I really hate the pencils that have crappy easers. When u erase something, it leaves a big, black smudge.

I've switched to mech pencils, .7mm lead.

does anybody else know what the letter codes on pencils mean?

a higher # h pencil has harder lead, and makes a much lighter line, higher # b pencil has softer lead, and makes a darker line. hb is right in the middle

I prefer drawing in pencil to ink, I've got a variety from 4H to 6B. I like the softer leads better.

You make an interesting point. It's certainly faster than both the pen and pencil.
