flannels, plaid, baby doll dresses, dr martins, nirvana, things that didn't match...???

OMG, I want to cry now.

I'm probably not old enough to any of you, but I'd definitely want those days back...

I went to a Godsmack concert tonight and it was full of grunge throw backs...I might have answered yes if I didn't see that,but now don't want to revisit grunge anytime soon

no, I honestly got your point-- these people opposed fashion... it was intended to be a fashion sense...

but I honestly thought it was cool in high school - to shop at the thrift store for flannel shirts and cords (pants) and stuff like that... I know it wasn't meant to be cooll... but it did end up being cool

No no... The point was that they just didn't give a shit. So people making it "cool" and going out to the charity place to find old, filthy, worn out clothes so they can look just like Kurt Cobain are defeating the entire purpose of it. Same with the punk movement. And probably numerous other trends that have come and gone over the years. The purpose wasn't originally to be "cool," so once it became "cool," it was obsolete.

but it became "cool" anyways... and there will be many other little trend movements to come that will be the same
