You can now change your username by editing your profile.

The restrictions to stop people going overboard are that a) you can only change it once every 14 days. b) you have to have at least 50 posts.

All the usernames you select will be logged into your profile as a history.

Perfect. The history will solve my recognition problem.

I was about ready to ask the same question reagarding someone stealing our usernames. I believe if we signed under a certain name, then it is somehow locked onto our account and only you have the right to change it back to what it was.

So when you change your name, be prepared to lose the original.

within those 7 days you don't even have the possibility to select a new name though, so that can't be the reason for the problems...

Only change names if you're going to keep it. Remember, somebody can pinch your old name once you've changed it.
