reading the bottom of darth vaders column it confirms that he did infact disappear when he died

Then maybe that's a change he should make to the special editions, cause he looked damn solid ta me!

One would assume this means the dissapearance wasnt shown but did indeed happen.

It did say dark ARMOR. The armor wouldn't loose shape just beacuse there is no body in it.

Well, i've just watched Jedi again. He certainly doesn't disappear...

It's all very well the website saying Luke burned the armor but, for me at any rate, i always liked to believe that the funeral pyre was a requirement in order to finally free Anakin from the Dark Side...a cleansing by fire so to speak...

However, this now begs the question, Why didnt Qui-Gon disappear...he knew he was a gonner...but we get the funeral pyre at the end of TPM which kind of enforced my belief that if a Jedi didnt fade away he'd need to be thrown on the bonfire....

Also, if Anakin did disappear, that suit would have to have been a total ***** to move around, i mean there'd be nuts and bolts and wires and artificial limbs all over the place....not very eco friendly too, burning all that junk....and how did the suit keep its shape...the mask and the breastplace i can understand but...u know..it all looks kind of rigid to me...the suit that is...

No, i can't believe that armor was a whole body outfit like a storm trooper..i mean..watch the movies man...its like, leatherette or something...u'd think the right hand man to the emperor would go for something more stylish...sheesh

Personally, i wouldnt be seen dead in Leatherette, which is kind of the point of this discussion, was he in it or not..

1st. according to the bearded flaneled one the whole suit is an advanced armor that has like a 10-20% resistance agaist lightsabers this is why in episode 5 when luke connected with vader he didn't cut all the way through and 2nd. all thats l;eft of vaders physical body is torso , neck , and head the arms leggs ect are all machine. so if vader did disapear you would not be abel to tell from just apearence

Why would vader have a lightsabre resistant suit if the only people who use sabres are Jedi or Sith AND if i'm not mistaken all the jedi were wiped out..so isnt his suit overkill?

It also raises the question, if he has lightsabre resistant armour, wouldnt they be able to make blaster resistant armour for troopers..oh and make their vehicles a little less succeptable to sabres aswell?

Oh and the fact Anakin lays down on the shuttle ramp when he dies and we see luke sob over his corpse is a dead giveaway that he DIDN'T disappear.

You know, i'm sure if George tried he could come up with some more convincing reasons...all i ever seem to hear is "It was all planned in 77, no even before then"

Okay this is NOT a 'why vader didn't disapear' thread. I made this thread for the soul reason for any Veteran or newbie to come in and check the list of Jedi that are going die, and maybe get to know them a little better. Basically so your not like: "Oh that blue jedi chick with funny things comin out of her head got decapitated. Cool!"

anakin lying down doesnt mean he disappeared, who says he didnt? why would Luke take the time to put the mask back on if anakin was still there?

and Vader would need lightsaber resistant armor - b/c HE killed the jedi - he didnt just get that armor in the OT - he gets it at the end of 3 - before everyone is gone
