Alright all you crazy KMC lovers, what would you do, if Raz put a payed subscrition on this site...

There is no site out there like KMC and no administrator like Raz, how would you feed the addiction? Would you pay, or would you leave for good and never come back

I would probably pay. Staying away was really hard.

But, the best aspect of KMC is the amount of members. I think too many people would leave due to not being able/wanting to pay, and with that amount gone... it would not be as good as it is now.

That might encourage even more people leave.

If you did not understand that, dont worry. I confuse myself sometimes.

You wouldnt be able to hack the awesome KMC Raz is a proffesional, and the site would be so well done, you wouldnt be able to hack it in your lifetime.

Ahhh...but i thnk only young 13, 14, 15, 16 year olds would leave, the rest would stay

Besides, the site would have this cool features (that arent invented yet, but just imagine they are there)

i would make another KMC...for everyone for free...

Did it not occur that one of the things that MAKES KMC great is that it is free...

I'd probably stay, because if there are new 'cool features', I'd probably be convinced to steal my parent's credit card # to sign up

It would depend on the fee charge. If it is too expensive I'll just won't come here anymore. I got too many bills already. If the price is cheap I'll pay.

That fun is being requsitioned for government purposes...

Just because the free aspect of KMC disappears, does not mean the fun will disappear with it.

If Raz can make the site that much better with a little help from the people who visit the site, who wouldn't want to pay.

What amount of cash do adverts bring in? It seems that the advertisements often relate to the topic of the thread--ie, a "What was your best vacation?" thread would have a Travel Agency advertisement or something.

There is an access of 33,000 members. Of that, assume half pay. That is still 16,000 + members here. How is that bad?

Well, assuming half is insanely hopeful, because the active members list is more like five hundred, and most of them cannot pay.

Secondly, virtually no-one else would ever join. That would kill it. This isn't an elitist community for existing members, it is an open community for the public.

One of the cool features should be one that gives you money back equal to what you paid...

Everything has to grow. Starbucks didnt start out a huge corperation either. But, look where it is now. Subscription doesn't necessarily have to be an astronomical charge. It could be pittens a day.

... and still no-one would join. I am willing to bet that some 95% of posters who joined casually and got hooked would not have joined casually if they had had to pay, even a small amount. I sure as hell wouldn't. We'd also lose a heck of a lot of the existing community.

Yeah, but i've been here a while and know a lot of people...i cant just give up KMC...i cant give it up because if BKK, silver_tears, Furious Angel, dave123, burlyman, Raz, cos hes not on MSN as much...and many others...

To be honest, I'd probably leave. I don't have any extra money, and I don't think paying to use a message board is right, since tehre are so many free one's all over the internet.
