Hide And Seek - Large

This new movie looks awesome too, its about a little girl who talks to a boy named Charlie. But nobody believes he's there because they cant see him, they think its her imaginary friend. But he isnt.

Yeah I just saw the trailer, looks good, but the plot does seem very familiar. Also, Deniro is a great actor, but some of his last couple of films were very bad choices.

I myself havent seen many DeNiro films really, except Meet the parents and stuff.
But the movie looks good, I see where you're coming from with all the 'similar looking' stuff, especially after I saw the Grudge. *bangs head on monitor*

I love Deniro he's one of my favourite actors but looking at that trailer I dont think I'm going to bother to go and watch this,as the plot does look to familair.Movies like that just dont do anything for me.

Goodfellas,This boys life,Taxi driver,Raging bull and Sleepers there all pretty cool movies.

Goodfellas is a must see. But this, this is Godsend all over again.

Casino, Once Upon A Time in America and Godfather 2 are also great.

Another typical thriller with some kid whispering all of her lines, I will not be seeing this one. Looks like every other generic thriller that comes out these days.

The Others wilth Nicole Kidman is the only one I can think of right now, but I know there are others that I just can't think of the name.

robert dinero is always good, but the reason this movie will be good is dakota fanning, she is the most talented child actress iv ever seen in a movie. (she was in man on fire recently, and is in war of the worlds with tom cruise

Robert DeNiro is playing the role of a father whos daughter has an imaginary friend named "Charlie". He dosent worry much about it till people start dyeing. Man It sure looks cool

Oh man I just watched the trailer for hide and seek again, and oh man, what can I say another one, this will 90% have a 'suprise ending' we will be lead to belive that the girl is the killer, and stuff, but proboly jjust some local freak or something, also this is kinda riping of amityville, moviig to a new house and stuff, and I know theres gonna be more rip of stuff from amityville in this one

Robert De Niro should just stop appearing in this type of films. It was bad enough with Godsend and now this....is really not for him.

Your right, all of these movies are using the same formula of Little children whispering in creepy voices to cover up for the fact that the movie sucks, and have no substance to them whatsoever.

She's whispering in almost every scene shown in the trailer.

The plot isn't original at all, some kid who has a "sixth sense" and can see things others can't, and communicates with something or another that's dangerous and killing people (The Ring). It looks like a very typical horror film that will surely have a generic twist at the end "Oooooo, Robert Deniro is the murderer, that's deep".

Its been done a thousand times.

The plot is as follows. David (DeNiro) and Emily(Fanning) lose their mother, making David a widower. They move to upstate New York and to get through the grieving process and move, Emily creates and obsesses over an imaginary friend in Charlie.

It's a real shame that everyone's going to out the cliches in favor of the originality when it comes to kids in Horror movies. Like Haley Joel Osment completely ruined any other young actors credibility in a horror film.

I'm not denying that there may be some cliches, which aren't visible in the trailer, but for anyone to be so naive as to write it off as another "Sixth Sense" movie is totally wrong by the plot alone. If you can find me another movie regarding a kid with post traumatic stress disorder and an killer imaginary friend, I'll eat crow.

That said, I just watched 4 clips and 3 trailers, and the ONLY time she EVER whispered was when she was counting, to herself mind you, (1-1,000, 2-1,000..) per the game "Hide and Seek". That's it and that's all. No other time.

Even some of the best actors have there bad movies.Its not the actually plot thats so much un-original its the whole creepy kid who talks to dead people or spirits or Ghost.Its been done a million times and they just have to give it a rest.

She is seen whispering in the trailers when she's telling the cop "im drawing you....dying"

Im not looking for reasons to hate it im just saying that it looks like crap and the whole creepy kid thing is getting old.

Well obviously it isn't an imaginary friend if it's murdering people, obviously it's either a spirit of some sort or just a ploy to hide the real murderer who would thus be human (either the girl herself or Deniro). Either way, it's a terrorizing being that's killing people that only the girl can see (The Ring, the kid in that movie saw the evil girl, and blah blah).



As I said, this movie doesn't look original in any way, other then small technicalities as to why the girl is wierd, or the ploy that it's her "imaginary friend" who is killing people. Either way, the premise is tired. A wierd girl is the only witness to a being that is hurting/killing people. Not original in the least as far as teh basic premise goes.



I wouldn't call it a Sixth sense clone, but I would call it a very simplistic twist on the current trend of creepy kids in crappy suspense movies with a mindnumbingly simple twist. Basically a rehash, I really can't see this being an exception.



Her voice is not a blatant whisper, but it's kind of airy all the time, as if she's afraid to raise her voice. Talking in a very low, very sollumn voice, just like every other kid in these types of movies.

I can garuantee there will be some crappy twist at the end as to what "charlie" actually is. This much I'm sure of.

For some reason even though it looks like crap I always end up going to the new horror flicks with my friends for some reason.

Well, as I suspected, no whsipering, and it had NOTHING to do with ghosts are haunted houses or any of that shit.

And as I suspected the twist is exactly as I guessed. Extremely shitty and predictable. As usual I guessed it without even seeing the movie. They just don't try anymore.

I didn't like Secret Window much, either, though.

Just because the ending is 25% predictable, doesn't mean the movie wasn't enjoyable. If that were true, Horror/Thrillers would have been done for years ago.



"Identity"? Not hardly. "Identity" had the same ending as "Frailty". "Hide and Seek" had an ironic turn of events and kept pretty much everyone guessing until the end.

More like a Fight Club twist.

I thought it was okay. I've seen worse. Robert DeNiro and Dakota Fanning really saved the movie. They were both great.

What was the deal with the drawing at the end?? I was sitting in the theater with my two friends as the credits were running, "WTF is the two heads supposed to mean???" I could imagine if she was drawing Robert DeNiro. But she drew herself.

Schizophrenia is hereditary. That's the only conclusion I could come up with from the ending.

Yeah, whenever the ending is as hyped up as this one, you gotta know there will be a twist in it. Apparently, the studio released the movie minus the last half hour or so. On the opening day, they released the rest of the movie. They didn't want people giving away the ending if they had an inside-look (if you work at the theater or something).

I'm curious, did anyone get/rent the DVD? How were the alternate endings? Any better than the theatrical ending?
