Note....
*Joy Division Lyrics
loserib
never heard of them
amity75
I love Joy Division and New Order. Ian Curtis's death had a greater impact on me than John Lennons.

Warsaw
3,5,0, 1,2,5, Go!
I was there in the backstage
When first light came around
I grew up like a changeling
To win the first time around
I can see all the weakness
I can pick all the faults
Well I concede all the faith test
Just to stick in your throats
3 1 G, 3 1 G, 3 1 G
I hung around in your soundtrack
To mirror all that you've done
To find the right side of reason
To kill the three lies for one
I can see all the cold facts
I can see through your eyes
All this talk make no contact
No matter how hard we tried
3 1 G, 3 1 G, 3 1 G,
I can still hear the footsteps
I can see only walls
I slide into your man-traps
With no hearing at all
I see just contradiction
Had to give up the fight
Just to live in the past tense
To make belief you were right
3 1 G, 3 1 G, 3 1 G 3,5,0,1,2,5.

Its good to see another Ian Curtis fan- Amity.
I'll probably post some lyrics and pictures every day or so. If anyone has a request just let me know and its done, enjoy, also feel free to post some facts or pictures in relation the Ian Curtis or Joy Division , it would be great.
Take care.
amity75
I've got this poster on my wall.

One of the most intelligent and creative people.
-Stiff-Kitten-
Yeah there was somthing so beautiful about him physically too.
An amazing man.||
Did you notice that towards the end (I mostly noticed it in the last Album "Closer"

that thier music moved away from the new wave type sound toward more syth compositions?
The Eternal - is a beautiful song from "Closer", and shows the change fairly clearly if you contrasted it to warsaw or most songs from "Substance"
note: when listening to the eternal keep your ears picked for a beautiful little piano sequence that trips through.
-Stiff-Kitten-
another note: Ian Curtis: Birthday on 15th July (1956)
loserib
thats a trip i was born in 80
smittenkitten
Never heard of Joy Division? My word. Have you been in a cave?
*sigh*
"Music fans" today are so pathetic.
-Smitten Kitten-
loserib

smittenkitten
"haha thats funny im pathetic becuese i dont know some band whos lead singer died the year i was born well i guese i will just keep being pathetic no way id check em out now"
Well, that's all very fascinating, but since that's not what I said, it's really quite irrelevant. And feel free to not check them out; I'm not sure why you think I'd care. Your loss, really.
Real music fans tend to have a basic knowledge of a vast array of bands and artists, including artists that were highly influential to the current music scene. So, in short, I hope you don't call yourself a real music fan.
The disaffected youth is so touchy!
-Smitten Kitten-
loserib
oh so now im not a real muisc fan cuese i never heard about some coward who could not handle life you know i came into this thread to maby learn about a band i never heard before
instead i get called pathetic and told im not a fan of real music
well for your information i am a musicain and a big fan of muisc all kinds
btw suicide is for pussy's
smittenkitten
Did you think I would be offended by your idiotic views of suicide?
For a 'musicain and a big fan of muisc all kinds,' how limited is your knowledge?
Why do you care what I say?
-Smitten Kitten-
Barf Heaven
*sigh*
If there's one thing I can't stand, it's when people bash other members. I haven't heard of them either, and I think that if you asked everyone on this site, most people would say the same thing. So far we have seen... How many? THREE people who have even heard of him.
I'm sure they're quite good. However, there is no need to flame people because they haven't heard of one band. There are undoubtedly great bands you've never heard of either. But does that mean you're not a music fan? Absolutely not. Same goes for loserib here. So leave him alone.
smittenkitten
Know what I hate?
When people get on the cross and start preaching. You can feel free to order me around all you want, but I'm not sure why you think a) I would listen, b) I would care, or c) you have some sort of pull with me. So get down; somebody needs the wood, and magnanimity doesn't suit you anyway.
What's so funny is that most people on this forum, on this site, have no idea what good music is. You get people praising Evanescence and Linkin Park. It's hilarious. Maybe it's because this site is for movies. Either way, it's funny and sad all at once.
-Smitten Kitten-
Sigillum_Diaboli

i hate evanescense .. and i wont even start on linkin park

loserib
i cant stand either of those bands
and thanks barf your my hero
Barf Heaven
I hate both those bands
And you want to know why you should care? Well lemme think here... Maybe it's because uh... You could get banned for that? Just a thought.
Anyways, I really don't feel like a flame war right now so I'm just going to stay clear of the music forum for a couple days until you get so sick of all the "music fans" that you decide to leave.
And loserib--just doin me job

mechmoggy
Well I like Joy Division, I think they're a class act.
But lets all please stop the petty arguments, it only leads to bad blood between members and I don't like having to close threads.
loserib
hey all i did was say ive never heard of them before
mechmoggy
I'm not pointing fingers at anyone. I just like everyone to play nicely, it makes my job much easier.

-Stiff-Kitten-
NO LOVE LOST
So long sitting here
Didn't hear the warning
waiting for the tape to run
We've been moving around in different situations
Knowing that the time would come
Just to see you torn apart
Witness to your empty heart
I need it, I need it, I need it
Through the wiring screen, the eyes of those standing outside
looking in at her as into the cage of some creature in a zoo
In the hand of one of the assistants she saw the same instrument
which they had that morning inserted deep into her body.
She shuttered instinctively
No life at all in the house of dolls
No love lost, no love lost
You've been seeing things
In darkness, not in learning
Hoping that the truth will pass
No life underground, wasting never changing
Wishing that this day won't last
To never see you show your age
To watch until the beauty fades. I need it
I hope you like the Lyrics I am posting, anyone got a request?
(Heres a Picture of me for a change)
-Stiff-Kitten-
Sorry if i burnt out anyone's eyes, here is something beautiful....
amity75
Love will tear us apart lyrics please. (Good photo by the way)
Corlindel
Atmosphere
Walk in silence
Don't walk away, in silence
See the danger
Always danger
Endless talking
Life rebuilding
Don't walk away
Walk in silence
Don't turn away, in silence
Your confusion
My illusion
Worn like a mask of self-hate
Confronts and then dies
Don't walk away
People like you find it easy
Naked to see
Walking on air
Hunting by the rivers
Through the streets
Every corner abandoned too soon
Set down with due care
Don't walk away in silence
Don't walk away

One of my top songs ever...Atmosphere.
One of my top bands ever Joy Division...And Ian curtis was the soul.
New Order is a joke and just a funny band compared to Joy Division.
amity75
No way! New Order are brilliant!
Corlindel
I like it but brilliant is to much.

Thing_1
I've never heard Joy division b/c I was born in 88 so ya know but I have heard of them.
stilnox
I read this chain. Loserib, you sound like a four-year-old. Joy division are probably way beyond your grasp...I doubt you'd like them. As for the others who had not heard of the band, I hope you have exploited the time between now and when you first read of them to familiarize yourself with their genius.
Stilnox
-Stiff-Kitten-
Marry Me stilknox
-Stiff-Kitten-
stilnox* sorry.
loserib
parden me but what part makes me sound like a four year old ?
amity75
I remember one night on holiday in Spain I first listened to the "Unknown Pleasures" album. I knew from that moment that my musical tolerance of other bands would never be the same again.
Corlindel
Ian Curtis...
I have Unknow pleasures and Closer LP and Atmosphere single..all of then in Vynil

total metalhead
My dad used to like Joy Division and he got me into them when I was very young. They're one of my earliest musical memories and my only regret is that I only have one of their CD's (Substance), everything else of theirs I own is on vinyl. But yeah Ian was a great man, and it's a real shame how he is so often forgotten when people talk about musical legends.
And they were always better than New Order.
Corlindel
Your Dad?!

I am getting really old

Darth Jello
just so you know, there is another Ian Curtis, he was the lead singer of neonazi skinhead band skrewdriver and most of the world is glad he's dead.
amity75
Actually Jello his name was Ian Stuart Donaldson but the most important thing is that he's still dead.
Darth Jello
damn my sources. well, apolagies, i have no beefs with joy division, just with nazis

Awww....Great Thread....
Here we go, my favorite song, Isolation.
In fear every day,m every evening,
He calls her aloud from above,
Carefully watched for a reason,
Painstaking devotion and love,
Surrendered to self preservation,
From others who care for themselves.
A blindness that touches perfection,
But hurts just like anything else.
Isolation, isolation, isolation.
Mother I tried please believe me,
I'm doing the best that I can.
I'm ashamed of the things I've been put through,
I'm ashamed of the person I am.
Isolation, isolation, isolation.
But if you could just see the beauty,
These things I could never describe,
These pleasures a wayward distraction,
This is my one lucky prize.
Isolation, isolation, isolation, isolation, isolation.
