I remember a bit of an urban myth about this. A guy is doing a Philosophy major, been doing so for 3 years, and is approaching his final exam which will pretty much decide whether he suceeds, or fails. So he studies hard, leans all he can, talks to philosophers, and eventually the day arrives, and he goes into the test, which is to last 3 hours. The is a thick question booklet with "Attempt all questions" on it, and a pile of paper for a response. He opens up the question booklet, and see's there is a single word "Why?". He spent along time pndering this, almost his entire time, before it came to him. He wrote two words in response, which got him full marks. The words were "Why Not?"

"Why" is the source of curiousity... One will not ponder "why" if one has no curiousity at all... Then the question arises to --> is it the result of the conscious being, or just the sub-conscious part of our life? If it was the result of the conscious being, then I have no doubt that animals too, are conscious at times, as all animals has curiousity...
