Yes, an addiction you must have, whereas an obsession you want

welllllll... obsession is like, more... obsessive! addiction is like... being addicted to antidepressants or pot or something... obsession is like watching lotr every single day.

Well here is my view on it like addiction is something u need like cant live without people are addicted to drugs etc. and obession just for example i am obsessed with weight lifting it is something u need but something u can control but cant stop thinking about

Addiction is physical. You physically feel bad when you don't have whatever you are addicted to. Obsession is mental. Sure the emotional stress can cause physical pain, but it originates in your mind. Does that make sense?

okay, so i looked up the definition of both words.

addiction:

1. an abnormally strong craving
2. being abnormally tolerant to and dependent on something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming

obsession:

1. an unhealthy and compulsive preoccupation with something or someone
2. an irrational motive for performing trivial or repetitive actions against your will

as far as being addicted, i'm not dependent on anything or anyone. at least i don't think.

oh, and obesessions don't necessarily have to be unhealty do they?
