Crash Overload
To Violent To be A Pornography, yet to much nudity... and orgies... and rape... and sex... To be an Action movie..

Yet Hold the best line Ever

"I feel now, that at any second Something Terrible Is going to happen to me" *falls unconcscience ehadfirst into spaghetti*

So what do you think of the movie?

Crash Overload
If you are wondering why i saw it, A Friend of Mine tlaked about Brainwashing, and the main carachetr (Alex) Gets BRainwashed, so I decided to see it...

Tex
OMG!
This movie is pure cinematic genius!

The scene where he fights the old perverted lady with the big penis sculpture has to be one of the funniest scenes in movie history!

The music was great of course, and the experiment and twist in the end was pure magic!

To be honest, I didn't think it was overly violent or sexual at all.
I guess at the time of release it must've been.
Seeing as it was banned in the UK.

Crash Overload
LOL! Its banned from the UK? Just becasue it takes place in England? (And all the content that takes place duirng 70ies England)

BackFire
Yep, great movie. Just one of the many brilliant masterpieces from Stanley Kubrick.

The Redeemer
WAS banned. Since poor old misguided BBFC head honcho Jimmy Ferman retired and now has since died, alot of his *bete noirs* are now freely available in the UK...

A CLOCKWORK ORANGE amongst them. I thought it an interesting time capsule film with some interesting things to say. I think it's banning was due to the rape scene. It's vital to the character development and could'nt be removed as not alone would it destroy the film's *raison d'etre* but Stanley Kubrick has said on many occasions that he dosen't like his works interfered with...

For once THE DIRECTOR had his final say! yes

Crash Overload
Which one? No Seriously, Which one?

The Redeemer
Which one? blink IIRC there IS only one but it HAS been quite awhile since I've seen the film. FYI it's the home invasion scene as played over the effervescent ol' tune of SINGIN' IN THE RAIN... one eye

Altar[1stONE]
my favorite movie of all time, hands down

Dario Argento
Yep... You can't pick a favorite, the man has made nothing but master pieces. That is why he is my favorite director.

SaTsuJiN
Eyes wide shut was a masterpiece? What the f**k?

shaber
The book was set in a nameless socialist country, which in the film is identified as the UK by the newspapers and currency notes.

Dario Argento
Yes it was.

I know a lot of people don't like it, but I totally disagree with them.

carnival_junkie
alright. i loved that movie...
and if you like it, mad props.

but... you lose five points if you havent read the book.

ash007
UK a socialist country?????

Or did i just misread what Shaber wrote

mc pee pants
one of the best movies i've seen. and i think eyes wide shut was good... i dunno about masterpiece.

carnival_junkie
what is eyes wide shut about?
i heard about it but never got to see it.

mc pee pants
it's about this secret orgy-voyuerism society that tenders exclusively to its elite members.

most people tend to like the orgy society thing...

shaber
My Dad knew the author of Clockwork Orange - refered to him as a '****' erm

SpideySense
This movie is utterly genius in it's ability to have you see the film through the eyes of a twisted and selfish maniac. Any film that can create this type of empathy (be it a good or evil viewpoint) really is amazing.

smile Jes

shaber
I'm glad they dispensed with Chapter 21 smile

dean7879
one of the best british film eva

Vampy
another thread on my favorite book/movie

It's a true masterpiece, let The Shining hide, humiliated!

Kubrick v.v. good. Good for you brain.

shaber
But doesn't the final chapter (removed from the US edition and the film) ruin it?

dean7879
kubrick is a genious
i picked up the dvd today for 6 pounds
its brilliant...definetly in my top 10 films of all time

BlondeBombshell
Yes I agree, a true masterpiece!! Really unlike any other film. Especially love the way the music connects the whole film and gives it this eery magical decadence. And no one could have played it better than Malcom McDowell. Just perfect casting.

This film was greatly responsible for my corruption!!!!! My descent into a life of decadence and depravity!! Truly, it changed my life!

Parabola Man
I loved how they treated him with indifference in prison, made him stand at the white line as in blues bros.

dean7879
Well, well, well! Well if it isn't fat stinking billy goat Billy Boy in poison! How art thou, thou globby bottle of cheap stinking chip oil? Come and get one in the yarbles, if ya have any yarble, ya eunuch jelly thou!

lol

shaber
Well! Well well well! Well well well well! If it isn't little Alex! Long time no viddy droog how goes?

*In French it went something like* Alors! Mais ouis mais ouis mais ouis...

dean7879
Yarbles! Great bolshy yarblockos to you. I'll meet you with chain or nozh or britva anytime. I'm not having you aiming tolchocks at me reasonless. It stands to reason, I won't have it.

lol great dialogue

shaber
An odd scrap any time you say Dean

dean7879
lol
Watch that, do watch that O shaber, if to continue to be on live thou, dost wist?

Kelly_Bean
I really cannot get into this movie. I've tried watching it today but it's just too weird. Too weird for me!!!!!!!

Impediment
One of my favorites. When I was younger, my friends and I would sometimes get high and then watch it.

queeq
Superb film! Love it!!!

ScarletSpeed
Amazing movie, one of the best cult movies.

For once THE DIRECTOR had his final say! yes

It was due to people copying scenes from the movie. There were gangs who would commit the same sort of crimes, dressed in the same attire. Anthony Burgess also requested that the film should stop being shown, as he didn't want his book to become an influence on crime, he wrote it as a social commentary, not a rallying point for criminals - was the thinking behind it.

Darth Martin
This is a great film. I think it's better than The Shining and Full Metal Jacket.

I thought the movie was fun.

And, yes, I laughed really hard during the penis sculpture beat down scene.

I really liked the music.

My favorite part of the movie: the underboob (underboob is the ultimate boob!) camera shot scene! Such delicious bewbz and I REALLY felt sorry for the guy: being all pwned by that psycho-torture shit.

Believe it or not, I saw it on recomendation from Imp, a while back (like 2 or 3 years ago.)

I've always wondered why Kubrick changed a pewter Beethoven bust (what he killed the cat lady with in the book) into a giant porcelain penis... I've always figured for laugh factor. Seriously what other reason could there be?! Hilarious.

K.Diddy
smile Yes a great movie, havent seen it in awhile but I must rewatch it someday

jinXed by JaNx
This movie makes all kind of sense if you watch it on Lsd

Kaibs
One of my favorite movies of all time. I'm not a fan how they left out the last chapter from the book though... kind of annoying, but oh well. The Ultra Violence was great.
