Did you ever think a superhero could be, well, too super for one town? This is a conundrum faced by the former Mr. Incredible, Bob Parr. Cast out of the super society and into suburbia, Parr settles down with the former Elastigirl, Helen, where they produced a trio in Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack. Pushing pencils in a insurance company desk job, it just so happens his city of the month is once again in peril. Who better to save the world than...THE INCREDIBLES!

"The Incredibles" ushers in so many new elements in an animated feature era, which they have helmed since "Toy Story". The animation is tear-enducingly polished, and leaves you awestruck. From framing to sweeps, its big feature cinematography makes you forget you're watching a cartoon.

The meat of the movie, beefing up both the visual and audible signature adult content, PIXAR maintains a happy medium, where kids can follow along as well. It's fast paced and involving, yet extremely easy to follow, and subsequently get lost in. Voice talents in Craig T. Nelson, Jason Lee, and Holly Hunter are on point.

"The Incredibles" is PIXAR's way of flexing their maturity muscle. As this movie is akin to an animated modern comic book movie, with old school comic flare. In typical PIXAR fashion, you come away with a super message. With strong family values and togetherness, you can always overcome adversity, no matter how pressing.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am convinced. PIXAR can do no wrong. With that, I highly recommend this movie to anyone and everyone reading this almost pointless review. Pointless, because the words "Go see it", while as simple as it should be, don't credit the ingenius accomplishments of Bird and crew.

Incredibles, indeed.

mc pee pants
your reviews are kick @ss, dude! i'llbe watchin it tonight.

justinday15
I just want to see it because i heard theres an Episode III preview.

<<Solo>>
First off Great Review Cinnema.
Second The Episode Three trailer is on the movie.
Lastly This movie kicked I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

moonwalker741
it looks good, alot of cgi movies always turn out to be very entertaining..

and also, how was the episode three teaser on the big screen? eek! smile

mc pee pants
this movie was bad @ss! easily the best movie pixar made. yes... it was batter than NEMO.

Emma718
really? it looks good

Cinemaddiction
The Episode 3 trailer, on the big screen, was killer. I was sitting there almost shaking, it was so cool.

As for the movie, easily better than "Nemo". You have to understand that with Bird, who also did "The Iron Giant" for Disney, they are taking a little more "mature" approach. "Finding Nemo" was safe, had a kid fish as a main character, yadda, yadda, yadda. This time, with "The Incredibles", it revolves around a family, but they are superheroes. Violence comes with the territory. There's gunplay, and lasers, and fighting. It's all tastefully done, no blood and such.

It may not seem like it, but given the adult appeal in this movie, the fact that it's still safe for kids to see too is just an accomplishment beyond belief. Even more so than "Toy Story".

Probably going to see this atleast once more.

This is one film I am looking forwards to immensely when released here later in the month!

vaya_the_elf
I'm very excited about this movie. Hopefully I can see it next weekend. Can't this weekend I'm to sick. sad

<<Solo>>
It was that awesome, After getting back from the Incredibles I went and watch Star Wars Ep.I....So Awesome....So excited.

And yes, The Incredibles was easily better then Nemo. But I wasn't a big fan of Nemo.

vaya_the_elf
I loved nemo, part of it is that i work at Jacks aquarium and pets. So I know a lot about fish.

<<Solo>>
It just wasn't that....interesting.

Jackie Malfoy
I might go see it.I don't know it looks pretty funny but still alittle stupid. The only person I could see it with is one of my friends. My boyfriend said he would not be caught dead watching that movie.
JM

mc pee pants
and it also dealt with family problems. the typical problems... like a fight at the dinner table and lying to your spouse and trying to fit in with the crowd. this movie is way beyond awesome.

and i didn't get to see the EP III trailer. i was so waiting for it crybaby

<<Solo>>
Well tell your boyfriend he's a mother ****ing ****er.

Only Joking....I guess

Jedi Priestess
THis movie was seriously cute. I laughed my ass off at the kid on the big wheels or whatever that was.

Cine I LOVE your sig. yes

Red Superfly
Your boyfriend is insecure.

darktim1
I thought the movie was great it had great action and I saw the episode3 trailer and it looked awesome dash was my favorite all that running was cool when beat crap out of the security guards.

Cinemaddiction
Drag his ass to theatre, point at the lines of literally HUNDREDS of adults, without children at that, then make him rethink it.

Now, if he can't appreciate the medium, that's understandable. But like Isaid, you get into the movie, you totally forget that in essence, you're watching a cartoon.

laughing So angry. I love it.

Thanks, hun. I had my Anakin sig up yesterday, after geeking out over the E3 trailer, but "The Incredibles" blew me away, so it's my new obsession. Prolly going to make one for Violet, Dash, and Elastigirl, soon.

forumcrew
just saw it, thought it was very very good...

i remember one line that was very adult humor but i cant remember what it was i think it was win elastigirl was getting all the new costumes.. does anyone have any idea what im talking about

MildPossession
Hope you get better soon.

As for Finding Nemo, absolutely loved it. So if this is better, good good!!

mc pee pants
i also loved that mr incredible showed his darkness when he was choking the sh!t out of mirage. very uncharacteristic of a cartoon superhero. and it also amazed me how the emotions of mr incredible just oozed out of the screen when he found out his family died from the plane crash. excellent animation, excellent voice over.

cal31
Just got back. Great movie, one of the best of the year. Everything about it was just done to perfection. The animation alone was well worth it, how they put life and the little touches into every character blew me away. This movie comes just about as close to a perfect movie for any age as you can get.

powerfulone1987
This movie is the best. It will be one of the movies that remain close to my heart for all times, just like Monsters Inc.

BadKitty
I watched this movie tonight and am convinced like cine that pixar can do no wrong and this is their jewel in there crown! I was so entertained and amused and in complete awe of the animation I can't imagine who could not like this movie!

also I had no idea the epIII trailer was showing with it and I am not huge fan of the new star wars movies, but I quite literally was like "holy sh*t!!* the trailer was so thrilling I couldn't believe it!

sing my song
i just got back from it and it was the best animated file i had ever seen!!!!!!!!!! i hope there alot of occers anominatons fro this one...and alot of winingis tooo...oh and this moring on the raido that they are thinking about puting this file in "best picture" there has only been one other animated fime ever and its from disney...can u guess?

Mr Zero
Nice to find we agree about this CA.

Dear lord what a film. The producers of James Dond should hang a collective head in shame - if an animated feature can out bond bond then they are way off track.

Know why I prefer Pixar to Dreamworks? Because, unlike Shrek, Pixar dont feel the need to do kids joke / adult joke / kids joke. They just do what they do at the level of sophistication they want (this time, pretty damn sophisticated) and you either buy into it or not.

No "knowing pop cuture references" - its all self- referential and affectionate: Less parody, more homage.

Iron Giant is a real fave of mine, it felt like a throwback to the grand old days of Disney: So I expected great things of The Incredibles - but I didn't expect anything quite that good. The first real Independent Pixar feature - I see good times ahead for us kids.

Cinemaddiction
Bravo. thumb up

BadKitty
yay! very well spoken Z cakes!! Im so glad you liked the movie as much as I did!

after seeing the incredibles I went and got the iron giant because of Brad Bird ,I read a article about him and that movie kept coming up as one of his major feats..and I loved it!

Emma718
it hasn't yet come out in Australuia yet, i think it comes out Boxing Day

Mandorallen
just search it on google. roll eyes (sarcastic)

but i thought the movie was very good and entertaining. 9/10

powerfulone1987
From an interview with the director of Fantastic 4:

"I'm the biggest Pixar nut in the world, and I can't freaking wait to see it," Story says. "But some of the powers are very similar, and I don't want the public to think we took elements of The Incredibles when it's the other way around."

P.S. By the way, if this movie is successful, what will they call the second one, Fantastic 4 2,lol. I guess they'll just have to think of a subtitle to go with each movie they do after the first, sucks for them.

hotsauce6548
This movie was great. The CGI was awesome, definetly the best so far in a movie.

Now, I loved Finding Nemo, but I liked this even better. The whole story was hot, and there were jokes and content in the movie that weren't exactly for a young age... Awesome for an animated movie. This is definetly one of my favorites of the year.

silver_tears
Im actually suprised, the first review I read for this movie said it was bad confused
Will have to go see and investigate big grin

Cinemaddiction
One power..ONE..is similar, in Elastigirl, which supports the opinion that people looking to make this ****ing ridiculous correlation are doing just that. Going out of their way to bring one film down.

The second will be along the lines of "The Incredibles 2", or "Return of the Incredibles", etc. There's plenty to distinguish "The Incredibles" and "Fantastic Four", aside from the obvious.

V@LL3jOk!D707
How about Violet and Invisable Woman?

Cinemaddiction
There have been TONS of superheros with invisiblity as their super power.

Mr Zero
Not forgetting that The Fantastic 4's Mr Fantastic "borrowed" his bendy power from Jack Coles legendary Plastic man from the 1940's & also Predating Sue Storm by 20 years was Invisible Scarlett O'Neil by Russell Stamm.

Oh I'm such a nerd. Kill me.

powerfulone1987
I wasn't talking about "The Incredibles" sequel. I was talking about "Fantastic 4" sequels. That's why I used the examples: "Fantastic 4 2"

pr1983
great movie, excellent cgi and some funny gags. great voice acting, very few flaws with the movie. superior to monsers inc? very close, but i'd have to say no.

Cinemaddiction
"Monsters Inc" and "Finding Nemo" were too immature for me, personally.

dave123
great film yes recommended to EVERYONE big grin

Fire
saw this one on DVD in black and white a few days back quite good Still Finding Nemo Rules IMO

Mr Zero
Odd. I'd say nemo and Bugs life were aimed at a slightly younger audience (tho bugs still has an edge) - but Monsters Inc - Immature? I just can't see it.

powerfulone1987
I am glad someone feels the same way about Monsters Inc. as I do and likes it so much. Even though I have been saying I liked the Incredibles the most, I really can't decide. I guess I chose The Incredibles, because I am an addict for action movies, but that aside, Monsters Inc. is the winner, if not tied with The Incredibles.

pr1983
the reason i choose inc is because i believe goodman and crystal are better comic actors than nelson(not sure of the spelling) and hunter, and the writing i thought was better, but only slightly.

botankus
OK movie with a very good ending, I might add.

Deathblow
Finally took the time to see this movie today, took my two little cousins to see it. I think I enjoyed it more than them!

It wasn't as funny and satirical as I thought it would be, it's really more of an adventure story. I loved the ideas in it though, especially the layout of Syndrome's lair. Best CGI water effects to date. Only annoyance was that the two best voice actors, Jason Lee and Sam Jackson, weren't given enough screen-time. Way way way better than the crap that was Monsters Inc, best of it's kind since Shrek.

Baby Beast Boy7
i saw the incredible's sometime ago. about a few months ago really. i loved the part where the mom got stuck between 3 doors that was hillarious laughing out loud rolling on floor laughing laughing out loud

G.P
Great film. I really enjoyed it, though I didn't laugh at all. The CGIs are really impressive.

8.5/10

Lord Soth
10/10 Pixar's best movie yet

Mane
I wouldn't go THAT far. It was lacking the originality that Toy Story had; IMO, Toy Story was their best.

Red Superfly
I thought that Dash provided most of the gags, along with that little wierd costume-designer. Syndrome's mannerisms were also brilliant.

People that didn't laugh once during the movie are dead inside.

Deathblow
I liked Finding Nemo and Toy Story better. Kind of childish I know, but they were just more lovable movies.

OT - I was just about to upload a Kill Bill sig I made, but yours is so much better than mine it's just plain embarrassing. Thanks for nothing stick out tongue

miahera
Pixar rules!!! saw it yesterday and I wuved it. big grin I liked Finding Nemo but this was waaaaaaaay better to me. need a sequel to see that baby have a bigger part of the action.

botankus
Unless you left with five minutes left in the film, you can clearly see that the sequel storyline has already begun.

Red Superfly
I don't think the Underminer is meant to set up a sequel. It's a device to show that they have accepted their role as superheroes and can juggle both normal life and their alter egos now. I don't think we'll see the Underminer as the villain in Inc. 2.

*Danii*
Best of their movies so far imo. And Dash was definately the funniest!

Red Superfly
I thought Syndrome was the best character. Dash was the funniest, Syndrome was the best character.

botankus
Yeah, I agree. I think it would be better without the Underminer as the main villain for the sequel.

T.M
OMG this movie sucked

btw.

it isn't just this movie i didn't like i don't like any animated movie's

dave123
yes quite right

miahera
did you know the voiceover was Cliff from Cheers? he's basically in every Disney/Pixar movie. he might make a cheesy side bad guy.

tabby999
just saw the movie, love it, it had such a cool feel to it, a must buy DVD when its released!

Red Superfly
Remember to say hello when you eventually find your way out of that box.

I posted that 4 months ago.

It kind of seems like a different person to me, I didn't even know that it was me that had wrote it until I looked and saw my name.

I definitely have to say that "The Incredibles" is better that "Monsters Inc."
Sorry, but I truly feel that way. I think Boo was just such a special character to me that I couldn't really say that anything was better than "Monsters Inc.", but after buying and watching "The Incredibles" over and over, I just have to come to the complete and honest truth that I believe that the "The Incredibles" is a better movie than "Monsters Inc.", even though that Boo is one of my favorite characters. Sorry Boo.

This is just my opinion so don't take it personally.(Like so many people do and you all know who you are)

I don't think "The Incredibles" required really comedic people to play the voices because this wasn't made to be a mainly comic movie. This movie has a little bit of everything, so I think Holly Hunter and Craig T. Nelson did a very good job and on the hand are also really comedic voice actors.(I really like Holly's voice, it's unique).

"Monsters Inc." on the other hand was mainly a comic movie, and that's why it had to be more funny and have more funny lines.

So I don't think you can really base which movie you like on the how much comedy/aspect of comedy each one had in it. They are two different types of movies.

They say it had been a tradition to have him in every Pixar movie so far, and since they all have been successful they didn't want to break th tradition.

I just think Pixar's attitude is spot on.

They have all the best ideas, and know how to go about it. They are geniuses and long may they continue.

I absolutely adore the whole Incredibles vibe. The way they are caracatured, but also SOLID characters. The CGI is absolutely astounding. They look real, as though you can reach into the screen and touch them. It's amazing because even though they are cartoony designs (again, a sign of Pixar's genius and knowing what it does best) they look so real, if you get my drift.

The story, the wonderful characters. Anyone that doesn't like this film is an idiot.

The Iron Giant, by the way, was also fantastic. I had no idea Bird did that film too. I remember watching it thinking it would be another lame crappy Disney movie, but it was fantastic. It was an unoffical Pixar movie, in a sense.

Dreamworks are OK, I used to adore Shrek, but looking back on it it's just a stream of catchphrases and set pieces and in your face parodies. With Pixar, they draw their own inspiration and make magic out of it. I got kinda sick of the licensed music in Shrek and began to think it was highly unoriginal. The synthesis of technology and good old fashioned storytelling for the modern age is staggerring with Pixar.

The Incredibles was like Star Wars all over again. Scene after scene of eye candy and tight characterisation that drew me in. Not many films are comparred to the almighty Star Wars, but Incredibles was just amazing.

Anyone that doesn't like it, or even worse, doesn't like it because it's animated, is a tool.

powerfulone1987
The way you feel about the movie and the way I feel about the movie are very similar in comparison.
I hate when I read reviews about how someone doesn't like it and have these ridiculous excuses, in my opinion, on why they don't like this incredible movie.
Have you bought the dvd?

powerfulone1987

Well, maybe you haven't heard that Pixar has broken away from Disney. I have been getting the vibe that they won't be making anymore movies, but maybe they can without disney, i don't know but i hope so.

I am not really feeling their next movie called "Cars". It just doesn't attract me and doesn't seem like my type of movie and compared to "The Incredibles" it seems like a step back.

But you never know, cause I felt the same way about Monsters Inc. and a couple years later I got into it and really liked it and bought the dvd, this also happened with Finding Nemo, I love both of them and own both of them.

It's because of "The Incredibles" that I have become such a big fan of Pixar. If it wasn't for "The Incredibles", I would not nothing about Pixar and wouldn't be such a big fan.

Now I plan to buy all of the Pixar movies and even though I am not really attracted the the next movie "Cars", I still plan to go to the theaters to see it and I also plan to buy it. I am sure Pixar will suprise me again and make another movie that I will love and watch over and over again. They surprise me with "Monsters Inc.", lets see what they can do this time.
