Rogue Jedi
How bad is racism where you live?

royal_jester
Well you are talking about a subject that will cause some confusion and anger so I rather not answer to protect myself

badkittykitty
it's bad here and every time I think it's getting better something crappy happens to prove me wrong,it stinks!

ChinaNiki
I'm not really sure about here in upstate NY, but in South Carolina it can get pretty blatant. However, my sister prefers to raise my niece, who is bi-racial there, rather than up here near our parents cuz there isn't a lot of cultural diversity in this area.

Rogue Jedi
it is very much alive here in texas. not so much in houston, but there is a small town about 30 minutes from my house called Vidar. man, it is terrible there. they actually have the klu klux clan there!!!!! losers. believe it or not, I was approached by 3 skinheads the other day. they were trying to recruit me!!!! there expressions when they saw my wife (she is mexican) walk up were priceless.

badkittykitty
it's hard to believe in this day and age that people with that kind of hate for other still exist. a few weeks ago there was some young boys on a corner handing out white power cards,I couldnt believe it.

Rogue Jedi
racism = stupidity and inferior genes. too much chlorine in the gene pool.

ChinaNiki
I used to hear so many racist comments when I was working. I wanted to say something so badly, but couldn't if I wanted to keep my job. Sometimes you would hear it from the employees too. Some of them did not think interacial dating was "right" as they put it. I don't get it myself, as long as it's intraspecial what's the problem.

Rogue Jedi
love is love. doesnt matter what race you are. the same with friends.

snlovergirl
i live in florida but my grandparents live in alabama and they have their whole lives. now i love my grandparents but theres no denying they r racist. luckily my father did not turn out that way and he didnt raise me racist either. so when i was 14, we were visiting them on the way to a softball tournament in georgia and i tried on my jersey for them. coincidently i had picked my jersey number to be 42 which is that of jackie robinson. so they asked me why i picked that number and i told them it was jackie's number. they didnt say anything after that. but anyways whenever i think of racism i am always reminded of that, kind of like representing a change in times and im gonna be tellin my children n grandchildren about that onesmile

DemonicGambit
Racism ain't really that bad where I grew up, but my mother was a different story. She freaks, over mixed relationships and even mixed friendships. Thank god I'm outta the house

ChinaNiki
My parents never mentioned race growing up so it was never an issue for us, but my grandparents are a different story. Grandma laments over my niece being bi-racial and fears I'll come home from China with a Chinese boyfriend. Hey, ya never know...my prom date was from India.big grin

GABRIEL05
Yay biraciality! Anyone here biracial? I guess I'm lucky. Seattle is very liberal, and since I'm biracial my parents could care less what race my girlfriend is. It's fugged up. People say interacial couples are sinful, and the work of the devil. They use the law, genes, culture, and even the bible (yeah it's talked about in the bible, it's even mentioned in the Bhavagad Gita) to discourage biracial relationships. I scoff at such tomfoolery myself. My girlfriend is mixed, and it really fugs with some peoples simple ignorant minds when I tell them we're in a quadriracial relationship. That's my favorite shit

ChinaNiki
Well, if people want to talk genes, they should look at the animal world. It's the mixed breeds that are usually the toughest. Purebreds have all sorts of problems. So really, people with several racial variances in their genes are better off.

GABRIEL05
purebreads=inbred

I shit you not in most cases!

at least as far as animals are concerned

ChinaNiki
I have seen places where the people look inbred toobig grin

Vision-of-Death
heya guys...

Hmmm...discussion about racism I see....2 words. The where I come from "SOUTH AFRICA".

enough said !

Celsius
Racism is everywhere! And no matter how much people deny it., EVERYONE is racist to sertain degree, even IF it is the teeniest ammount.

Its pretty common in Australia cuz we are a multicultural society.

Dexx
in romania we kind of have a bit of aperheid against gipsies. But not against the colour of their skin, god forbid..but because MOST of them are bloody thieves. Not all..i'm not generalising. But in a country with that low of an economic level...they're not looked at very good. And it's normal.

This reminds me...i've seen a comercial once and i laughed my asss at it.
it was with a black dude saying (and this is not the exact replication)
"When i am born, i am black
when i grow, i'm black
when i'm sick i'm black
when i'm cold, i'm black
when i'm angry, i'm black
when i'm old, i'm black

you, white boy, when you're born, you're pink
when you grow, you're white
when you're sick, you're yello
when you're cold, you're purple
when you're angry, you're red
and when you're old, you're gray.

and you dare call me...colored?"

very funny

DeNiro
i aint gettin in this topic no way count me out

KidRock
same here DeNiro

skule
perhaps someday we will all put out diffrences aside and admit we are all concerned with race but infact we all belong to the same race..the human race. Then maybe all the crazy wars and indiffrence will findally ends. The End!

Rogue Jedi
that would be great, but i dont see it happening.

skule
not in my life time i think. no

Rogue Jedi
not in any life. too many haters and posers out there.

skule
sad sad..

Rogue Jedi
stupid skinheads, trying to recruit me....what the hell were they thinking?

ChinaNiki
they weren't that's the problem

Tired Hiker
I don't like racism and I only like racist jokes if they are coming from the mouth of the person who is the race victim of the joke. For example, I work in Salinas and my hispanic buddy Hector always tells me Mexican jokes. Then, Will, my African-American buddy will butt in and start telling black jokes. Then I'll bust in with the Polish jokes since I'm part Polish and very white. Then, someone will walk by and comment on how racist we are. I can't agree that three racially different dudes laughing together and at eachother is racist in this context. It's all about context, but still, I'd rather there be no racist jokes anyway. They don't do much good. Racism sucks.

Tired Hiker
I heard Carl's Junior is affiliated with the KKK. Has anyone else ever heard this? If so, one word 'boycott'.

skule
never heard of this, do u have any links etc??

ragesRemorse
about four years ago when i moved down south carolina I ended up going to this private school that was like kindergarden to 12th grade and it only had a 140 kids, but any way Racism was horrible down there, the teachers preached to kids daily in the classroomm about blacks and mexicans shouldnt be excepted in socialism and would always use the N word. I would always tell them to knock that off and being from up north the just called me a dirty yank whos opinions dont mean shit. So not only do they hold racisim true they keep going on about how the south really won the cival war. there was somthin seriously wrong with these people but i eventually got kicked out because so many fights were started with me they started them i only finished them and i got kicked just because i questioned the things they were teaching but im glad i did

ragesRemorse
and hiker thats a beautifull scene, three people of different colors sitting around tellin racist jokes, if only we could all just come together like that LOL

cermiestar
racism is a load of bull....it just doesn't make sense

ChinaNiki
I know where you're coming from ragesRemorse. I was in shock at the blatant racism in South Carolina. I moved down right before OJ killed Nicole and you cannot believe the comments I heard, especially since I share her name. It's still on the boycott list for the NAACP cuz the Confederate flag still sits on the State House grounds even though it has finally been removed from the State House Dome.

cermiestar
there's people at my school who are so damn racist and narrow minded..... i am so fed up i am not going to listen to it anymore, another racist comment and i will flip and then when they go "oh it;s just a joke it's just a joke" i'm going to ask them if they think steven lawrences death was a joke or if black slavery in th US was joke

ragesRemorse
i know what you mean when i lived in columbia S.C there was so much crap being said about that damn confedrate flag hupla, they would always say oh what about southern pride cant we wave our flag for pride? you know what about american pride, the confederate flag goes against everything america is about. I dont care though its to much for to little i believe. And yeah i agree with you about racist jokes being said only as a joke, there still words inspired from hate

cermiestar
what is this thing with the flag? i don't get it....i'm in the UK........

ragesRemorse
when the south and north fought in the civil war, the war that the south lost they waved there confederate flag to go against america, and now the south wants a right to be able to fly there flag with the american flag over the state house. Even though it doesnt embody racism alot of people use it as a symbol for racism and thats got a lot of people arguing and also the fact that it was used to rebel against america some time ago

ChinaNiki
They started flying the Confederate flag over the State House during the Civil Rights Movement. Then when Civil Rights won they didn't take it down. It was up there for 26 years. Now it flies by the momument to the Confederate soldier which is still on State House grounds. So it is still a bone of contention.

cermiestar
oh i get it......are people in south america really racist?

ChinaNiki
Southern America, as in US, I don't know about South America

and it's more evident in some areas than others

cermiestar
yeah ...that's what i mean......but that's so stupid...it's 2003........why are people so backwards?

GABRIEL05
In the south, as in south of Mason Dixon, YES. People are for the most part racist. They are in the North too, it's just not as open and publicly acceptable. Also, in some parts of South America they are very racist. For instance Brasil, take a look at the favela's. Everyone in there is black.

I've heard some horrid stories of how the Portuguese conducted their slave trading. Apparently they were awful economists, but thats way off subject.

cermiestar
jeepers.....

ChinaNiki
i think a lot of it goes back to mentality

anyone who wasn't of Anglo-Saxon ancestry was considered inferior when the US was born and that hasn't changed much for some people

cermiestar
twits......

ragesRemorse
its also parenting, i think parenting has a great deal to do with racism but for the most part hate will always exist in some way or another and now it runs strongly through racism

ChinaNiki
and sexism, and heterosexism, and classism

cermiestar
what is RIGHT with the world.....

ChinaNiki
64 % of undergrads in American universities are women so that's good

someone has developed a straw that can detect ghb or roofies in a drink and that should be available soon

KidRock
more black people up here are racist against white people

ChinaNiki
wher is up here

Tired Hiker
'Movies' my friend. The reason we are all here to begin with. On KMC Forums, that is. wink roll eyes (sarcastic) smile

ragesRemorse
yeah but even movies are starting to suck more and more every day

KidRock

Dagons Blade
As far as that goes,
there is a bit of racism in everyone's lap-take a look at Imperilaist Europe. It led to 2 world wars with the hopes of creating a Europa Universalis under one country. Eine reiche, Eine volken, Eine Fuhrer. That went over like a lead zeppelin...

Everyone mistreated everyone at one time or another. History is full of atrocities, like those committed by the Japanese against the peoples of Asia during WW2, the SS and the Death Camps, the Soviets with the iron Curtain and the Chinese human rights systems. I could go on but it's unfair to say that any one people had the corner on the market.

The Spaniards decmated Central and South America of her Indian peoples.

And yeah, to be fair, America mistreated the American Indian and destroyed them, making them a second class citizen and a familiar stranger in the land they once owned. Nice, huh?

The REAL American citizen reduced to nothing. I ought to know because I'm one of them... mad

ChinaNiki
what do you expect from a country that will not acknowledge that it's longest war was against the Native American?

Rogue Jedi
yeah, we did the native americans wrong. this is their country.

ObieTrice 26
so ur native?cool! i am a tiny bit,but im mostly french

ChinaNiki
i'm a tiny bit french, but mostly i'm dutch

ObieTrice 26
isnt it spealt duestch?

GABRIEL05
I think it's unfair to pick on the japanese because the Chinese did a far more effective job of commiting atrocities against their people than the Japanese ever did wink Just kidding.

Dagons Blade
You don't have to tell me, as I said, I Am Native. Micmac. My people came from Maine, and are related by dialect to the rest of the Algonquin peoples of Canada and the Eastern U.S. seaboard. our relatives in Maine are the Maliseet, Passamaquoddy, and the Penobscot. All are alive and well in varying degrees of health, but they have mostly avoided the by and large of the European crush.

We're also related to the Abenaki (Wobenaki) who were a very big player in the French and Indian War as middlemen in the fur trade. I could go on but there's too much. Let's just say I have lived with my lion's share of the prejudice.

I was warned one time by some guy at a rally for Indian rights, he said to me, "you better watch your ass because everyone is going native."

I turned around, looked him in the eyes, and said "I AM native." and he said "Oh no, not another one". LOL Ah, what are ya' gonna' do?

roll eyes (sarcastic)

Dagons Blade
Just an addendum: the guy was suprised to see I was an Indian when I turned around. He was shooting his mouth off about liberals and Indians getting their way when they open their mouth. Man was he suprised.

Yeah, we got our way alright, when 2 to 3 thousand Cherokee were forcibly marched from Tennessee and the Carolinas to Oklahoma on the Trail Of Tears, and we sure had our way the day the remainders of Custer's 7th Cavalry used us for target practice at Wounded Knee the morning of Dec. 29th, 1890.

We had it made huh? sad

Oh and by the way, you're forgiven. Custer died for your sins. If we're going to talk about racism, let's cover all facets of it. Custer lost, get over it. His own men even hated him.

Oh well.

ChinaNiki
not germany, but netherlands

Dagons Blade
Ducking out of this thread because it's apparent that some people here can't come to grips wth how their own natives were treated. I said my piece, let's leave it at that. And BellaButterfly, if you're bored, don't reply. Stay out of it and let those who wish to discuss it do so. I'm sure there's plenty of places for you to hang around at 2 in the morning, like Clancy's Pool Room...don't waste our time.

Dagons Blade
Just to staisfy everyone's curiosity:

Yes, some Indians have computers instead of casinos. And I am also one of the few pure blood Native Americans who is NOT alcoholic, who is NOT drug addicted, and who has a job.

So while I am officially exiting this thread, I'll remind you all not to subscribe to stereotypes either. Peace out and see you on the boards. Be good to each other. Life is too short.
And I mean that, that's an order!
big grin

Ushgarak
Dagon, this is the off-topic area- NO such rules will be enforced or are expected of posters.

I also can't see a single person here who has failed to get to grips with anything since you started talking so I am not sure where your problem is.

GABRIEL05
Hmmm I'm not familiar with the northeastern Native Peoples. I once did a report on the Isti Seminoli, and their fight against the U.S. Gov, and I learned a lot of backhanded shit about how our screwed people. I did that report my junior year in highschool. Best paper I've ever written everyone in my family loved it. That frickin frackin fat @$$ drunkard teacher gave me a B- because he didn't like it. He was a bigot. Him and his partner in crime gave us textbooks that said shit like "Unlike the disorganized tribes of Africa, China had..." anyway that's a rant, I mean wrap

ash007
Are old racist ideals still apart of contempory thought today? Purhapse not in direct racial supremacy ideas, but ideals that one system or culture is better and it has to show the rest of the world how to do things.

Fire
I wouldn't call it racist. but there is always going to be a dominant (militairy and cultural) society in the world

ash007
man today i feel really depressed

lil bitchiness
There is still descrimination even in modern industrialised sociaties, as well as developing...i think its there...and it always will be in my openion, just less opened!

Fire
ofc. on a smaller (not international) scale you will always have racism, sadly enough it is part of human thinking, one that is hard to get rid off

yerssot
yup, racism will always be there I'm afraid

humans have a way of being absolutly retarded

Darth Revan
Actually the old white supremacist groups like the KKK still exist--I found some guy's website who was a member of the KKK.. He didn't actually say that he was but he had a link to another guy's site who did say it. He had all this crap about how the Jews are planning to take over the world and how black people are inferior to whites--he claimed that because some dude who lived in the 1850's said they were meant it was true. The thing is, that's what everybody thought back then. Even Lincoln thought that.
Anyways, racism and other forms of discrimination will always exist in some places. It is just part of our nature (and the nature of every other intelligent organism on this planet) to fear what we don't understand.
However, racism can go both ways--it seems like nowadays people are so afraid to sound racist that they tend to bow down to people of other races, religions, backgrounds, etc. For example, at my elementary school, they hired this idiot lady to be principal who was a) a b!tch and b) had no business being an administrator. And, she happened to be black.. I'm trying hard not to sound racist here, but it seems like they hired her BECAUSE she was black.. I don't know why the school would have hired her otherwise... Once again I apologize if I sound racist, let me make it clear that I am NOT racist.. I'm just trying to make the point that people nowadays seem to almost be going the other way with this.

Lord Soth
Racism and all other forms of prejudice (religion, sexual orientation, gender) are still alive in our world today, because of fear. Fear is driving the "ideal" person (a white, Christian, middle-aged man) to try an obliterate everything that they don't understand. It makes me sick

Darth Revan
Christianity is messed up... I mean the original ideals are good, but people tend to misinterpret them. Take for example the crusades. The reason they wanted to kill everybody they met who wasn't Christian was because they wouldn't convert to Christianity. They believed that everyone who wouldn't become Christian would "poison" or "contaminate" the rest of the world with thier pagan-ness, therefore they had to be killed. And the worst part is, a lot of people still think that Christians are all moral people. That's about as far from the truth as you can get. Not to say that all Christians are bad either, but just like any group there are going to be some good and some bad people. I'm not any religion but if I had to choose I would be Buddhist. Buddhism is awesome!

Darth Revan
Shit I just thought of something else to add to my little rants--Why do all the conservative assholes who run our country think Muslims are so bad?

Lord Soth
Because we don't understand why the extremists hate us. Why should they hate us? We never did anything to them (sarcasm oozing from my voice)

KidRock
it seems like most african-americans around here are racist toward white people...the would say stuff like stfu white kid or just a bunch of things towards white people and we just mind our own buisness but yea its not the whites racist aganinst blacks its the other way around

Lord Soth
Apparently they feel that they deserve revenge

finti
rasism is around everywhere, with in all races and cultures

yerssot
just to correct you there DR, the crusades, and certainly the first one was not about killing those who don't want to get converted.
It was about freeing the holy land and most definitly free jeruzalem
though it did turn out to be a masacre when their ally (egypt if I'm not mistaken) got to the city first and they still stormed it knowing it was theirs already

Fire
DR every group of ppl has bad and good people in them. not all buddhists are sweethearts as well

cermiestar
everybody makes mistakes..................

christianity isn't racist.....christianity believes that everyone i equal in the eyes of god and that all religions have some truth but only christianity has the whole truth, but theyalso beklieve that non christians can go to heaven "in my father's house thereare many rooms" because it acknowledges that religions turn out good people. and the whole thing about the good samaritan and stuff....all about equality.

yerssot
"and when I will look upon him, I will be seated at his right sight, for I am a christian man not a heathen at his left sight."
-Aegidius Romanus, Primate of Aquitane and Archbishop of Bourges

I don't see THAT as being equal, cermie

cermiestar
well........there's a black sheep in every family....most chrisitians are on track.....that is waht i'm taught at my church anyway....

lil bitchiness
Semi-Buddhist! *points at self* big grin

Did you know that Buddhist arent allowed to be soldiers no

rock

cermiestar
buddhists beliefs in suffering i find are very good...

badkittykitty
wow I just asked another member about Buddhism! I am defiantly semi-buddhist and I am going to look in to it further wink

Gravity Kills
There will always be racism until most "rednecks" wake up and see times change.

note: my dad is a "redneck" so I hear it alot

badkittykitty
your in the north like me..here to it doesnt seem to be as much as a problem as down south.though I think we have more prejudice for other religions rather than race.
people just cant seem to drop their differences sad

lil bitchiness
There is always going to be racism...this is because we seem to believe that we all decend from different ansestors which is all wrong.

Another reasn is that in oder to identify world we stereotype...its not just some people its all of us, we are stuck with it. Unfortunately some peole take stereotype to prejudice and into Racilism sad

Lord Soth
Still, it was about 'liberating' the Holy Land from 'heathen' Muslim Moors

yerssot
yes, freeing the holy land from the muslims, that's what I said

el_barto
You bet ur ass its an issue today man ever heard of the kkk or the nazis?

Darth Revan
Fire---->I know I'm not saying that in fact in one of my posts I actually said that every group has good and bad people in it.

yerss----> I know the crusades weren't originally about killing muslims but they did end up doing a lot of that...

cermiestar---->Like I said, I got nothing against Christianity it just seems like a hell of a lot of Christians are, underneath all those layers of morals they've learned, somewhat selfish... I don't like the whole thing about how if you aren't Christian you go to hell... That just seems ridiculous. The missionary thing is also crap, in my opinion--didn't they ever stop to think that "well maybe these people don't want to be Christian and since God tells us to be kind to everyone no matter what so let's just leave them alone"? Kindness, is after all a major part of the religion. But they just didn't get it, did they? Geez I can't make my point without sounding racist or whatever so I'm just gonna stop now...

lil b---->I wouldn't want to join the army anyways so...

Darth Revan
Yeah, which is great except for the fact that time and time again it has been proven that Christians JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT PART OF THEIR RELIGION! I don't mean "Christianity" I mean "Christians" as in the people not the religion. And another thing, I don't think any religion is more true than any other. You just have to pick one that appeals to you and fits with your ideas.

BackFire
This is not a religious discussion, and don't try to turn it into one or this thread will be closed.

juggernaut26
i don't see what's wrong with religion but oh well i think that racism is still around even though it's not right my friend asked me this (whatever your race is put it into perspective but i'm caucasion so here i go) if you were standing in an alleyway and there was a big black man on one side and a big white man on the other both looking like they would kill ya if they had the chance which one would you go towards?

Lord Soth
Whichever one looked less threatening by way of posture, expression, visible scars or marks, and depending on if one of them was holding a weapon. In which case I'd just taser his ass. Doesn't matter to me what color skin they have

realworlddreams
racism is always gonna b around ( we had 3 racist fights at my school in a week)
as for religion, plz explain y you guys are so touchy about it...its something that is in "General Discussion" all the time, so why not here. if sumone has a problem with it, they make the choice to voice it or not. i dont personally think you moderators should choose wut we decide to talk about...not that im gonna go off an create the religous thread, but if sumone does, i'd like to know why you guys are agianst it.

BellaButterfly
It sure is ... I mean when ppl look at you wrong because your another race or look different.....thats racism...and I 've seen it happen!

lil bitchiness
At University, we have bee thought to put word ''race'' in inverted commas because there isnt such thing as ''race''...we are all biologicly exactly the same.

realworlddreams
i agree, and thats a good point.
lil>well, there are mutants n stuff....i have 3 eyes...so i guess technically...

lil bitchiness
Ah! They might be different and have 3 eyes, BIOLOGICLY they are still the same smile

realworlddreams
the dna coding for having 3 eyes would be different than for 2...
a mutation is a change in the biological (DNA) makeup of a person.

but anyway, thats not important, it was a joke.

lil bitchiness
I know it was...smile

thumb up But im still just saying....

realworlddreams
lol. so much for racism, we got mutants now...
guess its not an issue in THIS forum...
PEACE AND LOVE TO ALL!!

lil bitchiness
I dont think that will happen any time soon im afraid no

And of course there is still in issue of racism...and it will be an issue for a very very long time.

realworlddreams
always and forever.
listen to "anthem" by city high, its kinda like that...talks about all the mistakes made by past generations, and how its up to the youth to fix it.

Fire
ofc there is no such thing as different human races, that idea is pathetic

anywayz rascim still exists today and will continue to exist, it just depends how the rest of the world responds to it. and how it looks today organisations like the KKK and Nazi's are over the top of their power (compared to 40-60 years ago) ofc noone knows what the futrue might hold

cermiestar
well i believe in that and i am a christian. i know i'm not the only one so don't stereotype

Fire
no relegion ppl

cermiestar
sorry....i just don't like tobe attacked and not say anything stick out tongue

Fire
just keep it cool now, or else this thread will be closed

yerssot
yeah, no religion, no politcs, rules are very clear on this

ash007
I belive racsim will be back because alot of people are feeling scared of other people like Muslims since 9/11.
I have a feeling that people will put all muslims into one catogory.

Fire
well ppl are dumb and ignorant, the gouverment should spend more time and money on educating ppl

Vader
Affirmative action is institutionalized racism. People are chosen for a task because of their color not their merit. So yes racism still exist.

kalantiaw
racism never went away in the first place... maybe suppressed to some degree, but it's worse now than it is then, with the world wide web and all... personally i don't get it... how can you hate, discriminate, oppress somebody, anybody just because they have a different skin color than theirs... and religion too... it's the same f@#$% concept... one true god, any way the interpretation goes is an undeniable human right... 9/11 is a major government f@#$ up, it has nothing to do with Islam, it just happens that those a$$h*les that piloted the planes were, plus they were extremists anyways... i don't think all muslims will go to such extremes...

fyi, i'm roman catholic

The Omega

Lord Soth
The facts are irrelevant. The reality is that humanity has made it a big issue. The bad news is that's it pointless, wholly without merit, and that we refuse to let go of it. the good news is that in a few hundred years, the races'll be so mixed no one's gonna care anymore

Darth Revan
Exactly. Most muslims are very moral people, much more so than the "christian" Bush or any of the @ssholes in his administration. The guys who attacked the wtc and the pentagon were MAJOR extremists.

and cermie----> I didn't mean all christians, just quite a few major figures in the past... Sorry if I offended you I wasn't trying to attack you or anyone else.

Lord Soth
The terrorists of Al-Quaeda are all taught the extreme fundamentalist orthodox version of the Qu'ran. Although is says nothing about acts of terrorism, they interpret it that way, and they think it's perfectly moral

Darth Revan
yes

"Peace: the true teaching of Islam
Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. Practices vay within Islam--as in any religion--from country to country and from person to person around the world. But the holy book for all Muslims, the Koran, condemns violence and encourages peace."

I don't know if anybody remembers but there used to be a show called "politically incorrect". I think it was on ABC.. But in any case, ABC kicked it off the air because the host said, quite truthfully, that terrorists are not cowards. Does that make you sick or what? I can't believe that even the major "news" channels are willing to bow to the governments wishes and promote "political correctness". Just one more reason why I should move to Canada.

Lord Soth
As soon as I'm old enough, I'm movie to Ireland, this place makes me want to set something on fire (a very serious oath to my people)

Darth Revan
yes

Just curious, what part of the country do you live in?

Fire
Well Soth for starters it aint races, secondly ppl will always find something to descriminate. The fact that racisme has become a very big issue isn't bad I think, there should be time spend on it a lot of time... ppl should know their own past

There's racism and there's racism. Hurting in any way because someone is different than you. Then you have this sort of normal thing that everyone has. You see someone coming up that acts as you would define "funny" or dresses or whatever and you won't hurt them but you check them for a while.

I thought threads like this weren't allowed due to the fact its about RACISM, a very sensitive subject that has the potential to cause friction between members?

Yeah, so hurry to post your comments...

racism will never end. its immortal in my opinion. dont judge a book by its cover and by this i mean dont think everyone is nice from the outside, inside they might be Satan himself.

h0ck3yh0rr0r
and also dont trust people on the internet, they might be nice and say they are like 24 years old, but really is a criminal and is a 45 year old man that is waiting to kill someone

lol

Very well.....one last bit on the subject.

Racism exists on both sides of the coin-and regardless of the fact that reverse discrimination and reverse racism are NOT punishable, it makes a minority JUST AS GUILTY when they use racial slurs to someone who is white.
I see no reason why blacks (or African Americans based on the level of your P.C.) should use the N word while others outside this racial influence CANNOT. If you want to be a solution to the problem, eradicate any and all forms of racism on BOTH sides, and don't play cultural or racial cards to excuse the use of derogatory remarks.

It's not a case of 'boys will be boys' or 'the way it is..' There's nothing funny about it at all. We have become desensitized to racism because we treat slurs as 'just a word that can't harm us.' Physically, no, but words and remarks last forever in our psyches...

The day we make ALL forms of racism punishable on both white and non-white sides, the better of we'll be because NOONE should discriminate, or use the lack of legally definable punishment for such reverse action as excuse to practice it. Everyone wants fair and balanced punishment for such stuff, let's make it that way, fair and balanced....

We all bleed the same, and if the daily video feeds from Israel, or the blood of 9-11 dosen't point that out, NOTHING will, and I fear what lies ahead...

What I meant was the 'check out who's bored' deal that BellaButterfly posted. I thought it was directed at me...you know some people don't care about stuff, they just file it under W for whatever. I thought I was being disrespected. Sorry to have become so off key there. Anyway, moving right along...

In the city where I live in Canada, I cannot even remotely recall anything that had to do with racism. I think that racism has really gone down through the years.

When I was in school,
I had just about everything said about me, being an American Indian-most everyone assumes all of us are drug addicts and alcoholics, half naked flesh eating savages, all that shit...one of the best ones I heard was someone called me a "Prairie Ni**er." LOL
I had a LOT of fights as a kid because of stuff like this, as well as the many conflicts I got into with some of my teachers over the incorrectness of the history books when it came to American native history..sadly the law makers in la-la land have to rewrite history to prevent offending the 'good ole' boys' who saw it their way.

Anyhow, that's life, and if a**holes could fly I'm sure we would ALL have our pilots licenses at one time or another. By the way, you guys want me to fly, you're buying the gas.

*humbling himself here based on previous statement about a-holes and pilots licenses) stick out tongue wink
