i just bought/read issue one of this series and i am liking the way its going so far...

It's okay.

well, i am just really curious about Sentry and how Wolverine and Spidey will affect the team and all. I really have high hopes for it.

It just arrived, and compared to Dissassembled I thought it was really good.

Compared to Dissassembled how could it not be good?

Spidey has been an Avenger before, and with a new team that seems to have looser conotations, a revolving door to call in specialist superheros for missions that need it, I think he'll fit. With all the happenings in his life, he needs some stability anyways. For Wolverine, I'm hoping it's just about the next stage in his life. He's gotten no answers with the X-Men, why not try something else? The Sentry was the first and best hero in the Marvel Universe, he obviously has some problems to solve, but he's a good fit. I'm not concerned with how any of the characters fit in with the Avengers, I'm curious to see how the they interract with one another and make the team into the "World's Mightiest Heroes"

i had the latest issue of Wizard magazine and Bendis said a couple of interesting things about how spidey will fit in the new avengers

yeah, i read that too, it sounds pretty interesting and i wonder how it'll come across in the comic

I love the way Spider-Man and Wolverine interact too, that should be interesting. I hope this series lives up to my expectations. It should though... I mean i am just so hyped up about the new lineup.

no prob, i like the new avengers team, but i agree with some people on their dislike for certain members, mostly because bendis basically got HIS favorite characters and shoved them in there, i have a feeling that matt murdock is going to be the mysterious ninja guy....he has no eye holes, that would make way for a blind man

I HATE spiderman more than any other character.

I hate spiders, so with 2 of them on the new avengers team, i wont be reading it.

Plus Bendis is gonna ruin Carnage, and pretty much do wahtever he wants. Because hes an ass.

Sentry

Another Superman like character.Superstrenght, Superspeed, invulnerability, light manipulation.His costume looks cool, but he reminds me too much to the Man Of Steel.I prefer Hyperion in that way.
He's a must for a team like this because he's the powerhouse, he's what Thor was when he was in life.

Capitan America

The veteran, the leader, the older, the one with more battle experience, how u cannot put him in an avengers formation?I hope they would make a little bastard as the Ultimate Universe Cap.Anyway boyscout or not a great character

Iron Man

Actually his armor grant him Class 100 Strenght, he's the second slugfest man in the group, and will all his device, his money, his intelligence Tony Stark is a must for the Avengers as Cap

Wolverine

He appears on hiw own comic book, on X-Men, on X-Treme X-Men, put him into Fantastic Four and Defenders and he has been in every Marvel group.How can he be an avenger, he that is the killer, the berserker?
Maybe Logan is going to become less enraged and and more quiet?Maybe he would become a great Avenger?Just check what will happen

Spider-Man

I was waiting for this, finally Spidey become totally an Avenger, with his battle experience, as his combat skill and powers he's a great addiction, yes only Class 10/15 but he has show that he's able to give a run for their money and even defeat strongest opponents.
I would like if he asks Stark to rebuilt the Spider-Armor he use VS the Enforcer second incarnation, cause wear spandex costume doesn't give protection.Wolverine regenerate, IM has great invulnerability, Sentry is in Thor resistance to injury level, Cap wears body Armor and

Luke Cage

The near invulnerable guy, the Power Man, he can regenarate, he possess Class 20 or more strenght, he has experience.He's a good choice, cause now they will show that Cage is also a hero not only a hero for hire

Is he Iron Fist?

Spider Woman

Another being with Spider powers, maybe she would fall in love with the wall crawler?

Hercules

Why he's not in the team, a demigod character in absence of Thor and Wonderman would be a good choice, with his strenght he could be a great addiction and also he's fun to see someone that wipe the floor with criminals and create songs about that

Anyway this team looks nice, but the Busiek and Perez Avengers, with Thor, Cap, IM, Giant Man, Black Panther, Hercules, Wasp, etc. are unbeatable

P.S. With only Sentry and IM as powerhouses this team his less powerful, yes this would mean great battles with sacrifices and heroes that take their powers at the limit, but it would mean they get defeat more times.

i think you should really read about the character before you start judging

veteran? no, leader? yes, older? no, the most battle experience? no, but he is the obvious choice to lead the avengers team, and he is one great character...i mean this as in comparing him to other team members, but he does have all those characteristics to a certain extent


true, he is in alot of comics, definitely not the first character to be glorified to such an extent, but he is the first to be criticized for it, bendis stated in an interview that wolvie has a good reason to join the avengers, we'll just have to wait and see what that is


he's a mystery character, i think he's DD because matt was the only one in the first issue that wasnt stated to be on the avengers team, and the suit has no eye-holes so i think its murdock, unless bendis did it on purpose to misslead


not really, spiderman has fought a good number of his enemies at once and held his ground, wolvie has always fought characters stronger than him, luke and spiderwoman have seen some sh*t, sentry is the powerhouse of powerhouses and he could be used real well in this comic, DD (if he is the mystery character) has had his share of enemies and battles, cap and ironman.....'nuff said

He is certainly older an more experienced than most of them. As he's been around since the start of the modern super hero age, so he's been operating for roughly 10 years Marvel time. And served throughout WWII before that, he's seen more action and has more contacts than any of them. Though some people, writers, and even Rogers himself tries to pass off the image of "I've been fighting the good fight since the 40's" Which is why Thin Man is such a favorite of mine "Shut up Rogers, you spent more years on ice than you ever did fighting the good fight"



Citizen V's suit has no eye holes, yet he isn't a blind guy. It could just be some weird transparent mask/helmet thing. Or it could very well be Daredevil, this stuff can turn either way.

He might have been active DURING ww2, but he was frozen in ice for decades, so he doesnt really have all that much experience, compared to wolverine who has been fighting for centuries

Well i cannot wait for the new avengers to "officially" get underway.

I personally would like to see vision back.....they can re-build him better....stronger.....and faster....or something like that. Not so sure about Spiderman on the team (he screams Loner) Much like wolverine although i am almost sick of seeing him in EVERY DAMN COMIC! The banter between the two of them should prove intersting, much like in secret war. Sentry is a semi-fresh face, lots of potential there. Spider woman, well i always liked her for this team however....2 spiders seems a little redundant. Power man has been on the bench for far too long. I'm glad they are given a brother another chance cuz he is a complete bad ass!!! Iron man well ...it's Iron man. Captain America is the flag bearer (no pun intended) for the group and seems the most natural fit.

I would of liked to see:
Heracules, Vision, Dr. Strange or Wonderman on the squad. Well lets's all hope for a strong Avengers run this time around!!

Havoc you're right, Wolvie possess more experience, but about Sentry you're wrong, i know that he's not an alien and his cells were in a advanced time state, but he's anyway a Supes like guy.

light manipulation isnt one of supermans feats, the solar energy thing is...but just because he has super speed, super strength, and a cape doesnt make him a superman rip off....i mean, doesnt shazam have those exact same features? im differing from my point though, his history definitely makes him stand out of the crowd and thats what interests me the most

It's not like Carnage was really interesting anymore. A psychotic killer with an alien symbiote. We had enough of him in Maximum Carnage. I hope he does stay dead, after all he was ripped in half...in space, and his pieces thrown in opposite directions.

Never liked Carnage. The Ultimate Carnage was interesting though.

I loved Carnage!!! I suppose he was never used to his full potential by writers but i still liked him! He was a very scary charecter

Well, in issue three, which i just read, they did not talk about Sentry or the fate of Carnage, so in that aspect, i was somewhat dissapointed. I hope they will explain what happened to em. Good issue though...

snake-eyes, i have no clue who she could be working for....although it doesnt seem like she works for these people as much as its something else, thats one of the things i like about bendis bringing in these characters, theres nothing to suspect so youre left completely in the dark

as for murdock, he was talking about not joining the team because of his reputation as daredevil, so he probably changes his costume up (the mystery character) so he'll avoid having daredevil affiliated with the new avengers

Oh, those three are overused, but the only one who comes close to Wolverine's level is Spider-Man. Wolverine appears in 4 monthly books, now 5 with New Avengers. Spider-Man appears in 3, and Spectacular is ending in time for him to join NA so it stays at 3. Ironman appears in 2. Cap appeared in 3, but they ended Cap and Falcon.

There seems to be tons of people on KMC who really dislike the New Avengers series so far, but I think its pretty cool.

I did not like Disassembled. It was shoddily constructed, poorly written and poorly edited, just crappily updating old storylines. Wanda going nuts? It's happened before. Bendis is a death monger, the losses in that book had no meaning.

Marvel should have paid Johns a little more to keep him on board. His run was off to a shaky start, but it was getting good, and he had a vested interest in the characters, unlike Bendis who's writing resembles an 8 year olds fanfiction.

"Mom! Mom! Don'tcha think it would be cool if one of the Avengers went all crazy? And then every Avenger ever had to come and stand around doing nothing? Then the Kree attacked! And Dr. Strange came! And then Magneto!"
