hey everyone,

finally got around to making a thread about country music! i can see that not a whole lot of people here at kmc like this stuff, but i thought i'd put this thread out there to see who was and whose they're fave. let's discuss whose your fave, songs, and so forth. and please, NO BASHING COUNTRY MUSIC AND THE ARTISTS IN HERE!

"concrete angel" by martina mcbride is such a sad song. even more so, more heart breaking, when i saw the music video for it! poor little girl was abused by her mother. when the little girl made a friend with a little boy, her mother found out and beat her to death. she died. at the little girls' funeral, her spirit up rose and was reunited with the little boy and other kids' spirits that were supposedly having resulted from abusive parents. so sad! i always cry!

I love Martina Mcbride and Brad Paisley.

All this new pop country shit sucks.

But Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr, Willie Nelson...those were good times.

Johnny Cash is the only true country I listen to. Plus I like a couple select songs by Kenny Rodgers and I like that one song "devil went down to georgia" though I don't know who's song it is. The next closest thing to country I like is southern rock.

I was never a fan of country till I purchased Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas and now I only listen to the country radio channel on it. "All my exes live in Texas" (by Whitey someone) is an amazing song.

Johnny Cash is by far the best country singer, also quite good as an actor

Johnny Cash is cool, but fo the most part I cant stand country.

I like country. It's only because my mom is from Georgia. My family is really big into the classics and new stuff.

cash is the man, i could listen to him for days

Does anyone have any suggestions for another classic country singer that I might like? I've tried to find other good country but I can never get into it.

I dont like this new country nonsense the likes of garth brooks etc..

I like the outlaw country musicians Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson etc,

And I love COuntry rock, like TheByrds"sweetheart of the rodeo", Gram PArsons, The Flying Burrito Bros, Rolling Stones "Exile on Mainstreet"and all the records by THE BAND

I also like Ryan Adams and Bright Eyes as well as , Grand Drive and The Broken Family Band, oh and Blanche

my dad likes alot of country music..

He is a huge fan of Bob Wills and Ernest Tubb.

well, my daddy left home when I was three, didn't leave very much to my ma and me, just this old guitar, and an empty bottle of booze.....

I love all the different kids of music that there are..... Country AND Western......

did you see what they did on the grammys last night mixing southern rock with country it was great

anybody heard of Bonny Prince Billy aka Will Oldham? not really a country fan tbh but really liking some of this guys stuff.
