I've often wondered about this. I'm sure that we have all felt from time to time that some people are just born with all the luck. But is this true? Are some people luckier than others, or do they make their own luck? While it can be said that some people make their own luck, you then have to look at the person that wins alot at games of chance. I myself have always felt like if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all, whereas my friend seems to live under a lucky star. She's seems to always be in the right place at the right time or winning something etc etc. And if there is such a thing as "luck" where does it come from? What are you guys opinions on this?

Ah BUT Spearbabe, some people just win without doing anything........for example this friend I was talking about.......we have been to like 7 events in the last year where they were giving something away and I swear she has won at 4 of them. And this is out of hundreds of people entering. WHAT CAUSES THIS?

What's there to explain? It's just the term used when something good or bad happens to someone that isn't dependant on them or in their control.

BUt why do some people experience this more than others?

Who knows? It's just luck.

awh..luck? why would someone look at luck more than at the regular randomness of things.

because some people have more that an equal share of randomness than others and it's that very thing I wonder about.

I believe in beginners luck. It happens to me all the time.

It's mostly in the mind. Some people act in ways that cause unfavourable circumstances for themselves.

I believe luck exists to an extent. Not like, predetermined luck. Just on the spot luck.

Like if someone kicks a soccer ball and you turn and see it just in time and you dodge it, people would say "Ohhhh lucky". I think it's just another broad word for coincidence.

if you have 5 balls and in a box. 4 white and one black. and you ask someone to pick one and then put it back. it is thoretically possible..by randomness..that he will pick the balck ball 10 or 100 times in a row. it's merely chance

Just random events and some people seem to get more beneficial random events than others

most things are chance ... but i believe in some luck but somethings are obviously not happening by luck ... if you get wot i mean

well in my opinion you only consider yourself unlucky when you dont get something you want really bad. if you notice the stuff that you have and take for granted you notice how lucky you are. even though these aren't the things you want now, its hard to understand what you'd do without them...if you catch my drift..
