Does anyone else love these movies as much as me
I may be a little older for them but i think they rock!!

I mean classics such as Beauty and the Beast
or Lion King
or Cinderella
are some of my favourite movies.....
They will forever be out there, and when i have kids i want them to experience these excellent movies too

oh, yeah! i love the lion king & the little mermaid!! i liked atlantis, too, was that disney? of course, pirates of the carribean rocked! go disney! go disney!

my favorite is sleeping beauty

Aladdin (sp) is pretty funny. In the portuguese translation at the beginning when the guy is telling the story he says orgy! Cant remember how it all goes I just remember he says it.

Oh, yes, yes! I love ALL of those! My mom said that for years, starting when I was two, I would watch Cinderalle every SINGLE day! Anyway, another great Disney movie is the Page Master, and this movie isn't Disney, but it has Disney refernces, it is called The 10th Kingdom! I love both of those too! The 10th Kingdom was orginally a mini- series, but you can rent it at Tommy K's... or at least the Tommy K's in Brandford, Connecticut.... I don't know about anywhere else! Lol! Oh, yeah, and it is seven hours long....

I love The 10th Kingdom! (That was NBC, though, not Disney). I had forgotten about the Page Master. That one was cool!

I wish disney would have a project department for the more mature audiences. Like maybe 15 and up or so in age. I know what kind of coolness they're capable of. They just limit themselves alot by catering to little kids for 100% of thier finances.

Well I mean animation-wise they should do something a little more serious. We already got older audience oriented live action stuff.

animation ususally isnt for an older audience tho.....i kno i prefer real-life to animation

I still like some of the movies that I watched in my youth......Bedknobs and Broomsticks, The Rescuers, Lady and the Tramp.........I also like some of the movies that came out when I was much older but watched because I watched them with my niece when she was young......Beauty and The Beast, The Lion King, and Aladdin.

i don't think so, i think what they are doing is great, like toy stories and finding nemo, though it's for kids, the adult still enjoys it. there is always somekind of underlying message and jokes for us, and the visual and charactor for the kids.
there already enough studio that are making film that are too violent and not even remotely suitable for kids.
we need more film or animation that we can bring the kids to, and still enjoy it ourselves.

i think disney sucks..well Disney Pixar is kewl but thats it

I prefer all the classic disneys.... Bambi, Aristocats, Lion king..... etc...

But.. Monsters Inc that was good

awww that movie is soooo cute!!!!! and i forgot the rescuers!!! i loved that movie....when i was like 2 there was other movie i was obsessed w/too...i think it was disney....the little toaster that could....heehhe to a 2 year old it was cool

I dislike disney on basic principal, they over price, and sell cheap toys to kids who don't know any better.
I do like Pixar, but it's hardly fair to give disney credit for them, they started years earlier and disney just bought them after they got popular with Toy Story. Besides Dream Works dose better Comp. animation, antz was better than a bugs life, shrek was better than monsters inc.
Disney movies are generic and dull for the most part, they have often have good beginning but have corny endings.
There are good things about disney
1) they mostly have great music
2)they've sponsored some good things
3)they're always appropriate for young children
disney does promote an image of the "perfect" woman to girls, I think this among the best reasons to be against them
Snow white, cinderella, poca., jasmine, belle (means beauty) that woman from hercules (whatever her name was) ariel, even the movies with animals like Lady and the Tramp and 101 D. has emphasis on looks. They promote a very shallow view of the world.

with the new ones, pixar knows how to make great ones , especially now with Finding Nemo which was cute

im 16 and I watch almost nothing but disney movies. Finding Nemo is their best so far. CG animated or otherwise.

Hi everyone, im new to this site!

I was wondering if anyone could help me. For my A Level english Language coursework i have chosen to do an investigation into how language has changed in Disney movies throughout time starting from early 40's to the present day.

For example, language in more recent movies such as ice age and monsters inc have more metaphors and similies than in say something like cinderella or snow white. Also there are more references to subjects and situations which children won't understand but parents will in more recent movies.

Does anyone know any sites with previous research into this or where i can get transcripts from movies such as The Jungle Book and Ice Age.

I would REALLY appreciate the help as im not having much luck!

I've never seen Mulan. I haven't seen many of the recent ones like Mulan, Hercules, Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis, Lilo and Stitch, Brother Bear and Home on the Range.

I didn't see any after The Hunchback of Notre Dame, except for Tarzan which I only saw very recently because my friend lent it to me.

Quite a few disney films are RACIST but yeh, some are real classics. Like beauty and the beast and so forth.

Hah!! When I was a little kid(damn that makes me sound old :P ) I had a stacks of all the classic disney movies. The all time best of those were aladdin and the lion king.( only the frist movies tho, the 2's and 3's sucked)
