Samurai Guy
The only movie about a true Sport... Curling! canadian

The movie opens with Donald Foley (James B. Douglas) fetching curling rocks out of the bottom of a lake, which leads to him having a heart attack. He asked that his cremated remains be put into the curling rock he found and that his old rink (a curling team) re-unite and win the "Golden Broom" tounament.

Chris Cutter (Paul Gross), the skip (captain), rally's his troops of Neil Bucyk (James Allodi), Eddie Strombeck (Jed Reese) and James Lennox (Peter Outerbridge) and begin their journey back to competition. Stuggling to get back in the game, they seek the tutelage of one of Don's old friends, and Chris' father Gordan Cutter (Leslie Neilson). With an expert (and a mushroom adict... laughing ) at their back and desire in their hearts, they compete in the Golden Broom tournament to honour their late mentor. But the challege is tough, as they are facing Alexander "The Juggernaut" Yount (Greg Bryk), who's flashy uniforms and cheerleaders are not all for show... he is a killing machine on the ice!

A very funny, truly Canadian movie. Even the Tragically Hip make an appearance! If you haven't seen this movie... do yourself a favour.
