Keep Ya Head Up 1993

Verse One:

Some say the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice
I say the darker the flesh then the deeper the roots
I give a holler to my sisters on welfare
Tupac cares, and don't nobody else care
And uhh, I know they like to beat ya down a lot
When you come around the block brothas clown a lot
But please don't cry, dry your eyes, never let up
Forgive but don't forget, girl keep your head up
And when he tells you you ain't nuttin don't believe him
And if he can't learn to love you you should leave him
Cause sista you don't need him
And I ain't tryin to gas ya up, I just call em how I see em
You know it makes me unhappy (what's that)
When brothas make babies, and leave a young mother to be a pappy
And since we all came from a woman
Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman
I wonder why we take from our women
Why we rape our women, do we hate our women?
I think it's time to kill for our women
Time to heal our women, be real to our women
And if we don't we'll have a race of babies
That will hate the ladies, that make the babies
And since a man can't make one
He has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one
So will the real men get up
I know you're fed up ladies, but keep your head up

dirtypop
haha my favorite is proabably the same but i thought of this
from How do You Want It; his flow is incredible....

...Tell me is it cool to ****?
Did you think I come to talk am I a fool or what?
Positions on the floor it's like erotic, ironic
cause I'm somewhat psychotic
I'm hittin switches on bitches like I been fixed with hydraulics
Up and down like a roller coaster, I'm up inside ya
I ain't quittin til the show is over...

Another favorite verse from I Ain't Mad at Cha...

Well guess who's movin up, this nigga's ballin now
Bitches be callin to get it, hookers keep fallin down
He went from nuttin to lots, ten carots to rock
Went from a nobody nigga to the big, man on the block
He's Mister local celebrity, addicted to move a key
Most hated by enemy, escape in the Luxury
See, first you was our nigga but you made it, so the choice is made
Now we gotta slay you why you faded, in the younger days
So full of pain while the weapons blaze
Gettin so high off that bomb hopin we make it, to the better days
Cause crime pays, and in time, you'll find a rhyme'll blaze
You'll feel the fire from the niggaz in my younger days
So many changed on me, so many tried to plot
That I keep a glock beside my head, when will it stop?
Til God return me to my essence
Cause even as a adolescents, I refuse to be a convalescent
So many questions, and they ask me if I'm still down
I moved up out of the ghetto, so I ain't real now?
They got so much to say, but I'm just laughin at cha
You niggaz just don't know, but I ain't mad at cha

fabgab04
Thanks for this thread filmprophet! His lyrics are off the hook and he has an incredible uncanny flow. Here's one of my favorite little rhymes; Tupac just havin some fun and gettin' around:
All respect to those who break their neck
To keep their hos in check
'Cuz, oh, they sweat up rather majorly
And I don't know why your girl keeps paging me.
She tell me that she needs me
Cries when she leaves me
And every time she sees me she squeeze me.
Lady take it easy...
Hate to sound sleazy, but tease me,
I don't want it if it's that easy.
And yo bus' it, baby got a problem saying bye bye
Just another hazard of a fly guy.
You ask why... don't matter
My pockets got fatter,
now everybody's looking for the ladder.
And ain't no need in be greedy,
If you wanna see me
try a beeper number baby when you need me.
And I'll be there in a jiffy..
Don't be picky. Just be happy with this quicky...
But when you learn, you can't tie me down
Baby doll... check it out...
I get around..

So Many Tears 1995

Now
I'm lost and I'm weary, so many tears I'm suicidal, so don't stand near
me My every move is a calculated step, to bring me closer to embrace an
early death, now there's nothin left There was no mercy on the streets, I
couldn't rest I'm barely standin, bout to go to pieces, screamin peace And
though my soul was deleted, I couldn't see it I had my mind full of demons
tryin to break free They planted seeds and they hatched, sparkin the
flame inside my brain like a match, such a dirty game No memories, just a
misery Paintin a picture of my enemies killin me, in my sleep Will I
survive til the mo'nin, to see the sun Please Lord forgive me for my sins,
cause here I come...

2Pacalypse battling me is preposterous, wrapping my yellow hands around your esophagus, and your face turn purple like it was leeky leek, A nigga with one ball shouldn't speak , I grab my ball when I see 2pac , He needs police protection, I'm blackin out like Martin Lawrence on the side of an intersection" of "That's cuz you survived five shots, Survive five once I bring my lyrical onslaught, You walk around tough like that ass from in box corp, Once I start it's critical, Niggaz get touched and your eyes is turnin black like I'm an angel from Bone Thugs' video, All you hear is ambulance sirens, And Pac boxed since you were last cryin on Oprah like he Dennis Rodman, Nigga You ain't never ever seen drama, you and your dope fiend mama, Niggaz is shady, I shed ya california blood and kill Brenda's baby, get around these nuts niggaz don't play me, recognize my face and turn that ass in the back of a Mercedes like a Madonna wardrobe in the 80's".

Chino's diss to Tupac laughing

but i respect pac. he's a great mainstream rapper. he's better than jay-z 50 cent and all those other wannabes

R.I.P Pac

TheFilmProphet
The purpose of this thread is to post TUPAC LYRICS and to discuss them it is NOT meant for posting disses against Tupac no matter how funny you think it may be.

Alpha Centauri
Quite funny how in the first and second verses posted he is a complete contradiction.

-AC

HockeyHorror
HAHAHAHAHA

good job AC

TheFilmProphet
Its not a contradiction its the different songs of Tupac.
The first is made to make you think.
The second is a party song.
If he was the same in every song people would not be still listening to his music today.

HockeyHorror
we never said he cant be diverse...but it WAS a contradiction

HockeyHorror
laughing laughing laughing

TheFilmProphet
NO RESPECT FOR THE DEAD.

HockeyHorror
who said?? read my past post

i even said R.I.P Pac, you will always be one of the best in mainstream.

so if ur trying to diss
"you gotta get something thats twice as ill as Chino"
-Juice

TheFilmProphet
I was merely stating a fact because anytime you laugh at somone who is dead that is disrespecting.
Anyway Hit Em Up 1996

Den everybody had to open their mouth for the mother****er opinion
Well this how we gonna do dis
**** Mobb Deep
**** Biggie
**** Bad Boy as a staff record, record label
and as a mother****in crew
And if you wanna be down with Bad Boy
Then **** you too
Chino XL, **** you too
All you mother****ers, **** you too

HockeyHorror
wow!!! he said CHINO XL **** YOU TOO

OMFG thats the most powerful diss i've ever heard off...im shocked

tupac is that creative at dissing people...

listen pac isn't a punchline mc...get your facts straight...he cant diss anyone...he's just good at how he feels...and sometimes he contradicts himself...but Brenda's Gotta Baby was great. classic

HockeyHorror
and its obvious Chino XL's diss was waaay better and more creative....funny as hell too.

TheFilmProphet
I wasn't competing for best disses I was just posting lyrics.

Alpha Centauri
"Its not a contradiction its the different songs of Tupac.
The first is made to make you think.
The second is a party song."

I got no lyrical or moral respect for a man who tells women and ladies to keep their head up and talks about treating them right and then goes and makes a record about how he ****s his bitches.

Chino XL pissed over him. I respect what Pac did when he was here but he didn't do much, sorry to pop the bubble.

-AC

Victor Von Doom
'I was merely stating a fact because anytime you laugh at somone who is dead that is disrespecting.'

Hmm, I better stop listening to my Bill Hicks cds then.

Do you know what 'fact' means? Or 'anytime'? Or what about 'disrespecting'.

HockeyHorror
i remember in history class, my teacher called tupac "a man of duality"...everyone in class was serious, but i tried not to laugh laughing

TheFilmProphet
Whatever I'm leaving you people are too immature.

Alpha Centauri
Oh my.

What's more immature, questioning a musicians morals or running away when someone questions someone you like?

I'm not dissing the man, but you take it as a diss.

-AC

TheFilmProphet
Before I leave I'll leave this for you to read

DEAR MAMA 1995

You are appreciated When I was young me
and my mama had beef Seventeen years old kicked out on the streets Though
back at the time, I never thought I'd see her face Ain't a woman alive that
could take my mama's place Suspended from school; and scared to go home, I
was a fool with the big boys, breakin all the rules I shed tears with my
baby sister Over the years we was poorer than the other little kids And
even though we had different daddy's, the same drama When things went wrong
we'd blame mamaI reminice on the stress I caused, it was hell Huggin on
my mama from a jail cell And who'd think in elementary? Heeey! I see the
penitentiary, one day And runnin from the police, that's right Mama catch
me, put a whoopin to my backside And even as a crack fiend, mamaYou
always was a black queen, mama I finally understand for a woman it ain't
easy tryin to raise a man You always was committed A poor single mother on
welfare, tell me how ya did it There's no way I can pay you backBut the
plan is to show you that I understand You are appreciated

HockeyHorror
AC is a genius yes

and i've heard that song too many times TheFilmProphet

penitentiary!!!!!

tupac says that WAAAY too much.

Victor Von Doom
I actually know him, and he's a grade A spaztard.

HockeyHorror
laughing laughing laughing

Alpha Centauri
I do actually know Vic away from the forum and HE is actually the fresh-from-the-over mongoloid.

-AC

MF D00m
Tupac is the second coming of christ. Lets all pray he keeps putting out albums. Greatest ever ever ever ever ever.

Dr. Strangelove
I have a pretty good feeling that Tupac probably sold his soul to the devil then becoming the second coming of christ when you look at all the albums from him after his death. wink

HockeyHorror
dont just love the sarcasm big grin

TheFilmProphet
ALBUM: Better Dayz SONG: Mama's Just A Little Girl YEAR: 2002

Young mothers That's right I feel ya (hey) I know how it is
(MAMA's JUST A LIL' GIRL) Don't nobody understand I feel ya
She was .. Born A heavy set girl
with pig tails and curls A heart full of gold Still it won't change the
world Though she could never understand why Some underhanded plans,
witnessed a man die Was only 15 Should have been a beauty queen
Still see here crying by the caskets when here parents got killed Little
girl don't cry 'Coz even though they died You can best believe they
watching over thee from the sky Never asked for this misery But look at
what you gettin' It's a blessing in disguise When you find out your
pregnant No money, no home And even though you all alone You'se got
to do this on your own So baby go on I wish you luck And if you need
me, call Just come to me and let me feed you all I can understand
The way it feels when you fighting the world Facing all this drama
When mama's just A little girl

Darth Revan
Tupac is grossly overrated. He's definitely good for mainstream hip hop, but there are many better rappers out there.

TheFilmProphet
ALBUM: Greatest Hits SONG: Unconditional Love

Come listen to my truest thoughts, my truest feelings All my
peers doing years beyond drug dealing How many caskets can we
witness Before we see it's hard to live This life without God, so we must
ask forgiveness Ask mama why God deserved to die Witness the tears falling
free from my eyes Before she could reply Though we were born without a
silver spoon My broken down TV, show cartoons in my living room (hey)One
day I hope to make it A player in this game Mama don't cry, long as we
try Maybe things change Perhaps it's just a fantasy A life where we
don't need no welfare Shit with our whole family Maybe it's me that caused
it The fighting and the hurting In my room crying cause I didn't want to
be a burden Watch mama open up her arms to hugging And I ain't worried
bout a damn thang, with unconditionl love

HockeyHorror
i thoguth u left man no expression

TheFilmProphet

ALBUM:Until The End Of Time SONG:Letter To My Unborn Child
YEAR: 2001

(Verse two)

Seems so complicated to escape fate And you can
never understand 'til we trade places Tell the world I feel guilty to bein
anxious Ain't no way in hell, that I could ever be rapist It's hard to
face this, cold world on a good day When will they let the little kids in the
hood play?I got shot five times but I'm still breathin Livin proof
there's a God if you need a reason Can I believe in my own fate Will I
raise my kids in the right, or the wrong way? Dear mama I'm a man now I
wanna make it on my own, not a handout Make way for a whirlwind
prophesized I wanna go in peace.. when I gotta die On these cold streets,
ain't no love, no mercy, and no friends In case you never see my face
again To my unborn child

HockeyHorror
this song shits on anything Pac wrote

Binary Star- Reality Check

This is how I represent I rock the mic 110 percent
It's intimate, I keeps the party moving like a imigrant
Binary Star, superstar its no coincidence
Every verse is intricate, this ain't a circus in a tent
We don't get down like them clowns and the kids
I'm use to being indegent, who said its all about the Benjamin's?
I wanna fortune, I wanna make music and hit the lottery
Fortunately my music is never watery
That's how its gotta be, as far as I can see
Maybe you should grab a telescope to see my veiw its like astronomy
It aint all about economy
so the fact that these wack emcees is making G's don't bother me
Honestly, my number one policy is quality
never sell my soul is my philosophy
High velocity, lyrics like Nastradamus make a prophecy
I told you cats a long time a go it ain't no stoppin' me
I bomb your set that's not a threat its a promise
Got everybody ridin' on my wagon like the Amish
But still I never claim to be a big rap star
So no matter who you are its still Allah who act God
Better believe this, most rappers can't achieve this
I'm bad to the bone but x-rays can't even see this
See I'm strategic I letcha money talk bullshit walk
While I keep it rollin' like parapalegics
Whoever's on the microphone let it be known
You in danger, I got next(necks) like the Boston Strangler
You ain't never heard an emcee speak like this
And Rodney King ain't never felt a beat like this

Voice: (That is the Main theme)... scratching.. ( I wanna know something else)

Get a grip on yourself cuz you ain't grippin mines
Life and times, outta lies rap guys outta line careers I finalize
collide with this seranade cyanide you apply for Silla's high
The thing that makes killa's high
Hang 'em high by the gold link necktie
And drain 'em dry into tempest eye now you ain't God
so you ain't that high wanna be aeronautic
And get swatted for actin' fly
Masterminds crafty rhymes, I'll rip from drafty lines
that chill spines like the Alpines, runnin up on some natural binds
A close encounter of the worst kind
Go ask the cats that heard I'm lyrical turpentine
Who wanna taste mine I gotta carry hill on the wasteline
God give the bassline so let the phlegm fly
I survive seven-five through the M-ine, when I forcefully Jedi
On the wooze I red-eye, heads fly bet I, sharpshoot dead-eye
Snooze crews bed bye, Mary lou flippin' I pistol pump grippin
I stompin, I semper-fi represent, temper high, signify
Walkin round ain't nothin similar
Like a Gemini, in this perimeter sublimin-ie
Cats be cut dry more why I wet guys
I be rainin precipitation 'til it's one inch your neck high
Less fly kids misguide, without an alibi
Who said you rap tight? You come unraveled by
Slice of this rap scalpel, guys quick as apple pie
I'm learned in old schools of thought and shit you baffled by
Conceptual intellectual fireslide
Silla oxide rhymes flow like a rockslide
you musta forgot I, have your ass knockneed and cockeyed
Bruised, battered, broken up, walkin, cut dipped in peroxide
Death to the Pop Fly

TheFilmProphet
If I remember correctly Hockey this thread is called TUPAC LYRICS and NOT anything else. Also I was not digging up Tupac's best lyrics but only some of the ones that move me personally. Got that?

HockeyHorror

Deadly Combination

Follow me tell me if you feel me
I think niggaz is tryin to kill me
Picturin pistols, spittin hollow points til they drill me
Keepin it real, and even if I do conceal
my criminal thoughts, preoccupied with keepin steel
See niggaz is false, sittin in court, turned snitches
that used to be real, but now they petrified bitches
I'm tryin to be strong, they sendin armies out to bomb me
Listen to Ron, the only DJ that can calm me
Constantly armed, my firepower keep me warm
I'm trapped in the storm, and **** the world til I'm gone
Bitches be warned - word is bonb, you'll get torn
I'm bustin on Guiliani, he rubbin my niggaz wrong
And then it's on, before I leave picture me
I'm spittin at punk bitches and hustlin to be free
Watch me set it, niggaz don't want it, you can get it
Bet it make these jealous niggaz mad I said it
This +Thug Life+ nigga, we don't cater to you hoes
**** with me, have a hundred mother****ers at yo' do',
with fo'-fo's.. hahahahaha, yeah nigga!
+Thug Life+!

I be that young Freddie Fly smooth glorious kid
A Bad Boy, just like Notorious B.I.G.
I Roc-a-Fella like Shawn Carter
with more game than Ron Harper
The bomb sparker rapper slash charm robber
While y'all be on the corners bummy and high
I be out buyin the finest shit money can buy
You wish you was in a position that I'm in
Hot rhymin, diamonds shinin, autograph signin
My lifestyle is far out
Every week bring a different car out
I go to nightclubs and buy the bar out, UHH
cause I keep cream, I'm large on the street scene
Everytime I touch mics you hear all the freaks scream

R.I.P to both mc's. Big L was great..

TheFilmProphet
This is his first song released with Digital Underground before he got his own album.

SONG: Same Song YEAR:1991

Now I clown around when I hang around with the Underground
Girls use to frown, say I'm down, when I come around
gas me and when they pass me they use to diss me
harrass me, but now they ask me if they can kiss me
Get some fame, people change, wanna live they life high
same song, can't go wrong, if I play the nice guy
(clamin that they must have changed, just because we came strong)
I remain, still the same (why Tu'?) cause it's the same song

VodkaFrenzy
WOW HOCKEY!
I don't even know what to call you honestly.
You have alot of nerve kid. I know that much and I knew I was right about your ass.

Let me ask you something.....acutally a few things.

1-How old are you?

2-Did you get dropped on your head at any point in your life?

3-Were you born a hater? Or did it just grow on you like mold?

4-Ever hear of the words "Open Minded" ?

5-Ever hear of the word "Ignorant" ?

In those 5 questions I pretty much summed up how much of an asshat you really are dude. Seriously.

I mean....Do you even READ the shit you say?
My god! How can you be that frigging ignorant and stupid? You don't know shit about good artist's pal. Btw since you ride Chino's cock and he's sooooo much better then Pac. Where is Chino now? huh?
EXACTLY.

Pac's passed away and people still listen to him to this day. If you drive around bumping a Chino XL song tomorrow you'd get laughed at.
You need to just shut your mouth about some shit. Your opinion is completely negative..Like ALL the time.
If someone says they like a certain artist and it ain't some underground herb ass who ain't ever gonna get a record deal and remain broke till his dying day, You diss them.

Let me explain to you how shit works since your too think-headed to understand how it REALLY is.

Ok. Mainstream artist's have record deals. Some sell MILLIONS of albums.
If an artist is selling MILLIONS of albums and HAS a record deal they must be doing SOMETHING right. They MUST have SOME kinda of skills.
People MUST like them for SOMETHING.

Get it out of your head that if they ain't underground they ain't good. Cause that thought process is just simply retarded. No other way to put it.

I hope this message got through that thick ass skull of yours. Most likely not though. I can tell your as hard-headed as a redneck on prozac.

I'm gonna leave you with this pic that sorta reminds me of you and your posts.....

http://www.zoto.com/images/e546151cbddbee28b0c86836095d528c-/fs

PS: I will most likely get banned for "personally attacking" you but it was WELL WORTH IT. Trust me....

TheFilmProphet
Thank you big grin finally someone told him I thought I was by myself here.

VodkaFrenzy
I could'nt help myself.

TheFilmProphet
I was really getting tired of trying to prove to him everything you just mentioned.

HockeyHorror
laughing laughing

MF D00m should really read this. he would shit his pants cuz its soo funny.

ok let me answer your questions one by one big grin

1. soon to be 17 with a great knowledge of Hip Hop and Science/Philosopy
2. no, how about you?
3. no im not a hater, im just saying the truth about hip hop. i did study about molds at a very young age :smartass:
4. Open Minded, well obviously thats y i listen to better music than you.
5. Ignorant, yea thats what mainstream fans are.

ummm dumbass, questions without being answered cant be summed up

i dont ride chinos cock no expression actually chino right now is sitting in his mansion, finishing up on his album and working on acting deals. he's doing a great job. he was on Reno 911 last time, ****ing funny shit. laughing out loud

did i ever say you should bump chino xl? plz dont put words in my mouth...i dont like to get spoon fed like you. the media feeds you and you just open your mouths. explore, do some searching...or just ask someone hear like MF D00m that knows about hip hop.

labels mean your good? who said that no expression did someone state this as skill no expression dont assume cuz u make an Ass out of yourself. Immortal Technique, (underground rapper) turned down over 7 record deals cuz he didnt wanna go mainstream. he still has money, and his lyrics are ****ing ill. mainstream rappers rap about sex, drugs, money...its too repetative...every artist raps about same shit over and over wheater its 50 cent, or tupac, or jay-z etc etc...

and underground will beat mainstream lyrically any ****ing time...wanna get a go at it? you put lyrics down for your so called mainstream lyrics and ill put down lot of hot shit from the underground.

and dont take a pic of yourself like that...just go to a website and find one...

o yea, and i AM a huge ****ing pac fan...you idiots dont get it. pac is one of the only few mainstream rappers i REALLY like.

HockeyHorror
o yea and i have to thank pac for dissing Chino XL on hit em up...cuz without that song i would have never heard of Chino XL...and then from Chino XL i heard about Ras Kass, and Killah Priest...all great rappers...wayyyy better than pac lyrically.

HockeyHorror
"Not number five like caps bust inside of Tupac's side
Rap side, not Pharcyde, burn your eyes like hydrogen peroxide"
- Chino XL

here's a small taste to his great lyrics. (and he's not the best of course, there are alot better underground rappers, chino is just the best at dissing people )

HockeyHorror
also, stop crying ***** roll eyes (sarcastic) cool

HockeyHorror
two more laughing

"Pac died and I cried but I'mma represent it
When it comes to dissing my shit make Makaveli sound like Macarena"
- CHino XL

"Ever since Pac dissed me, Jersey tried to front on me
Now I'm so vain/vein you could probably draw blood from me"
- Chino XL

laughing

Alpha Centauri
"If an artist is selling MILLIONS of albums and HAS a record deal they must be doing SOMETHING right. They MUST have SOME kinda of skills."

Stupidest logic ever. End of story.

-AC

HockeyHorror
is correct^

Dr. Strangelove
1. Well judging by your post you cant be older than HH with that writing but if you are your pretty pathetic.

2. I think the better question is if you have had a brick dropped on your head.

3. God I hate it when someone doesnt like a guys comments and says "your a hater" its so effin stupid.

4. I have heard it, but I bet you havent.

5. I have heard it, but I bet you havent.

Next two paragraphs justs takes dumb noob personal shots like all dumb noobs do without making any sense.

I wouldnt say HH is negative, hes just trying to educate the good people on good music.

Ok so by your logic Avril Lavrigne is a good artist sense she sells MILLIONS of record, or how about Master P I cant remember if he sold a MILLLION but he made a lot of MILLION money from his one popular CD even though its shit. Or lets take your logic to TV, Friends has MILLIONS of viewers but its a shitty chick flik show thats not funny and has no minorities (ends Friends rant). And on a side note I dont want anybody calling me a rascist as im white but I guess you could call me Uncle Ice.wink

Alright you say HH thought process is retarted with underground to mainstream but you dont put any reason why, that looks to me you have no argument so you just go back to stupid personal attacks, jinkies I really hope your not older than HH, because your at Jessica Simpson smarts right know buddy.

Well its better to have a thick ass skull than a nut brain which is what you have my friend, and I think you could use some of that prozac right now.

P.S. I doubt youll get banned for "personal attacks" as they were all pathetic, but you might get your wish to be banned with this post as I find smarter posts in the Orlando Thread. (no offense to anybody in the orlando thread)

SHAZAMMM Happy Dance

HockeyHorror
shazaaaammm indeed Happy Dance Happy Dance^

TheFilmProphet
WOW Hockey!! He must be great! If he is dissing someone after they are long dead and ashes right?

HockeyHorror
he wrote that before he was dead!!! laughing it was just released late laughing out loud who cares people now diss Rick James etc etc...

TheFilmProphet
If you diss someone after they are dead who can't say anything back to you anymore thats just being a coward.

That doesn't matter because he wasn't dissing the Outlaws he was dissing Tupac who was already dead. Ofcourse he doesn't have beef with Tupac thats because hes dead!!

HockeyHorror
even when pac was alive dumbass laughing out loud he said no beef. pac just did him a favor by saynig "chino xl **** you too"

TheFilmProphet
I'm just going to ignore your elementary school insults and tell you that Chino Xl will never be a star, is a coward, and is a terrible rapper.
The highlight of his entire career was when Tupac dissed him laughing

Darth Revan
You're way over reacting. Weird Al still does "Smells Like Nirvana" even though Kurt Cobain is dead, and nobody complains about that roll eyes (sarcastic)

HockeyHorror
laughing what a dumbass

TheFilmProphet
I would reply to that but unfortunately I grew up years ago. wink

Alpha Centauri
"The highlight of his entire career was when Tupac dissed him"

The highlight of Pac's career was when he made Hit Em Up, which was just him dissing everyone. So your point is invalid.

-AC

TheFilmProphet
Your comment is so ridiculous I'm just going to laugh laughing

Darth Revan
It's becoming apparent that you laugh at everything, regardless of whether or not it's actually ridiculous. AC's comment is true.

TheFilmProphet
So what you are saying is that out of his hundreads of songs, dozens of videos, and seven films. That Hit Em Up was his highlight of his career I don't think so. wink

Darth Revan
No, I think what he's saying is that he was in the height of his career when he did that song. And that was all he could come up with.

TheFilmProphet
Trying to speak for him won't change the fact that he was wrong.

Darth Revan
Whether or not he was wrong is a matter of opinion. Was that really very hard to figure out?

TheFilmProphet
The most successful single he had from his album All Eyes On Me was California Love not Hit Em Up if you check you check out the official reports.
So I'm afraid it is a fact.

Darth Revan
AC never said that Hit Em Up was his most successful single. He merely said that it was the highlight of his career, which is a matter of opinion roll eyes (sarcastic)

TheFilmProphet
Facts aside the only person who knows what the highight of his career was is Tupac himself.

Alpha Centauri
"So what you are saying is that out of his hundreads of songs, dozens of videos, and seven films. That Hit Em Up was his highlight of his career I don't think so."

I do. I do think so because even now, if you ask any random person "Name something to do with Tupac" they'll either mention his death or his feud with Biggie. Which hit it's peak when he put out Hit Em Up. Which is the biggest diss track of all time.

I think Pac had some great songs and it's a shame he is known mostly for his feud and death. However, the reason why he is known mostly for Hit Em Up is because sadly, the diss track is the track that appealed to all of the Hiphop community. All of his songs about ghetto life in LA don't mean shit to someone in London or NY. When he dissed another global rap phenemenon, everyone gave them his attention.

If you look at the facts and the events in the feud, the reason he made that song was on evidence thinner than a wet wafer. He did it because he knew that he cannot live by targetting one audience.

He wanted to be someone who would change the world or wanted to say something that led to changes in the world, sadly and yes this is true:

He wasn't intelligent or quite frankly, as good as he thought he was. His desired status was far greater than the status he could ever achieve.

Sorry to say that to you but as someone who's followed his career from Digital Underground, you are in no place to tell me about him.

ALBUM:All Eyes On Me SONG:California Love YEAR:1996

Out on bail fresh outta jail, California dreamin Soon as I
stepped on the scene, I'm hearin hoochies screamin Fiendin for money and
alcohol the life of a west side playa where cowards die Only in Cali where
we riot not rally to live and die In L.A. we wearin Chucks not Ballies
(that's right) Dressed in Locs and khaki suits and ride is what we
do Flossin but have caution we collide with other crews Famous cause we
program worldwide Let' em recognize from Long Beach to Rose Grands Bumpin
and grindin like a slow jam, it's west side So you know the row won't bow
down to no man Say what you say But give me that bomb beat from Dre
Let me serenade the streets of L.A. From Oakland to Sacktown The Bay
Area and back down Cali is where they put they mack down Give me
love!

Matsa33
Actaully, he nevers contadicts himself. Like he said in his movie, he raps about what he sees everyday. In Keep Ya Head Up he raps about the strong black women, in how do you want it he sings about hoes. So what he's saying is that women should get more respect, unless they are bad women, which is obvious. On the other hand he can diss, lsiten to this diss of Dre:
Do you want me what's your phone number, I get around
Cali Love to my true Thugs, picture me now
Still down for that Death Row sound, searchin for paydays
No longer Dre Day, arrivederci
Blown and forgotten, rotten for plottin Child's Play
Check your sexuality, as fruity as this Alize
Quick to jump ship, punk trick, what a dumb move
Cross Death Row, now who you gon' run to?
Lookin for suckers cause you similar
Pretendin to be hard, oh my God, check your temperature
Screamin Compton, but you can't return, you ain't heard
Brothers pissed cause you switched and escaped to the burbs
Mob on to this new era, cause we Untouchable
Still can't believe that you got 'Pac rushin you
Up in you, bless the real, all the rest get killed
Who can you trust, only time reveals -- toss it up!

I think thats pretty good.

HockeyHorror
no he DOES contradict himself.

MF D00m
2Pac riders are the most annoying.

Matsa33
no he DOESN'T contradict himslef big grin . In the two songs, he raps about two different types of women, if both songs were just about women in general, yes he'd be contradicting himself, but hes not.

HockeyHorror
as i said before, he DOES contradict himself in NOT ALL, but MOST songs. big grin

Matsa33
name a song where he contadicts himself.

Which fool sed Tupac was overrated, most of ur artist today are inspired by tupac thats why they the rappers they are today, Eminem, 50 cent, Jay Z most rappers they all have respect for him. And ur sayin Tupac can't diss, well let me tell you something all rappers have set a style they want to keep its not that they can't do the other style its by choice I bet you if Tupac wanted to diss and shit wit all metaphors, punchlines and multies he could do that. You need to study his songz man heres a list:-
Against all odds he disses mobb deep,dr dre, puffy and nas line after line

"This little nigga named Nas
Think he live like me
Talk about how he left the hospital
Took five like me
You living fanatasies nigga
I reject your deposit
We shook dre punk ass
Now we out of the closet
Mobb Deep wonder why nigga blowed them out
Next time grown folks talkin'
Nigga close your mouth"

"Puffy, lets be honest
You a punk
or you would see me with gloves
Remember that shit you said in vibe
About me being a Thug
You can tell the people you roll With
Whatever you want
But, You and I know
Whats going on"

"Yo Nas, your whole damn style is bitten.
(You sound like Rakim, man)
You heard my melody,
Read about my life in the papers.
All my run ins with authorities(Trick!),
felonious capers (Punk!)
Now you want to live my life.
So what's the hustle, Nas.
Niggas that don't rhyme right"

My point is do ur homework b4 u start makin up shit wit no proof listen to the track in fact its called "against all odds" u can listen to "when we ride on are enemies" and "hit em up 1,2 and 3"!

And back to u sayin Pac overraTed well look how many tracks he made, how many lives hes touched, he an actor, poet and one of the greatest rap artists he took 5, i fink he the only rapper that made a track for his moma, n he repped blacks but that dont matter cuz all races luv him n e way, he was a thug n for sum one to go from that to all the listed above that deserves props thats well earned so next time u wana talk shit bout him bein overrated do ya hoemwork boyyy!!! iight

Tha KiD
Chino XL: This is the album that dissed everyone including Whitney Houston, Eddie Murphy and of course Tupac. In keeping up with his tradition, Tupac retaliated: "..Chino XL, f**k you too. All you mother f**kers, f**k you too!" - Hitemup. It is believed that Chino XL's comments was only there to create publicity and make him a well known rapstar, but this scheme was obvious, so Tupac didn't mention his name too many times as this would only create a name for Chino XL

Deathblow
laughing out loud I bet Nas laughed his ass of when he heard that. Mobb Deep too.

Prodigy and Nas are both way better lyricists than Pac.

laughing out loud That's a freakin compliment!

Darth Revan
Well, you're right about 50, Eminem, and Jay-Z all respecting Tupac. But you're forgetting one little detail--all these rappers suck. smile

Oh my GOD!!! He dissed FOUR rappers in one song! Holy shit this must be some kind of record! roll eyes (sarcastic) Seriously though, those were really weak disses. I can do pretty much the same thing, see?

Nas, you suck
50, you suck
Mobb Deep, you suck
Jay-Z, you suck
Eminem, you suck
Puffy, you suck
LL, you suck
Dre, you suck
Andre, you suck
Pharrel, you suck
Fat Joe, you suck

See that? That's the greatest diss ever, dude! I just dissed eleven rappers in a single verse. I'm a ****ing genius!

We've all listened to Tupac. We all know why everybody thinks he's so great. And we all disagree with these people. One of the reasons we think he's overrated is because, despite touching many people's lives, these people were all young, poor, and black. Not that there's anything wrong with reaching out to that demographic, it's just that a truly great artist has the ability to really touch more people. I think a lot of white people only like him because they think he's cool, honestly... They don't understand what he's talking about. You can't really understand it unless you've lived his life, which most people haven't. Plus that diss in your last post from Hitemup is really weak.

HockeyHorror
Chino XL shits on Pacs lyrics without any constipation.

*listens to No Complex*

Afro Cheese
2pac is one of the most overrated rappers ever. Everybody at my school acts like he's some sort of god and we could all learn a thing or two from 2pac. But I think that a lot of his work sucked and had no moral message at all. Most of his rhymes were about nothing but sex, gangs, and dissing the east coast. His earlier work was good though. But still, if he hadn't been shot we wouldn't even be discussing 2pac right now.

D-Double
I agree, man. I just don't get it. It's like the kat slows down the beat and automatically he's saying something important...No.. He had a couple of good tracks, but overall the production of his music sounded like doo-doo. Yeah, so he wrote hundreds of songs. So what. I liked 3 of them.

Tha KiD
It depends what type of person you are, if you like rap songz that make you think 'bout it and change your mind about something well then you gona like a rapper like Tupac and you didn't read what I was tryin to say clearly. I was sayin' that you don't get many Thugz or Gangstaz that get the respect Tupac gets because Tupac had 1 ov the worse livin conditions and he made it and I admit after the shootin his style changed but that doesn't mean you whack or whatever because he was a very popular rapper round that tyme he had the press, media, copz on his case because he was a thug u talkin bout chino XL, nas they weren't thugz it wasn't as hard as it was for Pac to be a rapper. I'm a young rapper and shitz eazzy for me becuz I ain't wit all drugz, thugz and crime thats why i can take time to write and work real hard but i bet ya if I'ld been shot or betrayed whateva, it would be very hard to rap in a complex, come out wit (the punchlines, wordplay). And you sayin a great artist has an ability to touch more thats true and tupac's lyrics touched many children, women, mothers, thugs, gangstas, blacks, all races it don't really matter. What other artist has had as much power as Tupac has?, A rapper that has that much power is far more powerful than a rapper can spit some cool ryhmes like the rappers yal named. And ya need to get underground shit on eminem he myte be whack now but he use to spit some cool lines. And you also said that people don't understand what Pac was sayin' ye obviosly, but you ain't gota be him to understand anyone goin through simialr situations will relate to a track of his, NOT ALL cuz they not all aimed at young, blacks and poor like you said. iyt HOlla bak ooo I got sum more Afro cheese you sed "Most of his rhymes were about nothing but sex, gangs, and dissing the east coast." He didn't diss the East Coast He was born in New York Y would he diss the East Coast for? And what gangs did Pac talk bout, I know he repped his group outlawz, and most artist u get talk bout sex all the time but briefly but tupac got str8 to the point wit it. U may not liek it but you can't take a piece outa sum1z life and say this is them rate artists overall not just listen to 1 track n say he wack iyt.

"I never said I was the best lyricist but i'm definetly the Realist"- Tupac said sumn like that in an interview

And yal who feel yu can't relate I'm sure tracks like Changes, Letter to my unborn child, dear mama, brendas gota baby, only god can judge me well you get what im sayn

Tha KiD
My bad its real long, but maybe if you read it you'll get wha im sayin

Afro Cheese
ThaKiD, sorry if I didn't make it clear when i said he was dissing the east coast, I was referring to rappers from the east coast. I kinda assumed you'd catch on to that, my bad for the misunderstanding. As for the other points you touched on, how he was a respected thug and nas and them aren't thugs, that doesn't really matter to me. Maybe it did make obstacles for Pac, but it doesn't make his work any better. A talented artist is a talented artist, the life they lead is their own business. Also, he didn't reach people of all kinds, he mostly reached out to young black people, then he died, then everyone jumped on the "lets love tupac" train.

By the way, I actually agree with you with the Eminem statement. Everybody dismisses him now because of the bullshit he keeps putting out but if you look at Infinite and Slim Shady LP, they both have some great tracks. Bad meets evil, 313, infinite, as the world turns, it's ok, ect.
Kinda off topic but i just wanted to let you know I think your right about that.

HockeyHorror
"pac was not been the greatest lyricist...but he was the greatest rapper..........everyone now has taken a piece of pac"
- Ras Kass

basically referring to mainstream rappers...

Darth Revan
Tupac didn't talk about anything that hadn't been done before him. He merely took little pieces of other artists and styles and combined them. Other rappers talk about living on the street, other rappers talk about being a thug, other rappers talk about doing drugs, other rappers talk about their romantic relationships, other rappers talk about religion... And quite a few of them do a better job of it. Plus other people have recovered from poverty, drug addictions, and the like, and gone on to become successful musicians. Jon Davis for example (not a rapper), had arguably an even harder life and today he fronts one of the better-known metal bands... Immortal Technique lived in complete poverty most of his life, and that man is a genius. Again, it's nothing that only he can do, and nothing that other people haven't done.

Tha KiD
I agree rappers talk bout poverty, thugs, drugs, religion etc. but not round the time of Tupac they all do it now. The people that talk bout it now obviosly got it from past rappers Pac, Big, Snoop, Dre. Most of Tupac songs were based on the things that went on round him that he didn't like for example brendaz gota baby bout a young girl dat gets pregnant and later gets shot. What rapper round the time of Pac talked bout a real situation like that in their raps you don't get rappers makin songs for females "keep ya head up", "baby don't cry", "white mans world". Pac is original he didn't bite styles off people, if you look at it most rappers today all sound similar but some how Pac is significant from them and so what if Pac's lyrics only touched young black people that don't matter atleats hes touching something he wanted to help his community thats a gd thing, what other rapper has touched people liek Pac did, you acn't say he ONLY touched a certain group instead say he touched a group of people, cuz i dont see many rappers touching people these days. And I'm sure wit the track "dear mama" not only young blacks were touched but instead drug addicts, mothers, sons/daughters were touched by that song. U got 50 cent, J-kwon, Nelly and llyod banks...U can't put Pac in teh same category as them or n e other rapper because he was differentn thats why I believe a rapper liek Eminem will be remembered for his individuality his styles a lot different to other rappers and i prefer an original good artist to a good immitation of an artist. And Afro cheese the life you lead effects the work you produce he didn't have time to chill in his house remember when he got shot in that hotel and was put in prison charged wit rape its hard to make somthing of yourself when your surrounded by so much negativity, the harder ya life is the better your work could be but can't at teh same time, u could take all teh negativity in your life and put it into work and produce positive outcomes I think thats what Tupac had tried to do, his intentions were never to be the illest ryhmer, thats why I have respect for him because he tried to help people because he didn't like the way he had lived, rappers like Nas, Big, Jay Z etc. all of these rappers flow to show their skill not so much Nas now cuz hes drifted to a more Tupac style wit tracks like "If I ruled The world" and eminem wit "Cleanin out my closet" which is sorta liek "Dear mama".

Well THAKiD, I'll admit that Pac was a very influential rapper, I would've never argued against that point. But being influential and being overrated often go hand in hand. Yes, his work did reach a lot of people, but is it really good enough to be held up on the level that it is? I mean I guess its a matter of opinion. You look at his lyrics and see genius, I don't. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Tha KiD
iight, But I think that don't he deserve all the props he gets. I think thats why he gets them because people feel that he helped them a lot, a lot of rappers work to get money, Pac wanted money no doubt everyone doez but he cared bout the young, his community the last person he cared bout was himself even though he lived a life of struggle he still made Music for us, can n e 1 like that be overated. I can't thank him enough cuz not many thugz care about the world especially the young "seedz" he had love for kids wit no fathers/mothers

darth cyrax really loves tupac^^^

Darth Revan
Did you just completely ignore my last post? Apparently so. Anyways, here are some other rappers/groups who have reached out to help society, with their music or otherwise. Just a few.

KRS-One
Public Enemy
Zack de la Rocha
Immortal Technique
Chuck D
The Roots

Like, I said, these are just a few examples, I know there are many more, but I'm too lazy to type them all out right now... You act as if Tupac is the only one to have done what he did up to that point, and since, which is absolutely not true. Most gangster rappers haven't, that's true, but most gangster rappers aren't very good at all.

Tha KiD
iight maybe them rappers did rap bout there society, poverty etc but didn't have as much as great impact as Pac did...o well thats the way it is. I heard an interview and Tupac said he never called his music gangsta rap but it was labelled that and we know gangsta rap is hardcore rap and if you talk bout real things through gangsta rap its more powerful than hip hop. And I keep usin this example "brendaz gota baby" but we know pac was athug hes been therre so we know he ain't lyin when he talkz bou his hood life but you can't trust other artist to be bein real cuz they myte just talk bout it, but actually have never lived ther or be willin to do something.

Got me a dog and named him mobb-***** nigga eater
??What could they do to me you little brat??
Shit them niggas done shot me
And still terrified I get (HaHaHa) they ass
How can I show you how I feel inside?
We Outlawz mother****ers can't kill my pride

Let it be known I'm troublesome

The fact that he had a big impact doesn't make his message any more relevant. Britney Spears has a big impact.
Tupac may have denied that he was gangsta rap but every other verse he spit, he was yell'n thug life. Anyone who claims "thug life" , imo, is gang affiliated.
Tupac's stage persona was the dark side of Malcolm X's "By any means necessary". I understand that the brutha had it rough and was frustrated with the system that damns him. Does that give him or anyone license to further an "I just don't give a f*ck" gangsta mind-frame. Now you got little bruthas running around the hood yell'n thug life because they think that's what it's about. Malcolm X was about lifting black people from the bottom rung, where we have been placed. By force if necessary. I believe Tupac's warped version of this hurt black people more than anything.
Gangsta rap is a part of hip-hop. Hip-hop includes everything that's happening to the people...Good or bad. It's up to the people to point it in the right direction.
Public Enemy's music was revolutionary minded. Tupac's music is a death drum.

Tha KiD
But his messages were relevant to certain people, u said Tupac tupacs mind frame was "i just don't give a ****" that wasn't him that was what he was made like from the way he had lived, why do you think he always talked bout it, he didn;t say it liek ti was a gd thing, in songs like "shorty wanna be a thug", "outlaw", "one day at a time" many songs, he thought by talking bout the darkside this would start waking up people and they would wanna change things and thats a great thing and that often works the death of Pac n Big shocked many people(darkside) thats why we don't get beef that serios no more rappers keep it on dissin on tracks n dats all. And it isn't true taht he yelled thuglife after every line look at biggie h always yelled "east side" 50 cent "g unit" and alla that every rapper wants people to know where there comin from. And have you seen the video to changes he says something like "I don't say that ima thug cuz i wana go out and rape you, i say I'm a thug because I came from the gutta and I'm still here", he set a good example of a thug he could act, rap and write poetryyour only picking out the bad points of Tupacs life which were developed from his lifestyle but he overcame these, the thing I don't liek is people get the wrong side of Tupac but infact he was very intelligent, caring and a teacher which is hard to see because his background is so dark.

when niccaz speculate what the fukk Pac would say
you don't know sh*t about a deadman's perspective
