As a child , I remember my friends talking about "Mackenna's Gold" as an epic western. I vaguely remember some scenes of the movie.
Was it really a great movie ?

Probably not, but it did have some interesting casting. Besides Gregory Peck, it had Omar Sharif and Keenan Wynn as Mexican bandits; Julie Newmar (who had a skinnydipping scene), Ted Cassidy, and Eduardo Ciannelli as Native Americans; and Lee J. Cobb, Raymond Massey, Burgess Meredith, Edward G. Robinson, and Anthony Quayle (in his only western) as the men from Hadleysburg.
