why does sam always call frodo ........ 'mister' frodo through out all the films?

i just find it odd for someone to address their best friend that way.

fav. scene- when legolas (orlando!) takes on the massive elephant thing with his crazy arrows all by himself!

Best friend, yes, but I think Sam's reactions make it quite clear that he really sees Frodo as his "master" (not "mister" - "master" ^^)
