3. Guts (Berserk)
4. Demon Eyes Kyo (Samurai Deeper Kyo; just to cool)
5. Benitora (Samurai Deeper Kyo)
6. Sanada Yukimura (Samurai Deeper Kyo--that show is a goldmine of great characters; if I had more space, a lot of its other characters, like White Crow and Bikara, would be getting mentioned as well, not to mention Sasuke)
7. Aoshi (Rurouni Kenshin)
8. Ken (Digimon--he's the high point of the show; it's a shame that their best character is also the last one to be introduced)
9. Piccolo (Dragonball Z; the show itself is terrible, but Piccolo rocks)
10. Deimos (Bride of Deimos; is it wrong to prefer the villian of a manga to the hero?)

Okay, the guys were easy; in fact, I had to leave a lot of great guys off my list. The women are going to be much harder; I simply don't like that many anime women. I think the reason is that a lot of them fall into stereotypes I find distasteful; I mean, how many tough, boastful, violent girls can you name? I can think of Akane, Asuka, Lina, and Yuya, and that's just off the top of my head. But I've rambled long enough; let's do this thing:

1. Utena (Revolutionary Girl Utena)
2. Antera (Samurai Deeper Kyo; she's just another suggary sweet, annoyingly cute little girl that anime makers seem so fond of, except that she's one of the bad guys; I like that contrast)
3. The Black Rose Kodachi (Ranma 1/2; Ranma should ditch Akine and go out with her instead)
4. Nabiki (Ranma 1/2)
5. Pai (3x3 Eyes; but only when her third eye is out; otherwise, she's just another girl with nothing to really recomend her)
6. Excel (Excel Saga)

I'm trying to remember any other female characters I really like, but I'm turning up blank. Frankly, I'm stretching it already by including Excel.
