So, I've seen all the movies and managed to put away 6 of the books. But being the type of person I am there are a couple of Q's I have. If this is in the wrong SW forum feel free to move it, I wasnt sure exactly where it needed to go. What I want to know is the following. First of all what is the time frame between each of the movies from 1 to 6. And secondly, what are the ages of each of the following characters.
Obi-Wan, Anakin, Padme, Mace, Yoda, Palpatine, Dooku, Luke, Leia, Han, Lando and Chewbaca? If you just give me the ages of the characters from when they first appear in the saga I can do the math as long as the time frames between each movie is there. Thanks in advance.

Whilst it is hard to be absolutely hardcore on the time frame, the geberally accepted view is that Luke and Leia are 20 at the time of a New Hope. This means Episode 3 is 20 years before that, Attack of the Clones 22 years before ANH, and Phantom Menace 32 years before.

ESB is 'several' years after, people normally go for either 3 or five. ROTJ is a little fuzzy- maybe six months later, maybe a year, but close, in any case.

Obi-Wan in Phantom Menace... mid twenties, putting him late fifties by ANH, which is just a few years off from Alec Guiness so works out fine.

Amidala is 14, Anakin is 8.

Now, after that it gets a mite more conjectural...

From Episode 1 to Episode 2 it goes 10 years, from Episode 2 to Episode 3 it goes 2 years. From 3 to 4 it goes 20 years. Then from 4 to 5 it goes 3 years, and from 5 to 6 it goes 1 year. As for their ages i would have to look it up sometime, even though I am not sure we know all their ages.

By the way, please tell me if I have got any of the numbers mixed up.

Nope, he actually was 8, Amidala was 14 according to Lucas.

MOVIES: we take ANH as year 0, always... that makes:

TPM= -32 YBA (Years Before A new hope)
AOTC= -22 YBA
EpIII= -19 YBA (GL clearly stated it was THREE years later)
ANH= 0 YBA
ESB= 3 YBA (checked the funfacts)
ROTJ= 4 YBA (checked the funfacts)

for characters...
OB1... he should be in his mid-20s in TPM, to be ready for trials
Anakin: 8 in TPM (said in the movie doc about casting anakin)
Padme: 14 in TPM (said in the same one)
Mace: around 40-50 I take in TPM? (difficult to say for a bald guy)
Yoda: 900 years in ROTJ ("when 900 years old you reach..."
Dooku: 80 (around, it's on the dvd commentary somewhere)
Luke: lots of discussion, around 18 (till 20) in ANH, same obviously for Leia, since they might get born in EpIII it can be 18 or 19 (depending in which month they are born)
Han: 20 (think it's said by GL somewhere, not sure)
Lando: hmmm, difficult to say...30?
and Chewbacca: 200 in ANH (stated somewhere, but not official)

Hmm...never really though about Lando's age, but yeah, somewhere in the thirties would make sense.

Chewbacca was said to be 200 in the Star Wars: A New Hope book, (the version released in '77, in conjunction with the movie), yet in other places (mostly EU), it says Chewbacca is only 100, or even 500 years old.
Mace would be about forty-five.
Dooku....60 something.
Obi-Wan was 20 in TPM, 30 in AOTC, and 33 (so says Yerssot) in Episode III. He was probaly arond fifty-three in ANH.
Han is supposed to be about 28, in ANH. In ESB 31, and in ROTJ, 32?
Lando is supposed to be maybe a year or two older than Han.
Luke and/Leia are about 19-20.
Yoda is about 900 (give or take 32 years).
I'd say since Dookus about 60, Palpy would be closer to his mid-fifties in AOTC-in the OT, it is said he looks like a shrivelled scrodum because for one, he's old, and two, he used the dark side too much, he overexcested on it.

sorry, it's not in it, but I believe the emperor was 80 in ROTJ?

80 would sound about right I guess.

I believe it can be used by both sides, just more commonly used by the dark side, might be wrong though. At least we know the light side can deflect it.
