The Omega
Hm, I've never heard of seven things in Buddhism to live perfectly.
Where are these "things" from?
There is the Path leading to the overcoming of suffering. This path is called the "Noble Eightfold Path" and consists of Perfect Understanding, Perfect Thought, Perfect Speech, Perfect Action, Perfect Livelihood, Perfect Effort, Perfect Mindfulness and Perfect Concentration.
HockeyHorror
well i saw this on television. it was on the Russian channel. some "philospoher/doctor" was talking about it. so im just saying what he said
and on the show he showed different statues that represented each 7.
Aini
...and you're sure you remember it right?.....still can't get over money being nr 5 n not last...
HockeyHorror
i wrote it down
Darth Revan
I have six little Buddha statue things that I bought at one of those corny shops in Chinatown... They each have something different written on the bottom: "long life, rich, good health, happy, good luck, and love". I guess that's comparable to this...
HockeyHorror
are they brownish color? cuz the guy on tv showed the little statues and each were brown and had something written at the bottom.
Darth Revan
More reddish than brownish... But like I said, these are just corny little souvenir-type things.
HockeyHorror
is it this color?

I just found this:
the TEN perfections:
1.generosity
2.morality
3.renunciation (whatever that is)
4.wisdom
5.energy
6.patience
7.truthfullness
8.resolution
9.loving-kindness
10.equanimity (whatever that is)
HockeyHorror
is that from Buddhism aini?
Darth Revan
in Buddhism For Dummies (yes there is such a book and yes I do own it
) it says the same thing. The wording is a little different, but you can tell it's the same thing.
LilKitty
Money, power and winner certanly are not in those 7 things to live by in buddhism!
HockeyHorror
LilKitty
yes they are
but it's in a good way
LilKitty
Dukha happens becuase of those things mainly. Money and power.
Its when we concur our desires, that there is nothing more we can desire that we can be truly happy!
§nakehead
love
wisdom
happiness
health
power
money?
Wonderer
Buddhism is not about silly lists of good behaviour and qualities, but it's about realising inner peace and compassion.

I am a Buddhist and I don't know what you are talking about. The only answer to your question that I know is Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.
debbiejo
You can attain these things and not be a Buddhist also...

i think if u wanna live perfectly then there cant be an order, life is what u make of it, so it depends if those things are in your life maybe?
