Lord Soth
That should show those bastards in Ohio to start using electronic stuff....or if nothing else, get OFF the punch cards! These have caused us to elect an inbred hick of a prejudicial bastard to office twice!

Darth Surgent
No matter what Lord Soth says, he always seems happy to me.

if you believe that article, you should not be allowed to vote, or associate with the public.

Imaginary
Why, RR?

ragesRemorse
Don't you think that the candidates would have the very best sources of the voting ballet's? On the last election, it wasn't even two hours before Bush's people found something to be open for argument and demand a recount. Kerry yielded and gave his concession speech in nearly an hour of having the results. Yeah, i am sure a journalist is going to find out more about the voting ballet's than a hundred people being paid to find the slightest margin of error.

Ushgarak
An even better reason to disbelieve him- he used to write for The Guardian...

eleveninches
Why do they use electronic ballots. Whats wrong with the old system that they use over here, where you simply put a cross in the box next to the person you want to vote for

It is over Bush won.People just has to accept it.Alot are.But others are not.Let it go guys.It is not the end of the world.JM

Linkalicious
it's just the begining of the end of the world...

Jackie Malfoy
Come on guys/Do you think it is really that bad?If you think so.Then that is kind of pitful because inleast we have a president while some countrys don't and are a mess.
We should consider ourself grateful to be able to vote for our president. We are one lucky country!JM

Imperial_Samura
Thats one of the joys of democracy, yes we can vote for our leaders, but that doesn't mean one has to like them. Especially if it seems like they don't deserve the position (Lathem should be PM.....)

Jackie Malfoy
Either side would say no he does not deserve that postion. Both sides can never win.As for me I am happy that he won.And he deserves it more then Kerry does.
Just my thought don't worry!See you around got to get to class before I am late.JM

Linkalicious
why does he deserve it more than Kerry?

What has Bush done to deserve anything other than a foot in the ass?

PVS
bush stole the election.
common sense states that.
whether or not the evidence will surface is another story.
its a scary turn for democracy when your vote may or may not count
depending on which party you support and which machines you vote on.

wow, all errors just HAPPEN to favor bush

Darth Revan
No, we're worse off--we have both a mess AND a president telling us the mess is good. Not to mention all the dumb****s who are believing him. thumb up

I read an article in the newspaper about some guy who was totally uninformed on the election... He knew nothing about either candidate except for that Bush, he thought, would be more suitable to defend the country and win the war in Iraq. After he heard about Bush's economic plan, he wanted to vote for Kerry. What an idiot. roll eyes (sarcastic)

People should have to take some kind of test at the polls to show they know their shit and aren't total dumbasses like that guy. 'Course then somebody'd probably cheat and refuse to let one minority or another in...

Jackie Malfoy
You mean beside the war?I think he is doing a great job as president so far.Why do you think he should had not won?Beside the kick in the (beep) part!
Bush won fair and squre! Why can't you guys accept this?JM

Malfoy, pleas explain to me how you view the war, I would like to see how a 14 yr old sees what is going on, and why you think Bush is doing such a good job.

Jackie Malfoy
I have the same views on the wars like any other older people.Judging the age of someone is not right. We think the same as you guys!I can't say I argee with the war alltogether but I can say is that Bush has mortals and that is what got him to be president in the first place.
If we have a mortal man that loves his country and is willing to get rid of some stuff that been going on for a long time then to me he is doing his job!JM

PVS

KharmaDog
You do not think the same as "us" guys because maturity, education and experience levels are vastly different. I am not saying that if you are young your opinion doesn't matter. What I am asking is the reasons why you support bush. I want to know what a 14 year old feels is important and as to what level you are informed.

Bush has mortals and that is what got him to be president in the first place. If we have a mortal man that loves his country and is willing to get rid of some stuff that been going on for a long time then to me he is doing his job!

What do you believe are Bush's morals and do you know the history of the middle east and the political "stuff" that has happened to put us all in this situation? Having an opinion is great, but everyine has one. It is more important to have an informed opinion though.

Here's an interesting letter from Peter Coyote:

Letter from Peter Coyote on Black Box Voting

Nov 09 2004 22:49:01

There is a bumper sticker I saw months ago that sums up the current state of
affairs in our country regarding what is the biggest news story you'll never
see on the General Media reported. It said "IF YOUR NOT OUTRAGED, YOUR NOT
PAYING ATTENTION".
On Friday I received a phone call from a good friend who works at CBS--I've
known her for years and she is a Producer for some of the news programs, one
well known one in particular. She tipped me off that the news media is in a
"lock-down" and that there is to be no TV coverage of the real problems
with voting on Nov. 2nd. She said similar "lock-down orders" had come down
last year after the invasion of Iraq, but this is far worse--far scarier. She
said the majority of their journalists at CBS and elsewhere in NYC are pretty
horrified--every one is worried about their jobs and retribution Dan Rather
style or worse. My source said they've also been forbidden to talk about it
even on their own time but she was pissed and her journalistic and moral
integrity as what she considers to be a gov't watchdog requires her to speak
out, while be it covert and she therefore asked me to "spread" the word...She
said that journalism and the truth is at stake. She said another friend of
hers, a producer at MSNBC, said that an anchor by the name of Keith Olbermann
had brought it up on his show on Friday eve and the axe came down. He's
atleast fighting back and talking about it on his "Blog", but she said that
people there are worried that he's going to be fired by higher ups. She said
at this point the only way that the "real news" was going to be if the people
started talking about it and made a big enough stink about it to our elected
officials, the FEC, and "noise" to the international media, that our own media
won't have any choice but to cover it. (Yes, this is really happening in the
good ole' supposed "democratic" free press of the US of A). The only place
you'll see this talked about right now is on the internet and on
AirAmericaRadio.

Everyone--this is serious....I can't emphasize it any more than saying if
there was ever a time to speak up and take action it is NOW. If you are
feeling sick to your stomach (like me) about the possibility of 4 more years
under Bush and the future of our country, and yet you feel helpless, here's
your opportunity to take action. Imagine if you saw a loved one drowning--what
do you do? Well, our country's democracy is drowning and she needs us. In an
email I sent you last night, I used the F-word--FRAUD and mentioned to you
that I felt strongly that there is a lot of mounting evidence that this
election was not clean. I say that not only out of a result of my observations
while out in the field as a poll watcher in the key battleground state of
Ohio, I say it with the knowledge and information of reports that have been
circulating around the country in various voting precincts involving
irregularities and problems with the voting machines and numbers not matching
up with the exit polls or actual numbers of registered voters in various
precincts. I've been busy researching this issue and compiling for you below
some details of these reports and where you can get more info:

To believe that Bush won the election, you must also believe:

1- That the exit polls were WRONG...(remember--they have been used for over a
decade and considered reliable)

2- That Zogby's 5pm election day calls for Kerry winning OH, FL were WRONG. He
was within a less than 1/2 % point margin of error in his 2000 final poll and
previous polls for other elections.

3- That Harris Poll last minute polling for Kerry was WRONG. They were also
within a 1/2% point margin of error in their 2000 final poll.

4- The Incumbent Rule #I (that undecideds primarily break at the end for the
challenger)was WRONG.

5- The 50% Rule was WRONG (that an incumbent doesn't do better than his final
polling)

6- The Approval Rating Rule was WRONG (that an incumbent with less than 50%
approval will most likely lose the election)

7- That Journalist Greg Palast was WRONG when he said that even before the
election, 1 million votes were stolen from Kerry. He was the ONLY reporter to
break the fact that 90,000 Florida blacks were disnfranchised in 2000.

8- That it was just a COINCIDENCE that the exit polls were CORRECT where there
WAS a PAPER TRAIL and INCORRECT (+5% for Bush) where there was NO PAPER TRAIL.

9- That the surge in new young voters had NO positive effect for Kerry, even
though it was the largest number of youth voters 18-29 ever and a huge jump
from 2000 and they were over 55% in favor of Kerry. >> 10- That Bush BEAT 99
to 1 mathematical odds in winning the election.

11- That Kerry did WORSE than Gore against an opponent who LOST the support of
SCORES of Republican newspapers who were for Bush in 2000.

12- That Bush did better than an 18 national poll average which showed him
tied with Kerry at 47. In other words, Bush got 80% of the undecided vote to
end up with a 51-48 majority--when ALL professional pollsters agree that the
undecided vote ALWAYS goes to the challenger.

13- That Voting machines made by Republicans with no paper trail and with no
software publication, which have been proven by thousands of computer
scientists to be vulnerable in scores of ways, were NOT tampered with in this
election.

Some Examples: (There are many more, but I won't list them all here--this is
to give you an idea)

- The City of Gahanna in Ohio discovered a discrepancy that gave 4,000 votes
to George Bush. After media scrutiny, city officials have admitted to an
electronic "glitch" that caused the problem.

- In Broward County, FL, errors in software code caused a referendum on
gambling to be completely overturned. The error caused totals to count
backwards after reaching a ceiling of 32,500 votes. The problem existed in the
2002 election as well however the issue was never resolved by the manufacturer
of the electronic voting machine.

- In North Carolina, a Craven County district logged 11,283 more votes than
voters and actually overturned the results of a regional race.

Bush has mortals....laughing

Jackie Malfoy
I get most of my information like you guys from tv newspaper sites my dad.Anyway lets see bush's mortals aresadYou guys are going to flame me for this)
Anyway that he is againt abortion and is not allowing the same sex marriage thing to be allowed. And he has only one wife.Unlike kerry who has two wifes.
That to me is being mortal. Just wondering but what do you think being mortal is?JM

cornponious
I think being mortal means you are going to die some day.

corn

Linkalicious
being MORTAL is being a human being....not a god, or a diety, or some other fictional character.

MORALS....are something different entirely

Jedi Priestess
and now the English translation for that mess above

"I am seriously ignorant. JM"

PS mortal means able to die you dolt.

AND, i didn't get to spend time with my girlfriend...sad
I'm sure she had a great "present" in mind for me shifty

Jackie Malfoy
Uh lets get back to the subject shall we?I meant mortals acouse.Anyway what makes you think that Kerry has any?He does it!Bush has more then kerry does.
For one thing like I said he only been married once he belives in god and hates abortion. To me that sounds pretty good.JM

cornponious
If John Kerry has any mortals, then someone needs to report him to the proper authorities! And that goes for Bush too!

corn

KharmaDog
I get most of my information like you guys from tv newspaper sites my dad.

I search out info, I don't have it fed to me. I do not recieve info from your father or mine even. I get info from "international" papers and sites. I also read opposing parties' viewpoints and check the facts to see who is most likely telling the truth.

That to me is being mortal. Just wondering but what do you think being mortal is?JM

Morals - Of or concerned with the judgment of the goodness or badness of human action and character

Mortal - #1 Liable or subject to death.
#2 Of or relating to humankind; human:

he is againt abortion and is not allowing the same sex marriage thing to be allowed. And he has only one wife. Unlike kerry who has two wifes.

Kerry does not have two wives, he is divorced with one wife. Also you described a set of morals. Everyone has a set of morals, but peoples morals can be different. You just happen to agree with Bush's.

That is why I question your judgement at such a young age. You have believed what you have read and been told as opposed to seeking it out for yourself. You also have a limited knowledge of the world around you and how to express it. That all comes with age and maturity (for most of us at least).

Linkalicious
why does believing in God make you moral?

You can have morals without believing in God. Actually, i feel you can have better morals if you don't believe in God, because you make your morals for yourself, instead of following some pre-determined way to live your life.

God and State are seperate...him believing in God proves nothing. Nor does John Kerry having a 2nd wife.

OMG! he made a bad choice picking his first wife....clearly that makes him immoral.

like lying to an entire nation about WMD isn't an immoral act?

Samurai Guy
Of course not. He believes in God.

Linkalicious
lemme guess.....God told him to lie to his people?

PVS
yes, god told him.
god also told him that over 100,000 (so far) innocent
iraqis need to die, because god hates brown people

...god told him to ignore global warming and forsake
fuel alternatives to oil...because god hates the environment...

and god told bush to rig the election...because god hates the left.

Samurai Guy
I was being sarcastic with my comment. The sad thing about most people (atheists and believers alike) is that they feel that God is responsible for everything.

When something goes right... most times people are too busy to thank God. When something bad happens, God is responsible.

God does not interfere with free-will. God does not make exceptions for believers or good people. Life is life... make what you want of it. The worst thing is that most believers carry out stupid, senseless, and needless acts in the name of their God.

roll eyes (sarcastic)

Sorry, wrong place, wrong time.

Linkalicious
lol, i was being sarcastic too.

Clearly, Bush's conscience, or lack-there-of is what caused him to lie....REPEATEDLY to his people

PVS
...and i HOPE that you all know i was being sarcastic laughing out loud

...or im in for some hate mail

Jedi Priestess
Im sorry sweetie sad Sux when your birthday sux yes

perhaps your sweetheart can amke it all better soon? wink

Linkalicious
not too soon, but i'm sure she can think of something to make me happy. she's amazing...

Back to topic...

I'm glad Kerry didn't win because he's an absolute douche bag, but Bush is still a worst candidate.

Just thought i would say that Bush diddnt lie about WMD, he actually believed they were there. As did Kerry. Bush is still a pussy for not taking the blame though. He is still putting the blame on intelligence, and even brought Kerry into it, by continuously saying how Kerry was for the actions in Iraq due to the intelligence that we had.

KharmaDog
That's where I disagree rages. I don't think Bush believed that there were any WMD's there. For years they had credible sources say that Sadam had dismantled his chemical/biological weapons and his nuclear program. He had very restricted airspace, and not enough money and resources to re-establish a very effective conventional force.

I've have brought it up before, but Colin Powell said it (feb 24, 2001) and Rice backed him up (July 2001) that all intelligence reports show that Sadam Hussien poses absolutely no threat to the United states or even to the stability of the region.

Then all of a sudden (conveniently after 911) all these reports about Iraq's weapons programs surface. Not one report came from a credible source, and not one report has yet proven true. The excuse that we had to go in because Sadam would not let in UN inspectors is a crock o' shit. The american government knew that Sadam wouldn't let in UN inspectors because Sadam had found out that the US had previously sent in CIA agents with other inspection teams. It was for that reason and personal pride (to save face and look strong for his subjects) that Sadam refused the inspections. It was a game that both sides had been playing, and Bush upped the anti pretty damn quick.

Bush had plenty of intelligence and proof that Sadam was no threat, and he knew that there was no terrorist link. That is why many of the world's nations and people (and from what I see many american citizens) are angry.
