The worst sci fi made between 1995 & 2005 was
"Omega Doom" Yuk!!!
I patiently watched the whole film & felt frustrated.
The Worst VFX ; very very bad quality of work in all fields including the plot , acting & sets.
Cant believe it was the same Rutger Hauerr from Blade Runner.
Hottie Shannon whirry was a terrible waste too.
Yuk!!
Dazzler619
I wouldn't say that it was a worse sci fi movie but I was disappointed in Signs because I expected it to be more scary
SlipknoT
Star Wars Episode 1
Star Wars Episode 2
Lost in Space
KillTheLight
Lost in space
Battlefield Earth
and lots more I cant think of right now
nitro-swicked
lost in space<...............shite all of the way!!
T.M
lost in space is as n-s put it 'shite'
as is signs
but u can't forget hellboy or the matrix 2 + 3
Solo
Lost In Space
and definately Battlefield Earth
Silver Stardust
Battlefield Earth was simply terrible.
manjaro
no dude to me it wasnt all that bad...............mayB im weird.
to this day i still cant figure how i was able to sit thru MArs attacks and super nova
DreXor
movie was so cruddy i cant even remember the name, but it's one with alternate "realities" and they got these weapons made from bone ( like guns that shoot teeth ) they pull out of their bodies and junk ...
shame on you people for even making me remember that much of it.
( around the time period of thirteenth floor.. almost same plot )
ragesRemorse
Man that was one of the best sci fi movies out there. Your talking about existenz. That is a must for any sci fi fan. It tried accomplished what the matrix tried on an intellectual level.
DreXor
seen it, wasn't too thrilled w/ it especially after matrix, and thirteenth floor, perhaps it was really cruddy timing on their part, or too many "lifts" between the film sets, way too many common grounds between them. and not saying who snagged from who.
Napalm
the last man on planet earth
Cinemaddiction
Most people that say that, never saw the movie, like "Gigli". (Not implying anything, BTW)
That was a TV movie, so I'm not sure that's exactly fair.
Mr Parker
Yeah I agree as well with slipknot.
Silver Stardust
Be glad you never saw it...(and I never saw Gigli either
)
MIL
Theres so many movies more pathetic than "Omega Doom"?
Has anyone seen what I'm talkg about?
And yea episode 2 was crappier than episode 1
Infact episode 1 was ok, not pathetic.
JKozzy
I wouldn't go to the trouble of saying the new Star Wars movies are the worst Scifi... Episode II tried to get its act together, I was just.. random. Of course they're nothing like the OT, but I wouldn't label them terrible.
Cinemaddiction
Dialogue is the major fault of the P.T., that lessens the effectiveness of the individual actor's performances. Lucas has made an ass out of Sammy Jax with his elementary school scripts.
Hmmmm..worse Sci Fi in the past decade would have to include:
Planet of the Apes (remake)
Cube 2: Hypercube
Fortress 2: Re-Entry
Rollerball
Matrix: Reloaded
Matrix: Revolutions
..sure there are tons more, but those were the real stinkers.
T.M
and i agree with ragesRemorse Existenz was IMO great
i really enjoyed it which i was surprised about cause i thought it was going to be horrible.
Soth
As Hellboy is awesome, you can forget it as part of the list
But you're right that Signs is a terrible movie
And the Matrix Sequels are certainly better than the new Star Wars episodes
Cinemaddiction
It all boils down to opiniion, of course. The "Matrix" sequels were too contrived, where as the newest "Star Wars" movies were easy to follow, and not just playing by ear, like the Wachoski's did with their stolen script.
pr1983
star trek nemesis was a big let down imo...
Soth
Stolen? I don't follow
DreXor
they weren't completely stolen, the concepts and structure came from ( i think ) a japanese story series, but the licenses and royalties were paid out, and as far as i know the original writers were involved in the overhauls.
SaTsuJiN
lol... I thought it was stolen from some comic book story
T.M
i don't care what they are stolen from the 2nd and 3rd are rubbish
Johnlindsey289
Do you think Lord of the Rings kicks the crap out of Episodes 1 & 2 and Matrix sequels? and do you think Peter Jackson is better than George Lucas?
Samas-adian
Where the hell did that come from?
Peter Jackson isn't better than George Lucas. I personally didn't like LOTR but compared to original Star Wars is no comparison. Star Wars did alot for modern cinema while I feel that LOTR did not (not saying its a good movie or not). Lucas also has made huge leaps in computer graphics and sound. He also has a hand in some other major films too. If it wasn't for Lucas, the movie industry wouldn't be the same. That's why i feel Jackson is not as good as Lucas.
Speaking of the thread. I feel Solaris(remake) is one of the bad ones.

hey people,
can any of you please help me in my quest to unearth a film i saw on cable about 5 years ago. it was so astonishingly bad it was funny. i dont have the title, or who was in it....just some 'memorable scenes' . First off the plot seemed to revolve around this female scientist creating an army of androids...for her sexual pleasure...although one of them reacts to her advances by knocking her out! The robots eventually escape and run amok in a very low-budget near future USA. blah blah blah.
In one scene, one of the team of hero's has to rescue a friend in need...he looks at his watch and says: "i can be there in 37 seconds!" he then runs off at high speed. (he gets there in 30 secs or something)
in another scene, a big fight takes place in a cramped bedroom, and is very funnily executed. the hero wins by dumping the robot out of the window.
there is also a scene near the end where the brother of the female scientist is set alight by the heroes and merely stares at them calmly from the flames. the 'face' is over imposed on the scene, so his neck looks like its about 3 foot long!
one of the 'invincible' killer robots gets beat up by a fat mexican shop owner.
the film ends with a shot of one of the destroyed robots putting itself back together.
that's all i remember...ring any bells?

Battlefield Earth and the Matrix sequels are the worst movies I've ever seen, except for Catwoman.

Lets not forget that jackson had an entire team of secondary and assistant directors to help him with lord of the rings. Lucas had 20 million and some college kids to help him put his vision on screen
I dont understand how people can say that movies like the matrix or star wars are some of the worst movies. By the standards set, star wars and matrix sequals were indeed below par. However, good filmaking went into those movies. Even if the dialogue and story told was nothing more than a feeble premise decorated in big words and marketing.
ickeris2003
battle field earth, SW 1&2, Jason X was terrible
HECK
What about that direct to video Starship Troopers 2 catastrophe? Not that the first one was anything great, but the second one made it look like Hamlet.
-HECK!

I'd add Godzilla to your list.
ladygrim
planet of the apes .....
Darth_DaNThEMaN
battlefield earth, or the time machine.
Darth_DaNThEMaN
or any star trek movie.
pr1983
Attack of the Clones... pretty bad...
Elrariel
Episode 1 was worse I thought. Darth Maul made it good... but mini Anakin and Jar Jar were... terrible (to say the least).
The worst to me is probably The Matrix or Catwoman perhaps. hehehe
