Any chance that it could be increased? I mean, 30kb is a bit low, especially since the invention of broadband

problem is, lots of members have sigs, and it takes up serverspace
not to mention that not everyone has broadband!

i'm not asking for damn animated super high res ones or anything

and since once you load up the sig once on 56k, it may be a bit slow for the first 5 mins you sign in, but it'll be fine from then on

I still think it'll be a pain to those users

assuming its raised to 40kb...

thats an extra 10kb per user.... assuming they were all to max it out (which wouldnt happen)

now assume that in a thread, everyone that posted was different

thats an extra 10kb * 10 users = 100kb extra

which would take 20 seconds to load (aprx) i couldnt read a thread in that time could you?

I don't mind the sig size, but the 10 lines rule is kinda low in my opinion

most of my sigs are clean under the limit

except the damn wall, that just takes the piss

the 10 line rule was installed because now ppl don't have to scroll downwards 4 pages to get to the next post because of some **** having a lot of stuff written in his sig.

as yerss said the 30k limit was installed because we need the server space and because a certain number of members dont have broadband

personally I wouldn't mind 40 or 50
but the "think of the 56k-people" was always a rason here (and I think Tex is on one of those even )

10 lines? think that's just enough, mine has 8 and it's already big

okie, I just think 10 lines is more than enough, no offence to Phoe but I dont think we want those enormous amounts of text in sigs again

the sig size needs to be changed (sort of)

sometimes, the sig is fine then i add to make it smaller.... and THEN it says its too long

I'd say 500x200 dimensions is fine, and 10 lines can be annoying, but it's acceptable cos it stops the noobs and their 30 line sigs

Well..I for one am against bigger sigs...

I don't mean monstorus sizes
But if you want to go into tags like colour and size and soon glow, hopefully you run out of the ten lines really fast

than don't use glow
