Mr Zero
Well the only way i'm going to be able to take part in this debate is to talk about the one Anatomy book I know. The classic grays anatomy of 1901. Sure it's out of date and practically worthless for students of anatomy: but from an artistic point of view it's legend.
Rather than twisting yourself round and trying to work out what goes where - you can flip open grays and find out definitively where muscles start and end and allsorts of other usefully stuff.
Thats the extent of my involvement with the heady world of anatomy books. Hope that helped.

The hipbone is connected to the long bone, the long bone is connected to the tiny bone, the tiny bone is connected to my wristwatch... ohhoh

Clovie
@ Mr Zero, what i know the latest version of Grays anatomy is not so toally not up to time
@ yerss

wuvly, and your point being?
oh.. and please can we talk about thoracic cavity? bag
Mr Zero
clove - Im using the 1901 edition reprint - since I only need it for pictorial reference its jes fine. Id HOPE that you would be using something a little more contemporary....
yerssot
it was a joke

Clovie
joke?

i see.
and mine is not from 1901

I'm reading Stiff right now, and it's very interesting, not to mention very funny. Anyone interested on studies of the (dead) human body should check it out.
Ms Hyde
Interesting choice for the book of the month.
BadKitty
I don't think he was joking...my brother uses grey's as well..it's pretty timeless.
Kaleanae
I know I lot about Anatomy and Physiology, but I don't remember the name of the author of that book

Mr Zero
I'd like to recommend that people don't read Stiff unless they want to lose weight - it will make you sick and put you off food for months.
It's funny - but it's grotesque. Ugh.
Clovie
make you sick....
and what would you tell when we are doing anatomy with real features?
like on the last class, we have REAL lungs, and we had to recognise which one is left and which one is right, and to know what are all holes in it for and where i heart lying and more details as well
urthstripe321
dude, i'm not sickened at all. It's so interesting.
Mr Zero
Thanks for sharing. I feel ill now. You are brave - I cant even eat meat far less look at a lung.
Clovie

Clovie

Baylin
The nervous system?
Easy stuff!
Now nerve meridians in Shiatsu - thats complicated!

Clovie
i know it's easy

totally no idea what could you mean.
Baylin
I'm studying Shiatsu, or accupressure as it's sometimes known. We have to know all the meridian points in the body - there's 12 meridians and one of them has 60 odd points...
Clovie
sounds terrible
but at least you don't have to touch heart

mailedbypostman
Lol, you spelled those words of enouragement wrong.

I'm not sure I understand the rubric, but is this thread for anatomy books? If so I know of a few very rudimentary ones that would probably be of no real use in serious study
Is cranial anatomy a factor?
