I like this series collect all the issues so far.why didnt i make a thread like this.

i think emma in this series is a ***** and does not deserve to be with cyclops. shes just with cyclops too get good with the x-men until *POW* emma betrays them all.

I doubt that they'll bring any other characters in, Whedon stated that he wanted to keep it simple, that's why he choose who he did. Their powers are easy to understand, aren't complex, and don't raise too many questions

Astonish is primed for battle with Jean's foe's. That's what i think they're getting at. When the Phoenix does return, that will be the teams primary adversary. So who would want to destroy the Phoenix. Someone interested in Scott and his power, his optic blast.
Keep an eye on Cyclops in this book. Who he runs into and where he blasts that eye beam. It might foretell who they will face.

i just read issue 5 of astonishing x-men and it was ok.

I'm just curious as to who people would like to see on the Astonishing team now that they have brought in a new member(check issue 5 preview). Personally I would like to see Archangel, mainly because I think that would cause tension between himself and Cyclops over leadership. Plus, if memory serves me well, they haven't been in the same X-Men squad for a very long time.

But then again, I think the team needs some more firepower, they've already got enough strength (Wolverine, Beast, Diamond Emma, and check issue 5 for the last one). A new member with firepower could possibly be Chamber or Dazzler.

Please share some ideas.

I agree, but I think Emma is starting to grow on me. I despised her when she took Scott away from Jean, but I don't know anymore. Maybe I just have to wait for the day Jean comes back from the dead again and kicks the s*** out of Emma.

Ok the surprise ending is SHIELD IS WORKING WITH ORD AND THE BENETECHLAB TO CREATE THE SERUM THAT ORD INJECTED IN THE KID IN ISSUE 4 CURED HIM!!!!!!! and also the ashes that they spread in russia wasent him so dont think they like builded some machine to bring back the dead.

Hey Shadow_King, I don't know if we're still allowed to chat in this thread, but to make it last out, how dare Emma Frost, EMMA FROST of all people call Jean a cow. She's so lucky she's got psychic powers.

Another suggestion for a new member could be Magik (Illyanna Rasputin), I reckon it would be kick-a** if she joined. That way Kitty could have a cool friend, but Colossus is just as good.

I am very curious to know what sheild has to do with ord and the new cure.

If this is possible, can anyone tell how Colossus came back to life, or how he didn't really die. If you could do this, it is very much appreciated. Also, could someone please post a full body shot of Colossus in the Astonishing series.

well it doesnt really explain how he came back to life its just that the person they cremated was not him. and some how ord i guess builded some technology which could bring him back alive. and ord said to colossaus was "Congradulations peter rasputin your death has saved mutantkind from the legacy virus and now you will pay for that with your life."

I'd like to see ArcAngel join anyone, I think he'd fit well with the group. Astonishing X-Men is basically the P.R. field team. Warren's a millionair playboy. He could be their Tony Stark, charming the media and getting more acceptance.

He usually hasn't participated much in mutant teams, but I'd like to see Quicksilver on the team. He's been in limbo recently, showing up here and there in Avengers. Having a known Avenger on the team would again help with P.R. and relations between the X-Men and non-mutant super teams. He was also exposed to Isotope E a mutagenic compound which drastically increased his powers. With the current fad of secondary mutations, I'd like to see how his power evolves. It might be ripping off Kingdom Come flash, but seeing Pietro as pure vibratory speed energy would be cool, I think. On page his character could always has a blurred field around it demonstrating how his molecules are constantly moving at rapid speeds.

As stated above Dazzler would be cool too. I'd love to see Psylocke back, but I think her character would be better suited to the adjectiveless X-Men, dangerous field missions and whatnot.

With Wolverine joining the Avengers, I hope to see him leave the X-books, which would open up a prime slot on the Astonishing roster. I don't want to see their team number swell up to much past where it is. Then I think it would start to lose cohesion between the characters and in the story.

I'm surprised they didn't put Warren on any team. Whose there to be your guardian Angel? The best thing they've got for that job is Emma Frost lol. btw, is Wolverine joining the Avengers? When did this happen? I'm not a big fan but all of the X teams are going to need a replacement, after all, he is on every team.

platform they are redoing the avengers and wolvie is joining as is spiderman. id be happy to help with your site any way i can, but i dont know much of the astonishing series.

They introduced/are introducing X-23 in Uncanny, so that's likely to be Wolvie's replacement in that team. He doesn't really need one in Adjectiveless X-Men, as they have enough members already.

He will be joining the Avengers in December I think, in New Avengers #1 with Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Spider-Woman, Captain America, Sentry and Iron Man.

Although I'm not too thrilled with the deluge of titles at the moment, I do have to say that most of them aren't badly done. In fact I enjoyed Nightcrawler's first issue, and am fairly curious to see what the writer is doing with this. Kurt's not a detective, nor should he be around traumatized children, but something odd is going on, and from interviews and his handling of the character, I can tell the writer really loves this character. So hopefully it all turns out well. There seem to be some flirtations between Kurt and Storm, which I'm not too thrilled with. I just don't see them as a good couple. I'd rather have Kurt take the well endowed night nurse out for a date. After all the time in that heavily starched collar, he should definatly work some magic on the lady folk.

But this is rapidly getting off-topic.

So how about that Lockheed?

When was the last time Lockheed spoke? Maybe I missed it, but I haven't seen him talk yet in Astonishing. Does he usually keep this ability under wraps?

Yes, Lockheed talks. Mostly to Pete Wisdom, as he was not particularly fond of Wisdom, and saw him as a bad influence upon Kitty.

The story arc isn't over yet, but I think what it boils down to is, he's been hired by the X-Men (astonishing team) to help take down Cable. I'm not exactly sure why they gave him the new costume, besides placing bets on how he reacted to it when he woke up with it on.

I think they should completely reform the X-Men. One team to represent them. None of this 80 incarnations. It shouldn't be Wolverine & Buddies, it should be the X-Men. Deadpool joining would be ****ing amazing, him and Wolverine, the comedic value of Torch/Thing times 100.

The whole Deadpool with the Astonishing X-Men is happening in the current Cable/Deadpool arc--Burnt Offerings happening in issues 7-10. 11 and 12 is a two parter which deals with the repercussions of Cable's acts and it guest stars the Fixer! Effin' A!

Ord revived him with sciences beyond that of meer regular ol' Earth Joes. They then kept him around to test/torture. Though not stated in so many words, I'm guessing they were able to modify the anti-bodies that cured the Legacy Virus into curing mutancy. Colossus was a primo case of these anti-bodies, and no one would miss him, as he was "dead". The Colossus that the X-Men cremated and spread in Russia was just a fake body or something.

No gambit is not involved with AX and i think professor x is in genosha doing his business.
