eggmayo
Laying back, watching ever single Terminator film in a row.
Will get back to you later on this.

vvvrulz
Haha, sounds awesome !

eggmayo
Just finished watching Terminator 1, what can I say... haven't seen this film for at least a year, and I didn't remember how insanely awesome it was. For once, having Arnie in it didn't screw the movie up. Incidentally, I have a really old version of the film and his name is only in really small letters because no-one will have heard of him.

Anyway, the film.
From the very offset, Terminator grips you, and doesnt let go.
Each set-piece is low key enough for them to get away with, but still manages to be impressive.
My eyes left the screen literally once... in the scene where Arnie cuts his eye out. People who frequent the horror forum know I'm not bothered by gore, but this bit always screws me up somehow.
The three vehicle chase scenes are awesome, closely followed by the Cyberdyne chase.

eggmayo
Im gonna go watch Terminator 2, my favourite of the three, now.

TheFilmProphet
Sounds awsome happy

eggmayo
T2 finished, I'm a little disappointed, I remembered it being better... anywho, Terminator 1 has to be a better movie...

TheFilmProphet
Welcome to "The Resistance" the one and only off-topic/social thread of the Terminator forum. Just keep it clean and don't forget to have fun!! gunsmilie

vvvrulz
Better than T2?

vvvrulz
Hey nice idea TFP, ill start off by b*tching about my recently bought wireless network, which I can't get going !

Konjammenson
I'm depressed as hell and want my life to end. Don't worry, no suicide in plan; I just want to die.

Konjammenson
I myself have been planning a terminator movie fest. Sadly, that means I have to watch T3. But oh well.......

eggmayo
Terminator 1 is a stronger movie, and I decided not to watch T3, it would ruin the other two.

eggmayo
I genuinely want zombies to take over the world...

TheFilmProphet
yeah, lol

TheFilmProphet
lol, how about zombies and cyborgs? cool

vvvrulz
You know what would be cool, if both those things took over the world, I would sit back, heat up some popcorn and enjoy the show on CNN.

eggmayo
With a shotgun ready, of course...

TheFilmProphet
I bet the zombies and cyborgs would take out a few directors first, maybe Mostow and Paul Anderson as revenge. evil face

vvvrulz
And then target Georgie Lucus.

TheFilmProphet
Hell, maybe I would join them too smokin'

vvvrulz
Yeah this all sounds pretty peachy !

TheFilmProphet
So anything else to talk about besides killer zombies and cyborgs who kill famous movie directors?

vvvrulz
Haha true, well I just got myself a computer, 2800 celeron for a cool $699nz. Not a bad deal.

TheFilmProphet
What features does it have? Ex. DVD burner

vvvrulz
Actually its just a CD-RW.

Also 256DDR and 40gig HD.

Its not that great really, but it does the job, the only hangup I have is that its a Celeron, I vastly prefer Athlons.

TheFilmProphet
Sounds cool,

My dream has always been to own my very own movie theatre filled with every film I have ever loved, including the Terminator films.

vvvrulz
That would be awesome, set up a massive speaker system...

TheFilmProphet
And my very own concession stand! smokin'

vvvrulz
What do you reckon about those new cinema's with full dining and lazy-z boy chairs, bit over the top?

TheFilmProphet
To me it is, I prefer the classic movie-going experience minus the little toddlers constantly kicking my chair. All these extra features like full dining would distract from the actual purpose of going to the theatres in the first place, which is watching a good movie and eating a bucket of popcorn.

vvvrulz
Exactly, the reason its one big room with only seats and a screen is because people are there to watch the damn movie !

TheFilmProphet
My point exactly, if your going to add in food and lazy-z boy chairs then you should pop in a DVD and watch an old film at home instead.

vvvrulz
Btw, very nice sig TFP.

TheFilmProphet
Thanks, happy

vvvrulz
But, where'd it go, lol.

TheFilmProphet
It took a short hiatus just like the Terminator franchise did between T2 and T3.

vvvrulz
laughing out loud So true !

TheFilmProphet
You still feel like using that sig I made you, or do you feel like its time for a new one?

vvvrulz
I think the sig rocks, but hey if your bored and looking for business, be my guest mate !

TheFilmProphet
If and when I come across a better flames-endoskeleton concept then I'll make another.

So what movie you watch lately?

vvvrulz
The last time i went was Oceans 12, that was crap !

Tell me about it. Contrary to what some people might think {vvv, I'm looking in your direction ...} I absolutely HATED having to make those "welcome" and "farewell" posts. I sincerely hope I don't have to do that again; it's very time consuming!

Ahnold
Don't you think Arnold looks kinda like an evangelist priest in this photo {especially with all that flowing water behind him}:

"Praise duh Lord and praise Jesus! I feel duh power! Come with me if you want to live!"

Ahnold
He looks like he's coughing in this photo:

Ahnold
And am I crazy, or is that a beaver crawling on his head in THIS photo:

Ahnold
"With dis thumbprint, I can now launch nuclear weapons! Thanks, Califohrnia!"

Ahnold
{Spotting former Governor Gray Davis in the crowd}: "Dat's duh one! GET HIM!"

Ahnold
Last one: "I swear that I will not kill anybody".

Ahnold
That last one's for the Terminator fans!

Konjammenson
Arnold is my hero. I would love to meat him someday.

TheFilmProphet
As would I, the closest I've come to meeting him is Lou Ferrigno.

vvvrulz
LOL where do you get these !

Theyre awesome, he seems to have taken his cheesiness from Hollywood and transpired it into real life. Its all one big action movie for him !

TMACalicious
OMG I have to say that the pic with Arnie and David "The Admiral" Robinson has to be the best pic of them all lol!

Arnie, one of my fave actors, alonside The Admiral, the greatest (IMO) NBA Legend ever in one photo!

You gotta love the pic wit Sly and Arnie as well lol

TheFilmProphet
Glad you liked it! Its actually pretty rare because the first I found it was the first time I had ever seen it. Kind of threw it in there on purpose since I knew you were into basketball, so am I.

Detroit came back against Miami, you never know what might happen in the next two games.

TMACalicious
LOL this is turning into an NBA thread!

Fact:
Only 2 teams in NBA history have ever made it back from a 2-0 deficit in the NBA Finals.

But i do hope they come back and win 1 or 2 games, otherwise it'll be too easy for SA. Btw, Manu for MVP! stick out tongue

vvvrulz
Detroit claw back a game !

Somehow... "I told you so" doesn't quite cut it.....

TheFilmProphet
Say, have any of you seen Batman Begins?

TMACalicious
I shall be going to watch it at the imax megascreen right after my last exam on Monday! (YAY!!)

I've heard some really good things about it. TV3 news had a review on it and the only complaint the reviewer had was that the progress at the start is kinda slow.

My mate went to watch it last night, said it was awesome as well.

Can't wait to see it! Batman is the Man lol

Have you seen Batman Begins, TFP? If so, how was it? smile

TheFilmProphet

Yes I have, once during the midnight showing and then again later on Wednesday.

The review you said you have seen in which the reviewer claims the progress at the start of the film is slow may have been said by this person because of the following reason: Some people who view this film in theatres may not fully understand or care for the necessary backstory on Bruce Wayne's character which may cause this viewer to say something like "The beginning was too boring". Fact is though, if you are anyone who is even slightly interested in how Batman came to be then this film will undoubtedly satisfy your needs for a well-developed and in-depth story on the caped crusader.

The film perfectly balances all the elements required for a film of this nature and yet it gives you more than you could have ever dreamed of or expected. Nearly each gadget and object used by Batman is given meaning and reason unlike any film before it. Also, for the first EVER Batman is actually scary and dark, he genuinely seems like a character that would really send fear into a criminal, thug, or any person in general. The story, plot, setting, characters, etc. are all done in a believable and realistic manner that immediately makes the audience forget that they are watching something entirely fictional. I can go on for ages about this movie, but I'll leave it up to you now to go watch it and see for yourself.

TMACalicious
I am absolutely CRAZY about Batman (and Superman). They've been my fictional idols ever since i can remember!!!

Cheers for that TFP! I look forward to watching it on Monday! big grin

TheFilmProphet
Cheers!

I still want to see it in the IMAX although I have to drive about 90 miles in order to go watch it, lol. Originally I wanted to go see Spider-Man 2 at the IMAX when it was released, but this time I'm going to make sure and not miss BB.

vvvrulz
Damn I wanna watch it badly myself.

Was a huge fan of the first two, before the latter two got completely botched.
From TFP's review, this seems to be a timely return to form !

TMACalicious
"Batman" and "Batman Returns" were C.L.A.S.S.I.C.! I love both of them! Esp. Michelle Pfeiffer in the cat suit stick out tongue

"Batman Forever" and "Batman and Robin" however, is a completely different story... sad

Just goes to show you what happens when you take a perfectly good franchise and change the directors... The 1st two Batman movies were directed by Tim Burton, and both were awesome (Michael Keaton as Batman big grin), the latter two were directed by some other director I refuse to find the name of... (with Val Kilmer eek! and George Clooney eek! as Batman!)

Same story goes with the Terminator franchise.

But yeah, from TFP's nice summarisation of his wonderful Batman Begins experience (skilfully written without leaking any spoilers! Cheers TFP! smile), i think it's safe to say the franchise is finally back to it's old glory, if not even more glory! I can't wait!

vvvrulz
Argh, you get to see it on monday...

My last exam isn't till Friday !!!
ARGH

Excellent review, TFP! thumb up

I dunno how you do it! You can somehow grab all the good points (and very few bad points) from the movie and compile them all into one review, which again, does not leak out any spoilers!

LOL, the rubber nipples hahahahahahahahahahaha!

The more reviews i read from you, the more eager i wait for Monday lol!

Wow, you must have really enjoyed the movie, that makes two of us. I completely agree with you the movie deserves nothing less than a 10/10 making it the best comic book film ever made at least in my eyes. I doubt any other comic book film can do better besides a Batman Begins sequel.

I hope you get to see it soon too rulz,

Also if anyone was wondering, the reason I don't have a link to the Terminator forum under my sig anymore is because the last time I updated it, it wouldn't let me place the link apparently I can't have two links.

Konjammenson
I'm going to see it soon. I want to really bad but I've been so busy lately I haven't had the chance. I did see Mr. and Mrs. Smith. That was awesome!
