Been wondering about Mystique's scar, which Wolverine gave her: I thought she'd be able to hide it when she was in disguise?? And only show it, when she's her real, very blue self?? Or is there some secret rules about her shapeshifting I need to know??

Mystique's appearance and abilities are well-documented in comics continuity, but in the movie, they make up their own rules. If she didn't die in the fight with Wolverine, she should have been able to heal without scars. Then again, I'm not entirely sure about the time-frame of the sequel. It was less than a year between the stories (in their time). If it was only a matter of weeks, then maybe it's realistic.

yes, but only when i read it in a site i wouldn't remember the way they were in the first film...

i rememberd smth that was sooooooooooo wrong in X2...Mystique walking naked in the snow of Alkali Lake...nobody could do that and still be walking like a model as she did. If she even said "oh, it's cold", but no, she was so natural in that snow...

I have several things I think they shouldn't have done in the X-Men movies:

1) Named Rogue
2) Had Mystique going around naked -What on earth?? She never did this in the comic!!!!-
3) Messed with Rogue's hair
4) Have Rogue and Bobby go out -This really ticked me off-
5) Still don't have Gambit in it
6) And Cyke may be uptight and dull, but he isn't as bad as they make him in the movie!

i think Mystique should be naked(coz her clothes dont have powers, thought of Sen. Kelly with that white thing she wears?) and coz she's beautiful, but not in the snow! That's a little bit too much...

I would have been okay with her running around naked, *if* they wouldn't have carried naked scalie, Mystique into the comics. Granted it was only one issue, but that still annoyed me

In the first film, Logan cuts of her 'claws' when they're fighting ( and she's in a 'Wolverine outfit') How come she hasn't got any wounds afterwards? Or at least, lost some of those scales?

Not sure exactly why, but I'm going to assume that's because they aren't truly a part of her body. That or either they were lazy and didn't want to have missing scales on her

i find the mystique from the movies pretty good
think about it if they do her like the comics.
Fully blue painted (no scales) with a top and short skirt
with a skull on it. IT WOULD BE LAME

Some things work only in comics (Wolverine's costume )

I find the bobby-rogue romance pretty good, not like in the comics
but that isn't really important i think.
The only think i missed was the southern accent of Rogue.
I wanted 2 hear her say "What's ta problem Suga" like in the cartoons

I'm okay with Mystique being scaley, what gets me mad is in an issue of XXM, Rogue had a dream she turned into Mystique, and instead of looking like comic Mystique. She was the one from the movie, that annoyed me

well the whole point of being a shapeshifter is that you can look like
anyone else, clothes wise or not. they actually have control over more than just their bodily appearance.(wolvie wieghs more and has more mass than say mystique(according to all laws of physics.) so where did
that extra mass come from when she cloned him in the movie? she can
grow and shrink at will. the only reason he managed to hurt her was because he caught her offguard when he stabbed her not allowing her to reform to the missing parts, putting her in a state of shock, pain and eventually unconciousness(did you notice there wasnt a pool of blood under her?) after having those claws sliced through you, you'd be a bloody mess(literally..) shapeshifter could change those and everything.

she probably keeps the scars around as a mental reminder or something
like that(infatuation.) or perhaps she cant alter that because her mind has "locked" it in that position from the shock or something../shrug anyways. yeah..

Jeepers Creepers 2 (again WHY? its more a comedy )
The Dreamers (and that i can understand )
Texas ChainSaw Massacre (yeah, lots blood gore, figures)
and the Belgium movie Steve + Sky (coz its about a hooker i believe)

I would suppose the scales are part of her. Aren't they the ones forming the 'new parts' of the person, she chooses to resemble?

Fewer scales would have meant lesser time in the make up room for Romijn-Stamos, though. She might have been pleased.

Here its 6, 12, 16 and 18. Really cant tell the difference between them. Not that it matters cos they dont really check your age.

Another thing that bothers me is Nightcrawler saying: "Someone so beautifull should not be so angry." What's that about??!!!??? Sure, he's got some issues about the way he looks, but I can't help thinking of him as a rather intelligent person, who knows about people and knows that beauty does not protect you from this evil world, and this does not reflect that!

I never read the comics, but I saw a bit of an episode of the cartoon an one thing botered me that was wondering about..... Is Marie(Rouge) evil????

Well she was part of the botherhood before she ever joined the X-Men. Mystique is the person who raised her in the comics. But in the movie it's Logan who finds her.

And another thing with the movie I thought was a little off Rogue held onto John for an awfully long time, shouldn't he have passed out?

.... when she touched Logan in the first movie the guy felt like in a coma and Pyro....... NOTHING....... THAT was so wrong!!!

In the comics, logan has stayed concious, while having adamantium bonded to his skeleton, has stayed concious while being shot by dozens of automatic weapons, and having a shotgun blast to the face which blasted all of the flesh on his face away. He has recently been almost totally burned to death by going to close to the sun. All of this time, he sayed concious, yet in X2, he had one bullet shot to his head, and was immediatly unconcious.

but in da movies the situation is a little different, he isnt that indestructible....the bullet has a huge impact and hurts a lot, maybe that made he stay unconcious...

Since when has logan ever been bothered about pain. The reason why I don't feel as sorry for Logan as I used to, is that he doesn't care wether or not he feels pain, as he is just so used to it that he doesnt mind that somrthing hurts him.

well, maybe he didnt want to fall unconcious, but sometimes it happens so suddenly that you're not ready to avoid it...but maybe you're right too...

I think they watered down all the true powers the characters possess. Once Phoenix comes into the picture, she'll show all the non-fans what kinda power the mutants have! Maybe in X4 or X5 they'll bring in Apocalypse (and Angel). But these guys really do look like sissies. It's going to take Carol Danvers for Rogue to get a freakin' backbone in the movies. Heck, she was even stronger before she absorbed Danvers in the comic book! She started out as a bad guy!

i'm ok if they don put Carol in it (c'mon, too complicated to non fans in a 2-3 hour movie with so many new characters to know the name) i just wanna see fighting scenes and ATTITUDES of a strong woman...

Well she was injured, so she was consuming the power while touching him. Thou she was using Pyros power while absorbing him I do not think it was to the same extent. Plus I think she's learning to control it to some extent.

As it was said a million times before the movie tries to be real. Him being shot and nothing happening would look fake.

I agree with Kes on Logan being shot, it would have looked too fake of for a movie if he just stood there after being shot. And I think the characters were watered down to, but they might also do that to Pheonix, I mean since they're obviously making it a part of her mutation

Why?He is kind. A person that has suffered a lot but became stronger instead of weak. I guess he doesnt understand why she became bitter since she has it so much easier then he did (do to her looks and by that I mean she looks normal). That's the way I see it.

But still, wouldn't he know that the way you look doesn't necessarily make your life easier? Sure, she can dissapear in the crowd easier than he can, but I would still think that he'd be able to understand that she's had a tough life anyway. That even though she looks normal, she must have had her reasons to be as bitter - and frightened - as she is. I'm not saying that he really does not understand this, just that this particular line, in my eyes, gives the opposite impression.

Another thing that sort of annoyed me but at the same time I was happy about was all the mutant names in the computer. I mean I was happy we got to see them, but how did Styker have their names. Wouldn't they have been smarter then to be identified and stuff?

I think probably he had their names because they must have been involved in some type of public incident which identified them as a mutant or someone who know they were a mutant reported them to the police or something.

yeah, when he first got his powers, didn't he used to get cold and shiver and stuff? Then once his powers manifested, he could stand extremly cold temperatures.

It would have made much more sense for that character to have been somebody like john wraith, who actually was a part of the weapon x programme in the comics.

Ya Magneto not only controls magnetizm but the spectrum as well both externally and internally. If you isolate him in a plastic prison without a nullification device, he can whip up his very own feild. Now if the prison itself generated the device then the way they freed him wouldn't have worked. He should have had on a set of manicals that dampend his powers.

I was also annoyed by the extras, I mean in one they had Jubilee using her powers, and they looked like lightning, but she doesn't shoot lightning. She shoots out fireworks

I thought it was a bit odd in the first movie when they were in the statue of Liberty and Scott asked Logan to prove he was the real one. Logan called him a dick, and Scott just said, "Okay." I mean I would have blown him through the wall for that

THAT WAS SO WRONG. I want to an XMEN movie made someday not BLACK LEATHER MEN which is what this movie SHOULD have been called.

Yeah but if the X-men where running around in spandex it would destroy the reality image that Singer was trying to portray, by giving them costumes that resembled something that could be worn it makes the movie more believable

I understand the need for change of the costumes, but I would have still rather seen them in their original costuems.

If I remember correctly Collider, Singer is also one of the writers, which I don't believe was that good of a thing. I remember him saying in an interview that before this project he had never read a single X-Men title.

LOL True they could have done it like the comics, it would probably fail miserably and look pathetic but it could have been done. I saw a trailer for a spanish movie, which is an adaptation of a comic, and they did it like the comic. It looked funny has hell (i'm still looking for the movie to see) but then that was what the comics were...comedy.

They only wear brightly coloured spandex in the comics because readers can identify the character quickly, in the real world, if you are gonna do shit like they really do, you are gonna want protection, not flimsy spandex

I think alot of time and effort went into the costuming for the movie, in that they were black, bot only is this functional in that they don't stick out like sore thumbs when they are snaeking around, but it also ties in with one of the original simile's of hte X-men, the plight of the African american for civil liberties.

All that said storms costume could have been a bit more stylish and aerodynamic, but i don't think they have enough of a grasp of her character at all, hence "Do you know what happens to a toad when it gets struck by lightning........................................ The same thing that happens to everything else" -worst line ever *cringe* *cringe*

better would have been "how unfortunate for you toad you were intelligent enough to grasp onto a metal pole in the midst of a lightning storm" or something to that effect and I wasn't even trying there.

P.S. they aren't spandex in the comics they are actually a metal and polymer meche except for Rahne Sinclair's costume which had to be made of compatible fibers so she could morph to wolf form and back again without becoming naked.

So is that the materials making up their costumes? I knew it was some sort of fabric armor, but not it's cotents.

I think the whole Scott listening to...that...boyband group (forgot which one it was) was just plain wrong

i think that the way she spoke was bad, but it's not such a bad line to me...she was kinda joking, but if she spoke it right could look more 'believable'. For me, the she way spoke it made it look crap. She was too serious (ok Storm is serious, but even joking?), wanted it to be a powerful line, when it was only a 'joke'.

Nah quit clinging to the crap line people. Storm only ever got one line that was a joke from what I can recall it was in XMEN TAS and it was meant to be bad.

And she would say something like that cos she was pissed and was showing off her power. It has to be the coolest scene in the movie. Finally Storm showing she is in fact on of the most powerful mutats.

yeh, it "would" be one of the best scenes, what unfortunately became famous not because of special effects or the effect of the scene, but coz has one of the worst lines evah...
i thought it was so great when she would go and say
"Fog, obey the goddess of wind and cover this place with your power!" in the cartoons, but in movie would really suck.

At the very beginning of X2, who was the guy in space?
Was it eternity or maybe Xavier's astral form?

I think that the one scene that they should have left in was when xavier (aparrently) escapes, as it shows how he could have so easily been tricked into helping the little girl search for the mutants. It would have made a lot more sense to have left that scene in

Did anybody notice in the X2 DVD bonus disc, there were some galleries which showed the possible film version designs for Angel(archangel) and the sentinals.

In x2, when magneto is in his cell, wouldn't he be able to control magnetic fields outside of the cell to free himself?

I think so. I mean, he does control ALL kinds of magnetic fields, doesn't he?? Or am I confusing him with Polaris?? I dunno. There powers change so often

their powers are similar. only magneto's are more diverse. while he can also control energy forms, polaris is mostly limited to magnetic fields.

I think she did that when she fried sabretooth at central station, fighting "the tongue toad" -not her shining moment.
