In the Infinity Gauntlet Saga, there was some mentioning of a being from which the Infinity Gems once were a part of. Here's a bio on nemesis who's basically the 6th Infinity Gems combined with a 7th Infinity Gem that brought them to life.

The being they were once a part of was called "The One Who Once Was". I'm not sure about this Nemesis person though, I didn't really read the Ultraverse Line. I only heard there was some type of "Wisdom" Gem as the 7th gem.
