Matt Stone and Trey Parker are simply brilliant! The trailer is freakin hilarious and I love the idea of the puppets, they look so funny!!

I read that originally Stone and Parker's idea for the string puppets was a take for take copy of The Day After Tomorrow. But they were advised by their lawyers to "please don't do that". But I absolutly love the World Police idea and trailer.

Yeah, I hope it's as creatively subversive as it sounds. I've always like the Parker/Stone take on political commentary, because they do it right, not how they think they should do it.

This movie will be gold. Trey Parker and Matt Stone have yet to faulter when it comes to their films.

Doubtful, don't let the unfunny preview fool you. Matt and Trey know better then to put all their good jokes in the preview thus allowing the audience to be disapointed by the actual movie. They'd rather give the audience low expectations with a preview, then to disapoint them with a good preview, but a lame movie, as most other comedies do.

The preview doesn't show anything funny that is actually in the movie... but the creativity of the preview shows what these guys are capable of. And I agree, their political takes are the best in SP so I can't wait to see what they do with this.

These guys are creative geniuses. After seeing what they did with South Park, I'm sure they'll blow us out of the water with this one. As for the trailer, i agree that they don't want to give away all the best parts. Too often trailers do that and then by the time you see the whole movie you've already seen all the funny parts and it's a let down.

South Park had amazing moments but I think it was too hit and miss. BASEKetball was a side-splittingly funny movie though.

I just read this article/interview in the LA Times about the movie and Matt and Trey were saying that after seeing the film people will wonder what side they're on, left or right, b/c they poke fun at both sides. Knowing that they have no "political ax to grind" makes me want to see it even more.

Went to see Collateral this past weekend and saw the Team America trailer again...it got a good response and most people were laughing. Those puppets have to be the funniest thing ever...

Matt stone and trey parker and HILARIOUS but the preview sorta..sucked. I am hoping they dont bomb out with this one. That would be a real dissapointment. I am still wishing they did a south park 2 movie

i saw the billboard for this movie on the side of a bus yesterday. i nearly ran into oncoming traffic because the mere sight of those puppets had me f#@king laughing so hard. thanks for linking the trailer page, it looks absolutely hilarious, as well as brilliant.

I saw a funny TV spot during the mtv awards. Anyone else notice it?

This is soon to be released.. but it looks very funny. From Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of South Park. Just based on what I have seen on the official site and trailors on TV, this solidifys my opinion that it is far too easy to mock the War on Terrorism, George W. Bush, and such things henseforth.

South Park - creative. This just seems to be a crappy parody of the old fashion Thunderbirds.

Just saw the creators of South Park confirm the film is rated R although the people in charge wanted to make it NC-17. They also showed one of the scenes from the film. They had a UN inspector eaten by sharks.

Well, despite the fact that I'm not fond of Marionettes......I'm on my way to see this film. I'll post a review tomorrow. All I want is that the film is friggin funny and hilarious.

Actually more than half of the scene was cut because some people thought it was too explicit. Before it was cut the film was rated NC-17 and now its rated R.

That's what I dont understand, they pretty much showed every sex position imaginable! What was there to cut?

They pick on movies like Team America when some rated G kid movies have adult jokes and references but they are not rated PG or PG-13.

I won a free poster of the movie for having the most Regal Crown Club Card points out of everybody in the theater. WOO HOO! Once I get a ladder, it is going on my ceiling with all my other posters.

I heard that they basically put in some really explicit stuff in the sex scene that they knew wouldn't pass, just beacuse they wanted to see the censor people's reactions when they had to watch it

It bomb because parents had to take their kids to watch that wannabe Finding Nemo a.k.a Sharks Tale.

Also nobody saw the Punisher because word has it that it sucks. The word on the stree for Team America is possitive.

If you never saw The Punisher than you shouldn't even post your oppinion on it. It was a great film but it was rated R so all the little kids couldn't go watch it.

I wasn't so excited about puppets myself before the movie. After the movie it was a great idea! give it a shot! Is worth it!

it came in third on box office weekend report..I don't think thats that bad...but I guarantee after word of mouth of how great this movie is the next couple of weeks it will be more successful.

I was at work and told people that I seen it...the first reaction was like "why did you see a puppet movie?" but when I started to tell them about it they were all laughing out loud...and a few of them said they are defiantly going to give it a chance.

Freakin awesome movie! I loved it

When looking at the stats and profits so far I seriously doubt it.

Me and friends only just got around to seeing this movie yesterday. It came out over here on Friday.

We all loved it. I'm a fan of South Park so I fully understood what they were doing.

Every single thing was a joke. The serious bits were funny because they referenced so many crappy American movies, I loved how they just took the piss the whole way through.

Funniest bits were the hand to hand combat (that matrix bit was great), and I loved the whole spy bit. When they reveal his face after all that surgery, me and my friends were literally crying with laughter.

I loved how the Terrorists managed to negotiate the streets perfectly, then Team America chase after them and destroy everything in sight! Class.

The scene where Gary is waving the signal "Looks like he's saying kiss me.......the cocky bastard!"

The drunk scene where he stumbles out of the pub.....man I was just sat there with a painful mouth after all that laughing, then the puking! I love it when anybody can make ME laugh at a toilet gag. Childish brilliance.

I hope there'll be more movies by Matt and Trey, perhaps another South Park movie... wishful thinking

I do. I won one for having seen more movies with my regal club card than anybody else in the theater. Its like 40" by 27" and is double sided. One side is the main character and the other side is flipped (even the letters are backwards). I use that side.

The DVD comes out May 17th (long way ) but there will be 2 editions. I'm getting the Special Collector's Edition - Uncensored and Unrated.

Was it just me that found EVERY line to be funny?

Even when they were being "serious", you could tell the humour was there.

Even the "what does it have to do with me?" line was funny. The way Trey Parker manages to deliver every line with such satire, taking the piss out of every American blockbuster ever made.

The plastic surgery had to be the single most funniest scene in the entire film, for me and my friends. We kept chuckling about just that scene a lot afterwards.

I thought the puppets were great. The way Gary gets drunk and is stumbling all over the place, hitting his head on the counter and knocking stuff over was awesome.

I bet the makers had the best fun ever making that film.
