please increase the sig limit from 30 to 40k. I hate to make my sigs then lower their quality so much. I can't think of any reason why a small change like that would be any problem.

If you can show me an image that can't be saved at 30k at decent quality, I'll consider upping the limit.

Well I don't want them at "decent" quality thats the thing. I just want 10 more KB's. Would it really that much of a difference to you? Even for dial-up users I dont think 10KB's more will make a large impact.

I put alot of time and effort into my sigs and just want them to be seen at their best.

taking into account that 10 posts per page (40 for me ) and if 10 different people post on there, that's 400kb to be loaded

or 1.6meg for moi

Then all you have to do is reduce the number of posts per page.

The second image was 20k, you still have another 10k to use. Try upping the quality.

Also, the first image is 80k and not 40k.

I wish I could control the quality that specifically but the immediate next level of quality is beyond 30KB.

If you have Photoshop, theres an option to optimize to file size.

BTW The Ones, you might want to remove the smilie spyware from your computer...

there is a box with quality..
and enough is 8
and i had to decrease mine to 3 to make it less thgan 30kb

mine is just like yours, there is no way to fit quality to a specific file size, the scale goes from 1-12, 12 being the highest quality.

Im cool with the sig size, but I'd like a change in av dimensions myself. The way it is now they have to be square. I'd like them to be limited to a certain kb instead of a box. Does that make any sense? The reason I ask is there is a really cool one that I use at tfn but it's wide as opposed to tall. This is it below.

I want to keep avatars a standard. If there was no dimension limit, it would ruin the layout of the page.

Although, if/when I introduce the larger avatar option for the veterans, you should be able to have an avatar like that.

of course they can be rectangular, as long as none of the dimensions exceed 64 pixels.

the numbers all appear to be square numbers...

eg: 8x8=64
and 10x10=100

so the only logical value would be 9x9, which would give us 81 pixels

I was trying to optimize some of the files, taking load of the SQL server.

Looks like things went awry. I've put everything back to how it was, so all should be fine again.
