Yeah, I read the cover and it said something about "EPIC STORYTELLING" or some other lofty claim. I'll wait until I can rent it for free, but it looks to be more "Poor Us. Help pay for our AA and psychotherapy bills!" Metallica propaganda.

I bought it. It was okay. I thought it was short it spots, and to long in others. The part i find most fuked is how Newsted is portrayed in the film. I can't even describe it in words. They serously just created another exband member to have years of bad blood with. Witch none if it seemed to get resolved, or ever will be.

the doc was sort of crap - Lars and James H. fought most of the time... and it always ended with James H walking out and slamming the door....

i liked it very much

showed how close they were to breaking up...and how going into therapy was the only direction they could go after Jason left/ James went into rehab

especially liked the band commentary and the Oslo interviews

but, A yr and a 1/2 is the best metallica dvd

Well, I watched the entire Bonus disc this evening, and I was intrigued and entertained. I know what to expect from the actual movie, which may be a little more telling.

finally seen the documentary! last weekend. had been dying to see it. but everytime it was on tv, i missed it! well, i'm happy now. also seen all the special features. i thought the movie was great. got to learn more about metallica, what they're like, and enjoyed how the documentary humanized them. make them seem relateable in some ways. the special features disc was very satisfying. all of the additional footage where some included metallica talking more about jason newsted and lars talking with dave from megadeath.
