US in September, last I heard.
Anyways, I have a bootleg of Shaun of the Dead on DVD, the movies pure gold. Hilarious, tense, original and some great looking gore and zombies. It has a Evil Dead feel to it. It's scary and tense, but also quite hilarious. I think it's far better then Dawn of the Dead, which was a blatant rehash of the original, just without the social commentary and with super running zombies that could levitate. Shaun gets my vote.
ladygrim
neither there both shit . how many times can people rise from the dead hmm ,...
