1- The Shining, but I can't really name one, so just first that popped into head that I think is one of the best.

2- At the moment, A Tale of Two Sisters

7- Can't think of one, although films which have psychological elements mixed with ghosts can creep me out.

8- Gore as in comedy gore(Braindead) or realistic violent stuff?

Ash was a full fledged here by Army of Darkness. Even the greatest hero isn't perfect and must become what they are gradually.

1. Beats me. There are alot of "bests" in the horror genre.....best zombie movie, best psychological, best slasher, best monster, etc. etc. etc. I can't choose one over the others as all sub-genre's have great films.

6. Honestly.....Neve Campbell is up there on the list for Scream. She's one of the few horror actresses who were already seasoned actors and knew her craft well before making horror films.
