PJ is...

Bennett
...a dishevelled, horrible, dirty troll of a man. I mean come on, PJ, it's the Oscars. You could have, at the very least, showered and attempted to comb your rat's nest. I feel bad for the poor souls who had to sit next to this sloppy, rancid specimen during the show.
Discos
and yet....your still a newbie
Discos - his wife is not bad
Schizo Freak
who cares what he looked like he was there wasnt he? he was honored enough to be there and he was keeping with his hobbit style you are lucky he was wearing shoes. that would have been great if he didnt wear any though.
#1Orli Luvr! $$
PJ, whose that I didn't get to watch the whole Oscars last night. Srry if this qustion sounds stupid!
Iirima
Naw, it's an easy answer, but no one should think that you're stupid! PJ is Peter Jackson. And btw, I entirely agree with you, Schizo Freak!
#1Orli Luvr! $$
Awwww! Darn! I was about to reply that I thought it was Peter Jackson! I should have! I mean PJ who else could it have been! Where is my head today?
Discos
You cant be serious? The oscars, wow big deal lets spend thousands on a dress.
I was at the Oscars and nominated for an award and whatnot I would probably end up wearing my kilt!
Disco - the scottish kilt never fails!
Kitoky
But really, does looks really matter? They only dress up and look prissy because they care about what people think about them. PJ always wore shorts to the film shoots even when it was 20 degrees outside, so? He achieved his dream in making the trilogy real, and he was honored for that, I mean I really wasn't expecting a bow-tie and he didn't, he just wore a tie.
I half-expected him to wear his trademark shorts again,
. I would've been laughing. And Fran was sitting next to him and I think she was content so as long as you didn't 'have' to sit by that 'sloppy, rancid specimen' don't complain about it oh one whom wields a one tracked mind.
And also, well Billy Boyd wore a kilt to the Golden Globes, did that change anything? Nooooooooooooo. They still got the award for Oustanding Cast Performance in an Ensemble Movie.
Discos
yay! Kit is back,
Discos - kilt never fails
#1Orli Luvr! $$
Hey, is any one there? Heloooooo!!!!!!!!
I'm getting kind'a bord waiting here.
Iirima
yeah...here...but I think all's been said that needs to be said...
Discos
erm, what exactly are you waiting for? don;t boss me around or tartan shall be the last thing you shall see!
Discos - newbie
Kitoky
If you're bored go to the PotC forum and drool with your sickly specimens there.
Schizo Freak
what is all this prejudice towards newbie's? is there a wound deep down that you are needing to talk about Discos?
Kitoky
Newbies are usually the ones that A) Never read the rules or B) Annoy us to all ends of hell, especially Orli lovers.
Iirima
No, it's just sometimes they don't know their place and disrespect the older members, and think it's okay. They don't read the rules, yuck. And fangirls scare the hell outta me...neway, will stop rambling...
And also I think it's discomfort for some who don't know the newbie very well...
Muahaha.
#1Orli Luvr! $$
Thank you Schizo Freak. I didn't mean any thing by what I said Srry!
Iirima
AGREE! Especially on the second point, and also the first, but the second...erg...*shudder*
Exa
This is something, ehem, unfortunately quite common in forums. Most "veteran" members (hey I do not refer to anybody but to most forums in general!) naturally have prejudices about newbies who ask silly questions or something (again not referring to anybody special). What most of them usually forget is that one day they also were newbies and maybe sad because older members looked down on them.
But, well, bout the topic... indeed PJ doesnt look like all the other prissy glamorous glittering actors there. But, really, could you imagine him like that? No. He is as he is and thats the best way and actually Im totally happy that he didnt just run with the stream of glittery glimmery shiny oscar night (which as do not really like). thanks, pj. and congratulations again
Discos
Discos - I said I would "try" to change
shadowy_blue
Hhhmm..I expected something like this will happen once ROTK swept the Oscars.
Many people, especially the LOTR fans were ecstatic and almost on top of the world, but many people also (even those who actually enjoyed the LOTR movies and behind their hearts are admiring PJ for what he did) will still contradict. Nobody can please everybody so they say. I've already said this kind of post but I will repeat it again. When anything, even a film, a person, or an object is so well liked and received by a majority of people, it is inevitable that the self-perceived social malcontent will animatedly dislike it for that reason alone.
This will be my last post in this thread. I'm tired of this. I'm still in Cloud 9 so far with all the wins that we've got from the Oscars and I intend to enjoy it to the fullest.
Kitoky
I got here first! I get the fame of telling this person off first!
LegolasLover411
Who is PJ????
Iirima
peter jackson...and who cares how he dresses, God, some ppl! *shakes head sadly*
PippinTook
Amen, Kit, and everyone who stood up for PJ
Bless ya!
PJ is Peter Jackson, LL411
*sigh* Yet another newbie, yet another fight....
First of all, PJ is the best director there is and he seems like a wonderful person. Second of all, he can wear whatever he wants. No one's making him wear a certain thing. Third of all, if I ever get to go to the Oscars (I'm thinking of becoming an actress, mainly because of Billy haha), I'm definately not wearing a freakin dress. I can't stand dresses. *shudders* And, like Discos, I'd probably wear a kilt haha. Although I'm not Scottish (even though I'd like to be
), the day I meet Billy Boyd, I'm gonna get him to sign a kilt (I have it all planned out haha...the day I meet him, I mean) that I will buy and I'd wear that to the Oscars
Even though I dispise dresses and skirts...But it's a kilt! Kilt's are different! Haha. And I applaud (sp?) PJ. He doesn't follow the crowd and he wears what he's comfortable in. Bravo, Peter! Bravo! *claps* And he almost took off his shoes during the awards, too haha. If any of you watched the after show thing on E!, you would have seen the interview with him. I recorded it cause I couldn't stay up that late (freakin school night, you know), but I watched it today and some reporter asked PJ if he wore his shoes throughout the whole thing and he said yeah, but it was "uncomfortable as hell" haha! Well said PJ
And I, personally, thought PJ looked great at the awards. You just don't know what you're talking about, you stupid newbie, Bennett....K, I'm done
Smodden
in my opp.....pj looks great
and i don't realy care what he looks like,
Isilcal
Im not going to say anything....
Just kidding
PJ is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont care wut he looks like!
*Georgina_A*
Peter Jackson should be able to dress any way he wants and not have people like you going on about how he looked like riff raff or whatever you said. He is one of the best directors of our time! So just get over yourself.
Bar-en-Danwedh
the friend I was watching it with and I laughed so hard when his earlier works were being mentioned and some one in the audience yelled out "whoo!"
i so badly want to know who it was!!!
Discos
erm....I told him off second
Discos - wants some glory
pip-foot
I think he looked perfect. I agree Exa. He just wouldn't look right all dressed up fancy. he was an amazxing director and he got rewarded for it. I like that he doesnt care what other people think. those people who buy like million dollar dresses and milllion dollar hair cuts annoy me. it shouldnt matter how you look. nowadays people are so absorbed in what htier wearing or how their hari is cut. The majoratiy dont want to stand out or be unique, they want to dress up fancy, because everyone else is. I respect PJ for not going overboards like most others and just being himself, which is just the way he looked, Like PJ, like a hobbit
Ok, i know i was rambling on
I'm sorry
Phoenix
PJ's dress sense is fine! He's a Hobbit!
sauron
why do people dress up......i mean come on they want attention.....
PJ is PJ its his TRADEMARK to have his biiiig shaggy hobbit hair....the same way its sean beans trademark for the mention of sharpe....(will not go into it as will probably kill exa as me and kit neakry did last time lol)
Camellia
So what if he isn't dressed smartly? And who is to say that this means that he isn't clean?!?!?
And besides, that shouldn't matter. He clearly has a heart of gold and is probably as kind a man as you could ever wish to meet. That is all that matters.
Anyway, just take a look at some of the other actors/actresses. For example: Ian McKellen wasn't clean shaven - does that make him unclean and scruffy???
Ok, I'm done now
Kitoky
and you didn't agree with me?
I see how you are.
aniron
ok I've stuck up for newbies so far, but this one takes the biscuit!
PJ is a genius, a great fan of tolkien, and a man that we have to thank for the trilogy we see today on our television screens!
You may think that film making and hollywood is about air head sparkling dresses and what ppl look like, but I have news for you, it isn't, it is about making great films, which is exactly what peter jackson did - THANK YOU PETER!!!!!
PippinTook
Peter is great. I think everyone should love him for dressing how he wants to dress. He is original and unique and I love him for it. If I even get the chance to go to the Oscars, I'm either wearing jeans or a kilt. I don't give a damn about what the press or critics or anyone else says and neither does PJ. He's a brilliant director and he doesn't care what people think. I admire him so much for being an individual and not following the stupid mindless zombie crowd of fashion and popularity. I bow to you, Peter. *bows*
OK, who in here hates that stupid Abercrombie & Fitch store? *raises hand* You know, the brand that all those lame preps and jocks wear all the time? Well, if anyone here hates the brainwashing store as much as I do, please go to abercrombie.com and go to contact us at the bottom and complain. I'm trying to get as many people as possible to writes complaints to them so it will, hopefully, die. And I know this has nothing to do with LOTR, but what with the PJ thing, it seemed appropriate. Sowwy Kit and mah, but I just had to post it. And now, back to LOTR...........
Smodden
did you guys see Jack Black? he was just as scruffy and trolly as pj....nobody said anything bout him.....so stop pickin' on pj....!!!
Kitoky
Go smod.
Phoenix
PJ is a Hobbit. Hobbits rule. Therefore, PJ rules.
'nuff said.
Kitoky
Dude Phoe, PJ's TOM BOMBADIL! Em....which means PJ's the Witch King! GO PJ!
pip-foot
sorry, I just agreed with the most recent person to post, but i only saw the first page, adn i didnt read it all
i was too lazy yesterdy
I agree with KIT
Ushgarak
Gosh, there is a serious sense of humour failure around here. Lighten up guys!
aniron
I don't think this is sense of humour, the person should know how angry pl would get. -by the way HI ush haven't see ya around lately.
Kitoky
This isn't humour Ush.
Smodden
humour? i don't see any humour......
Leggy_n_Merry
The newbie shouldn't have written it in the first place! Anyway these forums are to discuss points about the movies and all that and Bennett wrote that PJ looked scruffy which was totally wrong
which made all you people mad which it was obviously going to do! The people who criticise the movies know that we're all going to go mad so that must be the reason why they do it! I agree with all you people in here very good points made
thumbs up to that!!
Discos
erm *realizes he is humour fueled most of the time*
Discos - erm...boobs?
Phoenix
*pokes*
grrr... PJ is our special hobbit, and noone can insult him!
*pokes again, feels bad and hugs instead*
Ushgarak
(hugs back)
And frankly, I think you will find that there was a mocking tone rather than serious critique in that original post!
Phoenix
*waves finger warningly*
repeat after me... PJ... is... our... special... Hobbit!
Leggy_n_Merry
PJ...is...our...special...Hobbit!
There I did it
pip-foot
Pj is our special hobbit
HannaBananabal
HAHA, this is funny... but I liked PJ the way he always is... it's his trademark.
Discos
he reminds me of this guy I know, he is big.....but gentle
Kitoky
He's really childlike and that's why I like him. One minute he's all business and the next he's screaming because there's a Weta on his leg.
sauron
i like him because he is small and cooky he like....cut his own hair on the set...always in his shorts....
Curious George
On the Oscars night Peter wore a Versace suite. Everyone kept nagging him to button his top button. Just to shut them all up Peter ripped off the button. Peter Jackson is a Movie Making Genius and a Great Bloke with a string of Major Awards.
Melani
how could you say such a thing.. like the way he looks sets him apart from all the other directors and i like how he looks .... anywho its your post and you have a rite to post your opinion
pip-foot
I found this article on contact music news and i loved it
ELIJAH WOOD was left puzzled by LORD OF THE RINGS director PETER JACKSON while shooting the fantasy trilogy - he couldn't believe the movie-maker's lack of interest in his appearance.
Wood worked with Jackson for almost two years in New Zealand on the acclaimed films, and was stunned to see how little care the film-maker took in his hair - which he "never" combed.
He says, "Occasionally he'd cut (his hair) and he'd cut it himself. He'd cut his hair when it would get a little too scraggly or too knotty. He'd cut it and then it would be short and unkempt.
"He also, when he eats, allows food to get stuck in his beard. You'll mention it and he'll say, 'No, it's good for later for a little snack!'
"He's amazing. He just doesn't care, which is wonderful. It's incredibly endearing."
Look at the last line and it compleatly proves our point.
lol
