Who has seen every epsiode of The Sopranos and is as good as fan as me and likes this show. I think that it is thebest show on TV period. I own all the seasons on DVD. I cant wait for the 5th epdisode to come out. I have watched the first 3 seasons 3 time each and the 4th one once.

and if u do watch it who is ur favorit character and why.

I like christopher- he is funny and crazy he flips out on ne one except Tony of course but he has always been my favorite for some reason. Then Tony and Either Paulie or Sil.

badkittykitty
I love this show D. paulie walnuts is my favorite..but I dont like that he's turning on tony...last season made me mad..they should have tied up alot of lose ends now theres only one season left!! though when tony killed ralphie I was shocked and in awe!but I know they have to cover alot so I am guessing every episode will be awesome this time around!

total metalhead
yeah it really sucks Ralphie died. Joe Pantoliano is one of my fave actors sad

badkittykitty
he was becoming one of my favorites too..though this season I think we will see many favorites get killed since this is the last one

DeNiro
remeber when he called up paulie walnuts mother in the home and told her he was the cops and that paulie got caughte sucking cub scouts dick OMG laughing out loud that cracked me up so bad laughing out loud

badkittykitty
Paulie was soo pissed! Haha!
my favorite sopranos episode is episode-#37 - The Pine Barrens

I laugh my butt off at Paulie and Christoper wandering around in the woods looking for the Russian they shot, just to get lost them selves.the fact that Steve Buscemi directed that episode makes me love it all the more!
though this is yet another lose end on the show, whats going to happen with the Russians? Paulie may be in for a evil end because of this.

DeNiro
omg that is my favorite episode also. always has. my favorite part is when christopher is taking a piss outside of paulie window and paulie is like ooooo go do that on ur side. and christoper is like **** you and paulie was like what what did u say. christopher is like u heard me laughing out loud i was cracking up i dont know why i found that so funny.

and then my second favorite is the first episode ever.

EOWYN3
I love the episode with Christopher's drug intervention, Soprano style..I was seriously dying of laughter!

roundisfunny
Well, dammit, I had written a long, involved post about my observations and speculations about the fifth season, following its debut episode tonight (3/7/04).

Unfortunately, this message board, like so many others, can and will log you off after a few minutes with no warning, and no preservation of the post you just wrote. Thanks. Thanks a heap.

AAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! mad mad

So, what did you all think of the first episode of season five?

badkittykitty
looks promising..I'm glad they brought up the 'pine barrons' episode.I hoped they would have covered that last season..but last season they didn't cover nearly as much as they should have.I am also glad Steve Buscemi is joining the cast..I wonder if he will be directing any more episodes as well.

I wish Dr. Melfi would tell tony about the rape already

roundisfunny
Funny...I mentioned all of those items in my original post. I don't think it's looking good for Melfi ever letting Tony in on that secret, though...too much time has passed.

I heard that Buscemi is supposed to direct one episode this season. Didn't he direct the episode about Tony taking Meadow to college and finding the rat?

Okay, I'm not going to bother with spoiler guards, because most of this is speculation anyway. I think Ade might be done for, but I also think that the worse her situation looks, the more her chance for survival increases. Maybe Paulie and Christoper will kill each other (shortly after Christopher impregnates Ade), and Ade will run off with Artie, who will raise Christopher's son as his own.

It looks already like Tony and Buscemi are going to cross swords. I think one of them will kill the other by season's end. Deaths this season may also include (in order of likelihood):

1) Johnny Sacks
2) Valentina
3) Paulie Walnuts
4) Junior
5) Meadow (just to give it a "Godfather 3" feel)

Finally, I'm convinced that the revelation of the "secret weapons closet" is a blatant attempt at foreshadowing, especially the close-up of that hand grenade. I can just see it being thrown into the living room in some big, final confrontation, possibly ending the episode in a cliffhanger.

Given that season six isn't supposed to air until 2006, however, it better not be too torturous.

DeNiro
Who is ur favorite gangster on the HBO series The Sopranos

Tony
Paulie Walnuts
Sil
Big Pussy
Junior
Christopher
Ralph
Richie
Furio

and some of these people have died in the show or are gone but they still can bechosen

my favorite is prolly Christopher just because he is so crazy and funny and he is the new up coming leader i think of the family if only he would stop all the extra bad shit he does on the side without tony's knowledge.

then I like Tony of course and prolly Sil

roundisfunny
My favorite: Tony Sirico (Paulie Walnuts). He seems like he would be the most like a gangster in real life. Something about the way he has always carried himself on that show lends an authenticity that I find lacking in most of the other characters.

In fact, I read that Sirico only accepted the role on the condition that his character would never, ever be a rat. Now, who else but a classic wiseguy-type would insist upon that?

I also like Furio, Christopher and Ralphie, though the latter two have/had some major flaws.

My least favorite character(s)? AJ, Meadow, Carmela and Tony. What a bunch of jerks! Also, Artie Bucco, Adriana, Dr. Melfi, Janice and Livia, for obvious reasons.

DeNiro
I also like Pauile alot he is very funny and as u said authentic. My favorite episode of the sopranos is Pine Barrens Epsidoe 11 in the 3rd seaosn when Paulie and Chrissy are in the woods and get lost. That was exceellent I cant wait for the 5th season to come out and i heard there will be like 7 season i sure hope that is the case

roundisfunny
Dude...the fifth season has been out for over a week. Two episodes have aired already.

DeNiro
No I mean to buy on DVD I cant wait for them to come on DVD cause I dont have HBO any more I own all four seasons on DVD and im waiting for number 5 to come out

ash007
its cost so much money DVDS

roundisfunny
Yeah...I haven't bought any of them yet, but I'll try to pick them all up eventually (along with the rest of South Park, The Simpsons, the Shield, the Tick, the Ben Stiller Show, maybe Chappelle's show, etc, etc.

$$$$$!!!!

roundisfunny
Okay, just watched episode three. Pretty good, I thought. I can see Steve Buscemi going to work for Feege eventually, since he didn't interfere with him beating up Vittro. I can also see the Feds using Vittro as an "inside man".

Mostly, I can see Paulie and Feege getting into it BIG TIME later this season, with only one survivor.

That's kind of sad about Junior, but it was too funny when Junior thought he and Bobby were on "Curb Your Enthusiasm". To be honest, when I first watched "CYE", I thought Jeff, Larry's manager WAS the same guy that played Bobby on "The Sopranos".

I missed part of it. What suggestion did Christopher have at the meeting with Johnny Sacks?

roundisfunny
Ah, episode four just aired (3/28/04), and I see this thread is just as active as ever. It was fulfilling to see Tony's Machiavellian methods in dealing with Feech, but I must take exception to half of the guys in New Jersey becoming so enamored with Carmella.

Come on! We had Joe Penny the construction guy, Furio, the bear-hunting guy, and now the school counselor! Is the haggardly, menopausal shrew so common to that area that men in their early 40's have little else to turn to for companionship? Dr. Melfi's single...why can't SHE find a man?

roundisfunny
April 4, 2004, and what an episode that was! Whoo! And so, it now comes time for the thankless task of putting in my two cents, hoping like hell that this time, someone else will have something to contribute, rather than just letting this thread get shuffled down to the bottom again, as a consistent slap-in-the-face to one of the greatest TV dramas ever.

I was soooo sure tonight that somebody was going to die, either Christopher, Adrianna or even Tony. It was strange that they all suffered from maladies as well, especially since we had never heard anything about them before (Tony's mole, Ade's bowels and Chrissy's tooth); I get the feeling that their medical issues will pop up again.

It's great to see Steve Buscemi start to drift back into the game, including what we saw of next week's episode. Looks like he's going to be dragged in, but at least we might get to see him start kicking asses.

Anyone else remember Frank Vincent from "Goodfellas" and "Casino"? I'd sure like to see more of him in future episodes, just because of the authenticity of his presence. I also wouldn't mind seeing more of Max Casella (remember...from "Doogie Howser"?).

badkittykitty
i'm watching it right now.I started watching earlier tonight and a friend called so I missed the end...and it was funny cause I got a call through and it was another fan saying holy shit did you see tonights show...so now I'm gonna watch what I missed.

WildIrishRose
Woo Hoo! Soprano's fans!! stick out tongue Annyway...My bet would be if they are going to kill off a major charactar this season it would be Adrianna...considering that she's going to be on a new show(that Friend's spinoff) and her character has been talking to the feds..so eventually SOMEONE is gonna find out about that. But I've been wrong before & I probably will be many, many more times. big grin You had to figure they weren't gonna kill Christopher in the last episode...way too obvious. Buscemi's character is developing a little slowly, but hopefully it will be worth waiting for.

Sir Ron
So far each episode has been really good imo. Since Feech was sent back to the can, you have to wonder where Tony's big rival will be for the rest of the season. For awhile it looked like Cousin Tony, now it feels like he may be slipping back into the life on Tony's side.

Adrianna seems too obvious to be the next hit victim. I believe they'll just spring the big hit on you al la Ralph.

I look forward to the return of Richie Aprile and Big Pussy.

WildIrishRose
"Anyone else remember Frank Vincent from "Goodfellas" and "Casino"?"

Which one was he in "Goodfellas"? I've seen that movie a hundred times but that name doesn't ring a bell?

Christopher might be a candidate for the next big hit....just b/c no one really expects them to kill him off...I dunno...

badkittykitty
hmm I don't know..

I am happy with this season so far..last season I only really liked 2 episodes..the one with the death of ralphie and when carm told tony she was in love with furio (great acting on her part)

the main character death I guessing might actually be paulie...remember the Russian? they did mention it in the first episode this season..they have to tie that up.

roundisfunny
Frank Vincent played Billy Bats in "Goodfellas"; the one Tommy (Joe Pesci) and Jimmy (Robert DeNiro) beat to death in the diner (well, technically, he was killed by the knife and gun in the trunk of Henry's car an hour or so later).

That's what was ironic about him being the source of Nicky's demise in "Casino". Also, Michael Imperioli (Christopher) was shot in the foot by Tommy in "GF", and he shot a guy in the foot in "The Sopranos".

Another interesting bit of Michael Imperioli trivia, from the IMDb:

During filming of the scene in which his character is killed by Joe Pesci, Michael Imperioli broke a glass in his hand and had to be rushed to the emergency room. When doctors saw what appeared to be a gunshot wound in his chest, they tried to treat it. When Imperioli told them what was really up, he was made to wait for three hours. Director Martin Scorsese told Imperioli that someday he'd be telling that story on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno". The prediction came true in March 2000.

Okay, I watched episode six last night (4/11/04), and I must say I'm shocked that they would trick us into thinking Tony B. was going to bludgeon somebody to death when all he did was beat him up. Also, anybody getting a "Godfather III" vibe from the analogy between Carmella's affair and the story of Abelard and Heloise? Methinks Carm will wind up pregnant from the affair (hence the stomach pains). Whether the teacher winds up confronting Tony about it is another kettle of fish; my guess is, he'll just wind up getting clipped.

Sir Ron
I'm hoping Tony has Carm clipped. She has to be my guess now for the next main character to be killed. She looks bloody horrible. Sure she's lost some weight and had some boob work done, but good lord her face is a mess.

The scene where she was sitting in the car with AJ's councilor, she was just a mass of leathery wrinkled skin. The new hairdo looked like they designed it to draw you to looking at that lopsided part instead of her face. I always thought she was an important part of the show in context to the premise of the story, however this whole Carm's Big Sexual Adventure side story just isn't going anywhere... at least anywhere that has something to do with people getting whacked and beaten down.

Tony seems like he's heading toward a fall from grace. Having his own wife whacked would just push the show to the next level. Imagine going back and watching the previous seasons knowing Tony was just going to end up killing her. It puts the show and the lifestyles the main characters have in a very different light.

Anyways, what I just said is highly unlikely. I'm just tired of the whole AJ's grades and Carm side story. Do we really care if AJ makes it into Arizona U? (Well other than getting his whiny butt off the show)

The last episode was great. The writers really showed how hard it is for someone to give up the life. Shop owners don't go out gambling every night with movie and rock stars. Nor do you find many walking into casinos wearing thousand dollar shoes.

More Cousin Tony!!!

roundisfunny
Well, we didn't get more Tony B. in episode 7 (4/18/04), but we sure saw plenty of Tony S. flirting with that old hag. Yechh!

I really liked the side story of Christopher's AA buddy getting caught up in "the business" and the incredulous look on his face when Christopher acted like they were still the best of buddies because of their common struggle against addiction.

What I could have done without, of course, was yet another glimpse into Junior's sad existence. It was at least refreshing to see him start to realize what a miserable prick he is, though

Next week's show looks promising. Looks like Tony B. is finally going to clip someone. The question is...are they going to ask him to whack Tony S. in retribution for what he did to Phil Leotardo???

LeAtHerRFace
I think this is a great Drama/Dark Comedy series. Ive only watched the 1st season though.

Sir Ron
I watched the previews and thought they were wanting Cousin Tony to clip Johnny Sacks not Tony.

This week's episode to me was all about perceptions and reality. The conversation between Junior and Tony about his father's mistress was the setup. Junior believed that he had this girl in the palm of his hand and lost her because he hesitated. He did not want to bring a woman into the type of life they lead. In reality, she thought Junior was some sort of weirdo stalker who skulked outside her building in the middle of the night.

Tony believed he found the woman who his father turned to because his mother drove him away. First we find out that Tony's childhood pet who he believed was taken to a farm was believed to of been put to sleep by his sister was in reality given to the son of Johnny's mistress.

Then Tony finally sees the woman for what she really is. She was a hedonistic plaything his father chose over his family. She was temptation. Tony held his father in such high esteem for years, that he faulted his mother for any problems his father had. Tony's perceptions of his father changed once he realized that he(Tony's Dad) chose to spend the whole night with his mistress rather than stand by his own wife during the death of what should of been another son or daughter. He realized that maybe his mother had reasons for being the way she was, predicated by Junior's previous insight on bringing women into the mafia lifestyle. We often see Tony sitting by himself and/or smoking a cigar when he has the brief moments of "reality."

Junior's broken perception was believing he was getting moments of freedom by attending these funerals, when in fact it made him realize just what a prisoner he was.

Christopher's rehab buddy believed that Christopher was his friend. We all saw how that was broken(literally). There always seems to be an amusing subplot to a lot of the Soprano episodes. I thought this one was pretty humorous. Christopher was talking like they were best buddies again after busting the guy's face, breaking a picture of his head, forcing the guy to pawn everything he owned, then topped it off by taking the guy's beloved car... not to mention telling him that they would work out the rest of the payments and interest when the poor bastard got out of rehab.

roundisfunny
Right on the money!

roundisfunny
Okay, 8 episodes down, and looks like Tony B. is back in business, baby! Except for the unfortunate foot incident, of course. Too bad that stripper had to die, too.

I noticed that Michael Imperioli (Christopher) wrote the episode. He's either being really clever or really stupid, because the close-up shots of Hugo with the rifle, then Tony's belly could be a big hint for what the future holds.

I'm convinced now that Carm is/will be pregnant, and she won't know right away whether it's Tony's baby or the English teacher's. Maybe she'll be standing over his dying body in the final episode saying, "It's not your baby, Tony".

Sir Ron
Very interesting ideas, Round.

This weeks theme was regrettable actions. Everything done in this episode will most definitely be regretted in later episodes.

Tony and Carm banging in the pool.
Tony B hitting a NY soldier.
Letting Michael Imperioli write an episode...

This wasn't a very good episode imo. I can only guess that it was a setup for what is to come.

roundisfunny
Episode 9...the tension builder (5/2/04)! Great episode, I thought!

Will Johnny believe Tony? Will Tony reconcile his guilt about leaving his cousin in the lurch? Is the bear on the porch a little too much in the way of symbolism, especially when it shows up RIGHT WHEN Carmella finds out Tony has ruined her chances with every good divorce lawyer in NJ?

And how about the preview for next week's ep? Looks like the Christopher versus Tony B. angle will be played up, though I can't imagine what Ade told her FBI friend this week. Also, where was Junior? Couldn't take any more funerals?

VERY interesting story about Meadow and Finn. It looks like Vito will wind up getting killed, since they're unlikely to kill off Meadow's fiance'.

I have to wonder what Janice will do to get arrested (probably something stupid like pot possession), but I don't see it as much more than just another irritation to Tony's life.

soldtheworld
Anybody knows which episode paulie went to see a shrink or a medium, spirits of people he whacked were talking to the medium and he got really mad, that was funny as hell, please remind me the episode? Thanks in advance fellas

Sir Ron
Season Two: From Where to Eternity. That's the episode Christopher in a morphine haze tells Paulie and Tony "3 o'clock!" and Paulie goes to a mystic who sees the ghosts of all the people Paulie has killed.
--------------------------

A marked improvement from last week's episode. Now we know why Tony has a soft spot for his cousin. Several shock moments in this one.

-Tony B suddenly becoming the big man with the big gig. Tony even trying to have Tony B "made." A lot of jealousy from that move. Next week someone gets clipped and Christopher is seen crying.

-Adriana calling her FBI friend to more than likely rat out Tony B like she did the girlfriend who was coming onto Christopher.

-Tony's panic attacks and real reason behind his guilt.

-Johnny Sacks obviously showing that he's unreasonable to work with, which means he'll be dead soon.

-Vito in the truck. Good lord I could of lived my whole life without that mental image.

Paulie is such a kissass. The look on his face when he was told that the kid he just told to wash the dog shit off his tires was Meadow's boyfriend had me laughing out loud. It makes me wish Tony Sirico did more movies. He'd a perfect for any mob comedy with the way he can ape for the camera.

So... wonder who the body getting chucked off the bridge is? It was too small for Vito or Tony. Looked sort of skinny to me. Tony B? Adriana? Fin?

Only four more episodes, the last three are when it really starts getting crazy.

wuTa
one of the best ones was when christopher made paulie pickup the check so chirstopher had to pick up the next check and paulie kept runnin up the bill and he sent drinks to the table with like 4 old hags and christopher goes "get some ****in glasses" laughing out loud

roundisfunny
Episode ten just aired. It was great. And now, it's time for a breakdown:

OMG I LIK TEH SORPNOZE LOL111

badkittykitty
omg,did anyone watch last night episode?I missed half of it but I caught them killing Adriana I hope to catch the replay!

roundisfunny
Yeah, that was something else, but I can't say it came as much of a surprise. Have we ever seen Silvio kill anyone before? I sure can't recall (of course, I've seen most of the episodes only once).

Plus, at least there wasn't another forty-minute dream sequence!

forumcrew
i have every episode of this show.. i need to start watching them sometime

RZA
So, I was curious about when the final season was gonna start, I always thought it was scheduled for some time this year but then I went to the HBO site and this is what it says...

When does the next season of The Sopranos begin?

The Sopranos will return for a sixth season in 2006. The ten-episode sixth season will begin production in early 2005.

If this is true, that sucks. No Sopranos at all this year??

jaden101
true...a ten part series and a feature length big screen finale

cast your mind back to the pilot episode when tony says

"there's only 2 endings for a guy like me...a high profile guy like me...dead...or in the can"

so which is it going to be???

RZA
^^Hmm...you pose an interesting question there my friend. Personally, I think or on second thought I know that Tony would wanna go out like a true Soldia and dye, but the cops would definitely want to take him alive. I dunno I just can't picture Tony doing time in the can, I say if he goes, he goes out in a body bag.

When you say feature length Big Screen finale? what exactly do you mean by that?

jaden101
by big screen finale i mean they are ending the sopranos with a feature length film for the cinemas that will be instead of the usual episodes 11 and 12 that we have had with the previous 5 series...they are doing 10 episodes and a 2 hour film

personally i think christopher will still be holding grudges against Tony because of adriana and he will kill him

i can see the final scene being christopher looking into the mirror (shot with him facing directly at the camera) straightening his tie and saying some classic sopranos line about him taking over as boss

or perhaps not eek!

a teeny weeny bit of news

Joseph Gannascoli, who plays Vito Spatavore, called in the Howard Stern show on April 18th and he said that the 6th season of The Sopranos will start airing January 2006

jaden101
Sopranos creator and executive producer David Chase held open the possibility that the upcoming sixth season of the hit HBO mob drama may not be its last. "It's possible," said Chase while speaking at a breakfast for Syracuse University's Newhouse School in New York. The sixth season of "The Sopranos" "is going to be about money, materialism, buying stuff, consumerism," Chase said. "The U.S. is a great country, but everything is up for sale."

*Bump*

All thread no expression Well, the Sopranos are being filmed in the college where I go to (NJIT or New Jersey Institute of Technology)... They are using one of the buildings are Newark University Hospital... that was today, I had a class around 6, so I went to the first floor and check out how they change everything to look like a hospital
When I left around 9, they were still filming messed

jaden101
cool as fvck

see any of the cast?

Kaleanae
Only James Gandolfini and Michael Imperioli, I don't know who is the one supposed to be in the hospital... and I hope they go again so I can take picture, in fact this is the second time filming there but the first time I missed it.

jaden101
Saying he was "obviously delighted," HBO chairman Chris Albrecht announced on Thursday that the network will produce eight bonus episodes for The Sopranos' upcoming sixth season. The new episodes, which are slated to debut in January 2007, will follow the previously announced 12 episodes, which begin in March 2006.

"When something is as remarkable as The Sopranos, our audience would like to see it continue as long as possible," Albrecht said. "So we're thrilled that David Chase felt that there are more stories to be told."

Brad Grey, executive producer of the series added that the show had "continued to grow and evolve" with every season. "We're all looking forward to spending more time with The Sopranos," he said.

This show is great. The plot and the characters make a unique blend of the typical drama show.

6 more days.................I can hardly contain my glee!! I have every season set on DVD, and this season looks much more promising than last season.

I wasn't much of a Sopranos fan until recently, so I've spent quite a bit of time trying to catch up.

I'm def looking forward to the season premiere though, I hope that its as good as I'm expecting...

and if not, there's always the Big Love premiere right afterwards.

A.D. Skinner
I have been watching the 1st 5 seasons in preparation of the 6th season starting in just a couple of days. I missed the entire 5th season, and that is what I just started watching last night!

I am a fan of Tony and can't wait to see what happens in the new season. I shall return as soon as I finish the 5th season so as to not read any spoilers and be here for the new season with everyone!

Inspectah Deck
^Me too

IMO, Sopranos is the best show airing right now. I like how the characters develope over time, as the plot continues. Unlike most shows. I was kind of mad when:

Anthony killed Raplh

A.D. Skinner
Holy cow ! What an ending to the premire...

Did uncle Jun really just kill Tony???

Can't wait for next weeks episode to see what actually happens.

AlCzervik
I can't believe that that would be the case. To me I have to assume that everything will be fine with that.

sorry...not great with spoiler tags.

great episode though....I'm also just so happy that Buschemi is gone....he annoyed me on that show.

The only reason he made it on the show in the first place was that he was directing some of the episodes and wanted a role...

I didn't really understand how he could be so into building the massage parlor, and then in one fail swoop he was a goodfella again...

Though it was good of Tony to put an end to him, rather than letting Phil torture him !

Oh, man. That ending! I watched the S6 premiere on InDemand HBO. I made sure not to go to any Sopranos threads until after I watched the premiere. Well worth the wait. I can't believe we're on our last season.

This is the last Season of the Sopranos. They have stated that they will be showing 12 episodes in 2006, and then the remainder will be in January of 2007, with a 2 hour movie Finale.

I doubt that...

I think he's still alive

AlCzervik
He's gotta be alive....i can see him dying this season, but not in episode 1...that would be ridiculous.

A.D. Skinner
Well, it has already been known that Tony will die this Season...well that or end up behind bars.

Though I would have to agree that it would be quite a poor season if the Hero of the series died in the 1st episode.

What was wrong with Tony's uncle anyway? Is he bi-polar?

My big question is what will Phil do with the New York crew, since Johnny Sack is in the can? Phil and Tony don't see eye to eye, you know? And will Johnny spend ALL season in the can since his RICO trials are so huge?

A.D. Skinner
From the previews it sure looked as if Silvio was taking over the family while Tony is in a Coma, but it also would appear that Paulie isn't so happy about that either....

Impediment
^^ Silvio is the ranking man in the family, not to mention the consiglieri and the most level headed, IMO. Paulie has always been an annoying whining jackass, if you ask me. Tonight's episode was the most emotional one yet, enough to make even ME get teary-eyed. Edie Falco is such an amazing actress, her breakdown at the hospital was more than convincing. Oh, and I sincerely hope that A.J. gets his ass stomped for being such a whiny spoiled little bitchh. I hope he doesn't mean what he said that he's gonna get revenge on Uncle Jun (by "putting a bullet in his 'mummy' skull"wink for shooting Tony.

A.D. Skinner
I think we all know what A.J. might be up to, I mean, he acts without thinking and I don't think he will stop now.

He is going to be looking for Uncle Junior, and if he can get to him, I am expecting quite a exchange between the two of them.

The dream sequence that Tony is living is quite a interesting one. He is without his identity ( hence the coma ), and who knows if he will ever locate Mr. Finnerly in time to save himself!

Though with Silvio now in charge, it would appear that the family is in good hands.....for the time being...just as New York doesn't start moving in on their business

I missed it sad

Scratch that. Fortunately I was lucky enough to see two days ago. I had to admit, I liked this episode

At the beginning I was confused but as the story went on the more I wished Tony should get better. I was also shocked at A.J.'s reaction, I doubt that he'll do it though

A.D. Skinner
Don't put anything past A.J. He hasn't been always the best judge of what is right and wrong...and someone put his Dad's life in Jeapordy.

Inspectah Deck
True. But he also he is always the one to punk out

Makedde
I quite enjoyed this show when it was on. Sadly, the network isn't screening the show anymore.

A.D. Skinner
So the true question is....

Will Tony Survive?

Impediment
I haven't the slightest doubt about Tony not surviving, but the question we all need to be asking ourselves is "What about the permanent long term effects of being shot and/or hardships because of said injury?" Tonight's episode showed very much how a lot of people, especially Tony's crew, can be greedy a$$holes and put up a cheap facade in the time of distress. Now, on top of Tony being hospitalized, Silvio, too, is now in the hospital because of an asthma attack (possibly because of the sudden pressure of being the acting boss) and we have another top guy out of the running for the time being. I'm also glad that someone finally put A.J. in his place.

BlackSunshine
I'm really enjoying the new season. Lots of shocking things going on. And alot of emotional moments that had me my friend Sarah and even my bf in tears. I cant wait till the next episode!!

A.D. Skinner
I think we will see in the next few episodes of whether Tony will have any ongoing problems with the gunshot and being in a coma.

I did like the fact that when he went to the family reunion that his Cousin was there telling him to go on in, and Meadow's voice could be heard in the distance...though who was the woman in the doorway? Possibly his Mother?

I think Sil will be alright...just had a asthma attack ( and that was out of the blue for I never saw him with a respirator before ), and I am sure will be back on his feet in no time.

Though, I don't think the A.J. situation is quite overwith. I am guessing that Junior and A.J. will meet somewhere in the near future and things between them will be decided then.

I was thinking the same thing

Impediment
Remember the dream Tony had (season 3 or 4) about him being an Italian immigrant worker who "no speaka de english"? He walked up to an old house and saw a woman standing on the stairs all silently. Was that possibly a representation of Tony's mom, too?

A.D. Skinner
There is a inner lining here between Tony and his Mother, a ongoing story line to where he holds her accountable for all the anguish and pain in his life.

I don't think we have heard the last of Olivia...

RZA
I know this question is gonna sound kinda old now but did anyone figured out the meaning behind Tony's dream sequence? I heard Steven Van Zandt (Sil) on the radio after the episode aired and he said that it all had to do with that whole 'Kevin Finnerty' name. He said say it slow or fast and try to figure it out while pronouncing it.

So, I'm thinking Kevin Finnerty = Heaven or Hell for Infinity? I dunno confused Any thoughts?

My guess is Tony was in purgatory and the house he was headed towards along with the silhouette at the entry of the doorway who was his mother represented heaven or hell. I guess it all depends on how you look at it. Again, any thoughts?

I'm also thinking the monks were judging him and determining whether or not he would repent for his sins.

A.D. Skinner
Interesting thoughts and I too realized that Tony was in a midway point where it was up to him as to which direction he would want to go.

Deciding against going into the house and instead following the sound of his Daughter was a defining moment in his life. yes

Inspectah Deck
Why did Tony punch that hispanic guy? confused

A.D. Skinner
Didn't you notice that Tony was upset about the fact that he was no longer in shape, and being the Boss of the Family, he didn't want his Captains thinking that he was less of a man.

Seeing Bobby play basketball, and then looking at the rest of the family and their builds...Tony needed to show them that he was just a man as the rest of them.

That is why he started the fight with the driver and beat the crap out of him as well ! He needed the family to know that he was still in power.

Hey, I just rented the first three discs of the first season, and I just can't get into it. I watched the first two episodes, I like the whole 'duck' thing, but the rest is a bit 'nothing new'. Should I stick to it? Does it get better??? Someone convice me, please. I had my hopes up for this one.

RZA
I didn't think the first season was all that great, in fact I don't even remember much about it. I think you should stick with it. It definitely gets better by the second season, at least my opinion anyway but remember the whole point of this show really centers around the irony of Tony 'Mr. Big mob boss' having to go to a shrink to deal with this problems. If you fail to see the irony or humor in that early on then this might not be the show for you.

jaden101
the sopranos is probably the only brilliant continuing drama on tv...meaning that some plot lines last over many episodes...look at everything else on tv...every series going almost without exception are just a load of separate stories using the same characters

CSI and other shows like that have tenuous and insignificant continuing plot lines

the other other show i can really think of that is continuing is Lost...which in 2 seasons hasn't really gotten anywhere.

i think this season of the sopranos is lining up to be the best...the suicide scene of Eugene Pontecorvo was unbelievable...

because him being in a coma and all people around him thought of that as a sign of weakness so he had to prove to everybody that nothing had changed with him. IMO I thought it was pretty crazy that he did that but then I understood why....BTW the hispanic guy was his bodyguard.

I never thought I'd see the day when Christopher Multisante would pay for sex. This made absolutely no sense to me at all. Why would he pay for sex? He could get sex from those girls at the strip club anytime he wants. http://images.killermovies.com/forums/smilies/cartoon/erm.gif

I am sure that they are not "free". Their probally is no set money amount or that it is even expected, but the way those guys throw money around to women, I am sure they get compensated. yes

I was sooo mad at Christopher, what the hell does he think he is doing? mad

badabing
I'm not trying to offend anybody, but how many more times do I have to see Vito kiss another man? pukeranting Anyway, A.J. is screwed up and Anthony didn't get it on with that hot real estate agent. I didn't see that happening. Any other thoughts?

RZA
Yeah, it was like watching an episode of Brokeback Mountain. Only this time instead of Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhall, it was Vito and some scruffy biker dude sick I don't think I can stomach too much more of that.

I don't know what was up with Tony passing on that but what I really don't understand is how she all of a sudden came around after she said all that stuff about having a fiancee and all. I guess Tony's just too much of a stud to pass up on even with a shot up pancreas roll eyes (sarcastic)

All in all I'm a bit disappointed with the season so far, really hasn't lived up to my expectations I'm afraid. It does seem like the series is getting a bit stale and I think Chase is doing the right thing by only letting it go one more season. Also, lately I'm starting to dislike Tony more and more, don't really know why, I guess it's all the stuff he's been doing to people lately and his attitude. I use to actually like him or at least respect him but now I'm just really hoping he gets whacked. The apnea is what's really getting on my nerves most of all. That heavy breathing thing, I don't know why but I'm noticing it more lately and it's starting to annoy the hell out of me.

badabing
What did everybody think of tonight's episode? It seems that Christopher is falling back into his bad habits; Paulie visiting his mom makes me think he has cancer. Other than that, not much going on with the show. Any thoughts?

chico
I don't think the show is going anywhere. With only two episodes left you would think they would be getting in to alot of changes by now. Looks like it might just be fading off. A few minor changes, but nothing major.

All that will be proven wrong next episode, obviously, just because I said that. smile

badabing
They are airing 8 new episodes starting around Christmas.

BlackSunshine
whats the deal with all the gay kissing scenes here lately...I mean once is enough. It makes me think Vito, Joe Gannascoli, may be gay in real life.

badabing
I feel the same way. Two dudes kissing is horrible. They should have had Meadow go lesbian.

badabing
Ant thoughts on the latest episode? Who didn't see the thing with Vito ending the way it did?

RZA
So what do you guys and gals think good ole' Chase has in store for us in the final ep this season?

I think Steve Sharipa's character is getting wacked!

badabing
So, what did everybody think of the finale? I think what Tony said to Phil in the hospital may be seen as a sign of weakness.

RZA
What a boring finale I think it sucked!

I'm going to be a bit less enthusiastic about the continuation of this series next year. Of course I'll still watch because it will be the last season, I just won't be looking forward to it as much.

jaden101
yeah it did seem to fade out again but then the last 3 seasons have done the same...always ending around christmas...although the end to season 5 with johnny sack falling in the snow while tony ran away through the woods was hilarious

i think the discussions between phil leotardo and his captains will definitely come to something though

badabing
The finale seemed a bit "compressed" to me. It felt like they were trying to cram too much into one episode.

BlackSunshine
That was a terrible finale.....I'm just curious to see what the 8 final episodes are gonna be like. Of course we gotta wait a whole year to see them though.

Impediment
New episodes in November. I hope that they're better than the second half of the last season.

That wasn't the final episode of season 6.

The sixth season is an extra long season and the upcoming 8 episodes are part of the season. There is speculation that there will be a feature length movie that ends the entire story.

ToMacco
I've been watching all of them on DVD. Which is fu**ing expensive, by the way.

So, I finished "Season 6 Part 1". I think that the family in New York is gonna kill either Christopher or AJ.

certainly not by new jersey he wont...perhaps by the other new york crew...

i've said it before...tony told us in the pilot episode how it's going to end

"there's only 2 ending for a big high profile guy like me...dead...or in the can"

my guess is dead at chris moltisanti's hand

ToMacco
I think he'll go to jail. Getting whacked is too predictable. I think he'll go to the can after some of his family gets killed.

i love the part in episdode 7 in series 1 when Christopher is at the union construction site and Tony pulls up, Chris is pissed because he has to work at the union the conversation goes like this if i remember rightly

Tony - Hey, hows the boy
Chris - How am I, i got dust up the crack of my arse and im starving to death
Tony - your doing an excellent job allow yourself to take pleasure in that
Chris - Guys been ragging in my fcukin ear all day id like to kill the prick..YOU HEAR THAT PRICK

you then see the boss charging over angry shoutin get him outta here to Tony about Chris that bit really cracks me up

Hell yea that part is one of my favs also

One of my other favorite parts has to do with the construction site also but in season five not to sure what episode. when lil pauile and i forget his name get in a argument

One guy- yea she was prolly like kissing a fireman

lil paulie- well you otta know sweetie

one guy- wad ya say

lil paulie- nothing, what just breaking balls

one guy stands up and say im gonna take a piss walks over to lil paulie and says here can you hold this and cracks a glass bottle over his head and then you hear OOOOOOOO from pat-c and vito goes OOOO I seen that coming

ALso i have to agree that the sixth season was somewhat dissapointing the fifth season was ****ing great but the sixth it seemed that they ran out of story lines like who gives a shit about paulie and his mother and do we really need to have a love story between vito for that long

LORDSIDIOUS01
Does Tony die in the series finale? I think he will.

Solo
The Wire > The Sopranos

By a large margin, too.

jaden101
well its shaping up to a weird conclusion

Johnny sack has died of cancer...Bobby Baccala has left evidence at the scene of a murder he committed and had a huge fight with tony and beat the shit out of the boss...tony is paranoid that christopher hates him and is going to have him killed because of Adriana...Phil leotardo is going to take over as boss and is out for revenge because tony's cousin killed his brother...

and we're only 2 episodes in to the last 8

Impediment
Johnny Sack deserved a nobler death than cancer, if you ask me. I agree that Bobby will be indicted for the hit he left evidence at which was not only his weapon, but his shirt.

I dont feel that Christopher will be a threat to Tony. I think Tony's just paranoid and Chrissy is harboring resentment, is all.

Phil Leotardo is gonna stir up some shit. Hide and watch. He was rambling on and on about his "legacy" and how he's gonna be remembered.

I just hope we will get to see some closure for Uncle Junior's situation.

LORDSIDIOUS01
As an avid fan of The Soprano's, I must say that the first of the final episodes aren't what I thought they would be.

Impediment
I agree.

Impediment
Tonight's episode was finally what I was waiting for: shocking!

I would have never, in a million years, thought that Tony would be capable of such a thing.

mysterio69
they're trying to make us hate tony in these last few episodes. he's gotten away with so many things, and he's finally gonna get what's coming to him. and also, i think chris was wired.

I think Tony did it as an act of mercy to Chris, seeing as how he was never going to be truly sober again, what with his hopeless addictions.

Although I hate to admit it, Chris was, in fact, a weak link for Tony and the crew. He was either going to snitch out to the Feds, get pinched and sent to prison, or he'd royally screw up/screw over Tony and he'd have to be whacked. I think Tony knew this and just said, "**** it!", and got it out of the way. Maybe Tony was still fearful of Chris' supposed "resentment" issue from the previous episodes.

The questions now are: What happens next? Who dies? Who gets pinched and sent up the river? I'm guessing something major is going to happen with A.J., seeing as how he's been emotional and in therapy, and has been exposed, sorta, to the life his dad lives, which, in turn, made him very distressed and apathetic.

Impediment
I knew it!!

AJ snapped and tried to commit suicide! Part of me wishes that he was successful. He's just a spoiled idiot with no direction.

Tony might have slightly overreacted with that guy "Coco" and with how he disrespected Meadow. It was, however, cool that he did what he did for his little girl.

I'm wondering, now, what will become of Uncle Junior.............

mysterio69
i think tony was to be whacked at phil's house. phil said "cooler heds prevailed" or something like that. that little carmine is a sneaky f*ck, methinks.

ragesRemorse
This show has become boring drivel. It's still a good show considering, but theres no real suspense building considering its the last season

Impediment
As much as I hate to agree, you're right. The show lost a lot of it's steam at the end of season 4. Since then, it's been very slow with very few great parts in between. I just hope that the last 2 episodes deliver a lot.

jaden101
HOLY SHIT...

anyone who says it's gone stale now is clearly deluded

1 episode left...who's going to make it 'til the end?

I do agree with ya that the midpoint of Season 4 is where the Sopranos went from a great show to a really good show, but it is cause Chase only had an original 4 year arc for the show.

I remember reading in the 2nd Season, he had 4 seasons of material, and then they offered him 25 million to do 2-3 more seasons, and money talks! So Chase was writing all new material that originally wasn't there, and all the good stuff that we have seen in the last few episodes has been held off for years now, cause he couldn't wack everyone! Lorraine Bracco said she knew how Tony/Melfi relationship would end early in Season 2, but they just couldn't write her off the show cause she is a big part of it.

The Sopranos has been going through the motions since Season 4, and even an average episode is better then most crap on TV, but it has definitely lost some fans cause of the extended hiatus, and pointless plot lines like Johnny Cakes and a whole episode of Carm/Rosile going to France!!!

I think if Chase can wrap up the show this week on a high note, and most fans end up loving the episode, it will cement The Sopranos as the greatest drama ever.

Jim Reaper
I think it's going to have one of those ambiguous endings. Hopefully not, Sopranos is usally cut and dry.

ambiguous to say the least! anyone just see that? lol

It was so tense with everyone walking in and out of that diner. Than, black screen. That was the most bad ass way to end a show.

Jim Reaper
Actually...that is their style. I agree, that was a tight way to end it.

Da Rev
The fans wouldn't want to see Tony get whacked, or any of his family members. We didn't want to see any of them go in the final season. How they ended it was perfect, showing everyone is alright and will be now that Leotardo was dead. I'm glad they didn't do the cliche fade to black. It made my mom go "What the F*ck" laughing
