well, yeah in WWI France was torn to pieces, but in WWII it was barely touched... only 400,000 dollars worth of damage. Take in the fact( or a least consider) that the allies of WWI blamed EVERYTHING on germany, and deprived of an army, thus making it vurnerable, and basically inviting hitler to gain his popular place in society....

If anyones got a reason to complain about maltreatment after WW2 its Poland they were basically traded to our enemy after the war... we overlooked Russias aggression in the beginning of the war

don't give them too much credit, if it wasn't for Russia stopping Hitler, the states would have been swept away
and for your information, the Canadian Army liberated us, they combined forced with Canadians (duh), Polish, Brittish, Dutch and Belgian forces

usa stayed out of the war for two years which was nice of em...they only joined in when they got attacked by the japs.....oh and if ure country got bombed to death then probably britain would of gave u new homes.....i cant see your point anyway

i have german/ polish roots, thus my last name: franz.

We had no reason to get involved during the initial conlfict and we supplied the Allies with everything they survived on our grain our ammo our machine parts... our oil... Britian was over with and starved to death nerely... at one point Britian had one months supply of food at the heigt of the submarine conflict.

yersott... who lost 6,000 me on D-day? sure the russians took the other half. If we(US) didnt attack France, the the Nazis coulda easily ran the Russians outta town. And what about Japan, hmm? were were our friendlys there? yeah, we didnt rescue the holocaust vitcims, but we sure helped make it easy for those who did.

if you're dying to make a comparison, compare it with the Battle of Stalingrad: 1.1 million soldiers and 100 000 civilians

if you would look at least a bit to the history you would know it's thanks to Russia that the WW ended! THEY stopped Germany, NOT the states. The eastfront was halted and they simply couldn't move further. The Us just took had the luck to take away the prize of "freedom fighter", they only joined when they were attacked, if you say america saved our asses, I say you gotta study history before discussing this

That was their war! The Nazi's bombing the UK or France was their business. Americans kept protesting agains't the US entering WWII. The only reason the Americans ended up fighting the Nazi's was because they were allies with Japan. The US should have been smarter than that. Nazi's wanted to wipe out lands that was their business, and that was something the British and the French should have dealt with. America should have stay out.

Simple! He was full of himself! Can you imagine his allies reading that nonsense? They would tell him to *bleep* off! Hitler had to change some of his views in order to keep his allies with him.

I mean come on! He wanted a pure Aryan race, but Asians don't cut it. What would you think the Japs said when they read his Aryan race policy? They prolly said "Heck no! This guy is nuts!" So, Hitler had to change some things in order to keep his friends in war. Simple!

Unfourtunetly Japan also saw them selves as pure and Hitler divided the riches of the earth amngst his allies.... Japan would take Asia while Italy wanted to make a second Roman empire in Africa. Hitler wanted mainland Europe... he respected Britian and offered to Sign peace with them many times but they refused and Operation Sealion was attempted but the Battle of Britian angered him and he turned on his original target Russia.

The Japanese wanted power in Asia and the Pacific. Yes, the Americans were in their way of their invasion with Maui and Hawaii. So eventually they had to attack Pearl Harbor in order ensure the Americans wouldn't use that base of operations.

But as I said early, The Americans should had ignore the Pearl Harbor attack. It was too obvious that it would trigger a confrontation with the Nazi's. There were Americans that kept protesting about America entering the war. I don't blame them for protesting. I would had say the same thing. Let the Nazi's fight their war with Europe. WWI was a good example that America was better off by not intefering.

I can understand the thread of the Nazi's on the rest of the Europeans nations...but ah well, it was their war to begin with. The way I see it America should have minded their own business and ignore WWII.

The Rusians was on the verge of single handedly crushing the Germans, after d-day it was a race between the allied of the west and Russia. The race was which side could get the furthest into Europe. The allied from the west tried as hard as they could to get as far east as they could to hold the Russian advance toward the west to a minimum.
