But thats just me...and i dont think it has to be one or the other. For example in addition to all those above i also reaally love Nirvana, Rage, and System of a down!!!!! (for all those sayin these are a gateway Band)

chili peppers are good, linkin park is alright...the rest are arguably not "phaaa-king rock-ing" in any way, shape or form.

Ratm, soad, rhcp and nirvana are all great in my opinion.

I'll listen to 'em all, although they will vary in how much i like one artist from the next.
Along the lines as something i've said before its your musical tastes don't let anyone tell you otherwise, there is no right or wrong answer, no facts just opinions.

i dont like how people say other bands suck. if they sucked, they wouldn't be famous. maybe you don't like their music, but you can't deny there's talent there. until someone can prove to me that they can write better music and lyrics then a certain band, then they have no right whatsoever to say that a band sucks. it is rediculous.

I really dislike Linkin park and Good charlotte, P.O.D are just annoying... Mostly because of their lyrics.

People are going to put down your favorite bands... you should just learn to brush it off, and agree to disagree. And fame and talent aren't the same thing.

or atleast formulate some arguments why the dont suck to argue back properly not just go "yeah well your fav band sucks as well"

And as i've stated for 'umpteenth' time its just your opinion, but some people are so ignorant and arrogant to this they begin to perceive their opinions as facts, often making voicing an opinion with them a 'waste of breath'. In my honest opinion a true music fan is not based on what music they listen to but the fact that they can back up their arguments instead of just saying "oh this band suck blah, blah blah" or at least be able to accept and acknowledge each persons individual tastes.

ive said it before....if i could be bothered, id put "in my opinion" after everything i said....but i cant be bothered.....maybe i should put it in my signature

Up to you but i don't see what doing that will resolve, those who have accepted your opinions see no reason for you to justify them.

For instance i use those words : "In your opinion" because to be honest some people can become ignorant to others beliefs and tastes, its sort of a realisation to them that is just an opinion and not fact.

i see what ur saying, but id rather every1 accepted my opinion as an opinion than a few ppl accept it as fact....
because if ppl instantly accept everything sum1 says about music as fact, then they really actually dont deserve an opinion in the first place

Every post i've made on this topic has been 'preaching' people about accepting opnions as opnions and not as fact a misconception that traps a suprisignly large amount of people. I have no idea where you got the rest from i.e. "id rather every1 accepted my opinion as an opinion than a few ppl accept it as fact" because i assume that has something to do with my previous statement(s) because thats definetly not someone i'd percieve myself as.

it was more of a general statement.... i dont say things in the hope that every1 will think its fact, i say them because theyre my opinions... i wasnt even referring to u or what u said with that comment

nah, i dont disagree with what u were saying...i was just enforcing the point that everything i say is opinion regardless of whether i put "in my opinion" on it or not

And i agree with that, i personally find myself disputing even my own threads some that are only a couple of seconds old, and your above statement is one of those very disputes i find myself in.

personally, i love good charlotte, but unlike some people im not gonna go all postal on someone if they hate them. people are entitled to their own opinions.
