OK well IM in the process of getting DSL at my house, and we need a way to link our two computers so that we can route the DSL to all the computers.

OK heres the deal.
WE have 2 computers, a Mac OS 9 and my PC with XP pro.
Now is there a way to link these? we tryed ethernet and no go. Se can't update teh operating system on the MAc to X becasue the computer simply can't handle it. So we decided that we'd have to shove the DSL into my computer, but is there anyway we can route the Mac In to the PC so that the MAc has the DSL too??
(The DSL won't work directly plugged into the Mac)

thanks!

yup, my neighbours from across the street have DSL with a Windows XP and Mac... I'll ask them

If your modem doesn't have a router, then you'll need to buy one.

Then using an ethernet cable, plug both your computers into the router. You'll need to assign each computer a private IP address - you might want to check some guides on the net.

well see we don't exactly HAVE the DSL yet, but the thing is my dad tryed to connect them using ethernet and it didn't exactly work.
So I was wondering if there was another way to connect them.

Get the router, like Raz said. You don't connect them together; you connect both of them to the router, and it'll work fine then. Install the software appropriately on each machine, follow the instructions carefully, and you'll be golden.
