CHRIS PENN, who is the younger brother of SEAN PENN and star of movies like 'Reservoir Dogs' and 'Starsky & Hutch' has died.

Investigators were on the scene Tuesday, where Penn was found dead in Santa Monica, CA. He was 43.

Penn played the role of Nice Guy Eddie in QUENTIN TARANTINO's 1992 cult hit 'Reservoir Dogs'; he also appeared in the movie 'Rush Hour' and on episodes of the television shows "Entourage" and "Everwood."

Penn is survived by his mother, EILEEN RYAN, and brothers Sean and MICHAEL.

Some official news from imdb.com

Chris Penn: 1962-2006

Actor Chris Penn, brother of Sean Penn and star of such films as Reservoir Dogs and Mulholland Falls, was found dead Tuesday at a condominium in Santa Monica; he was 43. Few details were released surrounding Penn's death late Tuesday afternoon, though sources reported there were no signs of foul play, and an autopsy was to be conducted to determine the cause of death. A spokesperson for the Penn family confirmed the actor's passing and released a statement saying that Penn's family "would appreciate the media's respect of their privacy during this difficult time." The son of director Leo Penn and actress Eileen Ryan, Penn was the younger brother of Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn and musician Michael Penn, and began his acting career in the early 80s, appearing in such films as Rumble Fish, All the Right Moves, and Footloose; he appeared alongside his brother in the 1986 film At Close Range. Penn went on to specialize in working-class character roles, achieving fame for his portrayal of Nice Guy Eddie Cabot in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs as well as such films as Short Cuts, The Funeral (for which he received an Independent Spirit Award nomination), and Mulholland Falls. Most recently, he appeared in the film version of Starsky & Hutch as well as episodes of TV series Entourage and Everwood, and his latest film, The Darwin Awards, was slated for a premiere Wednesday night at the Sundance Film Festival. --Prepared by IMDb Staff

Deathblow
Wow I hadn't heard about this, that's really really sad. He was such a unique character. It's a criminal shame he passed away so young as well, I had always imagined him going on to achieve greater things as he got older, seeing as Reservoir Dogs' cult following is growing year by year.

My favorite Nice Guy Eddie moment ( I can't remember the exact words) has to be when Mr White asks him to get a doctor for Mr Orange;

''OK, I'll call somebody''
''Who?''
''A f*ckin... snake charmer!!!''

So why in the religion forum? Would you like him prayed for? confused

debbiejo
He's dead isn't he.......how could prayer help....

AOR
Depends to what you believe pray to attribute to. Since I'm Catholic I believe in a place called Purgatory. People still needed prayer there...

debbiejo
Should we raise him from the dead? I don't believe in purgatory, infact it's not even in the bible......

Let's just raise him from the dead....

Jack Daniels
for the penn family.... you never had any one die?...damn...lol....anyways we have a kid who really really digged him...so thanx for not bashing ....u guys just doing normal...lol.....penn family I know did have history...this was for the kid mainly...but lets not raise hopes about raising the dead...lol

What the hell? Chris Penn was awesome. Why is everyone all of a sudden DYING?

DarkWizard
What the ****!?

He was a great actor! His line at the end of RD was legendary!

Nice Guy Eddie: The man you just killed was just released from prison. He got caught at a company warehouse full of hot items. He could've ****in' walked. All he had to do was say my dad's name, but he didn't; he kept his ****ing mouth shut. And did his ****in' time, and he did it like a man. He did four years for us. So, Mr. Orange, you're tellin' me this very good friend of mine, who did four years for my father, who in four years never made a deal, no matter what they dangled in front of him, you're telling me that now, that now this man is free, and we're making good on our commitment to him, he's just gonna decide, out of the ****ing blue, to rip us off? Why don't you tell me what really happened?

MildPossession

To correct you, He was 40. The cause of death is unknown but the answers are openly accepted. I've heard (On TV) that it could be anywhere from natural causes, weight, to a drug addiction. They have/are performing an autopsy and say it could be weeks before they find anything out. erm
I didn't know him from many roles. I knew him from Beethoven 2 and Corky Romano but he did great in both. I'm devastated just thinking of how Sean's taking this?! erm
