Fifty Cent and Eminem have revealed their possible connections with the game. Fift Cent said on an interview that he was working on the soundtrack to the next GTA game, and Eminem's people apparently turned down an offer somewhere, because he wanted to sign with Rockstar.

In GTA 3 you were just some guy, and the reason you said nothing during the whole game was to make it feel more like you as you were playing, not someone that they made up. GTA 4: Vice City was the one with you as Tommy.

I don't know who you will play as in GTA 5: San Andreas, but it might be Maccar, like someone else said.

GTA 4 will not appear on consoles untill the PS3 hits the shelves according to Rockstar themselves, this is what "The Games Master" magazine said some time in 2003.

They said none of these consoles we have at the moment can handle what they have planned for GTA 4, the true sequel to GTA 3, vice city and san andreas are side stories of sorts to tie us over untill GTA 4 turns up.

I have seen release dates for the end of the year. I would think that they wouldn't want to wait a year and a half to bring out another game. Graphics don't really matter in GTA, so I don't think they would think it was that important to wait for better graphics.

they have good graphics anyway.. baring a major problem which i dont see, they should be quite good at making this game by now.. itll be out for christmas

I never said anything about graffiks nor did rockstar or games master, but you are correct they dont matter but i think it is being held back because of what they want to do to it (graffiks to the side) which makes me think "what are they planning for gta 4 on the station3 ?" .

That`s correct GTA San Andreas isn`t GTA4, GTA4 will not appear on any of the current consoles as said by rockstar themselves, all the gta`s we`re getting on the station 2 are like side story`s of sorts to tie us over untill GTA4 comes out on the station3 not station2 or the box or the cube but station 3.

My friend works for Rockstar and earlier in the year he was sent to Las Vegas for a week purely to take photos of buildings for inclusion in the game.

ummm, GTA3 = #3

vice city = V3.1 (it just had extra guns and different layout)

San Andreas = #4

but #3 was supposed to be called: Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City. but instead it was called number 3 so GTA 5 is San Andreas

no..... Vice City is NOT number 4

it is based on the same game engine, they just added bikes, guns, did some minor modifications and called it Vice City

therefore it is GTA 3.1

so in your logic san andreas is 3.2 they just added some stuff and called it san andreas right?

but if they have built it from scratch, with only IDEAS and not DATA from the GTA 3, then it is NEW, and will be GTA 4

Actually...GTA VC was a Prequel to GTA 1, yet there is also GTA London 1969, which is even more of a prequel, but made years before.

So we have...:

well that is kind of a time line of sorts for the GTA series and it looks ok, GTA 4 will not i repeat will not be on the playstation 2 or xbox or gamecube as none of these consoles can do what rockstar want them to do for GTA 4, this was said as i`ve said before by the magazine Games Master (uk mag).

Anyway, it`s stupid argueing over this as we should just be happy with GTA 3, VC, GTA SA, then when the station 3 arrives then and only then will we get GTA 4, i will be buyng GTA SA and GTA 4, i l.o.v.e gta3 and gtavc but i cant stand the other ones with cr*ppy top down view, i didn`t look at gta untill gta3 came out.

GTA 3 to me is the best one so far, what i hate is those who prefer VC because it has bikes and choppers, that doesn`t make it better as GTA 3 the whole city was better designed than vice city was and is, it wasn`t as big as vice city no but it`s quality over quantity with GTA 3.

Not in the least.

GTA VC had much different gameplay. The controls were the same, yes. But in VC you could answer your cell phone, you had more choice in what to do, and it had much more goodies...IE change of clothes.

You bone head its coming out 21 october 2004 (GTA SA i mean) and PS3 dont come out until Feb 2005 so it has to be on PS2 (its not for any other consoles because all the GTA games are PS2 Exclusive until 1 or 2 years after its released (hence Vice City and GTA 3)

San Andreas is like vice city they are side story`s to the main gta 1 2 3 and soon to be appearing on the station 3 GTA 4 storyline, gta sa isn`t gta 4, if by your way of thinking that means GTA SA should be like gta 6 or 7 as there are side story games set in london and vice city and san andreas but there isn`t as they dont count towards the mains storyline as they are side storys.

well if u look at the vice city box it doesnt say #4 so he means officialy numbered vice city and san andreas will not be 4 5 or 6 because thye dont have numbers and then later GTA 4 will come out and be very different

san andreas will be a better game but halo 2 could be more entertaining and longer playability because it is multiplayer.. san andreas added a good bit of sims like features giving you even more control of your character and you can swim!

In my opinion San Andreas will be the better then Halo-2. But I think that no one should diss either game until they are RELEASED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then you can say whatever and how cool they are. Or how much they suck.

GTA:vc dominated the G4 awards but I was never to engrossed by it. hopefully SA flesh's out the story. then I will pay more attention to the series

better in what sense? they are totaly different games.. if you like multiplayer better then halo 2 wins hands down..

This is going to be one of the most awesome games ever! I've got this reserved and will be playing it immediately. Five times the size of Vice City.....

I was under the impression that it's three times the size of Vice City, but either scenario is wonderful.

Total area is a supposed to be five times as much as Vice City because of all the countryside.....

Its being reported that there's three times as much content with missions.

Whatever it ends up being, this game is going to demand a lot of my time.....

any news of it coming to PC or Xbox like the other two GTA 3's?

and how they've mananged to fit all the new content into a disc for playstation is mind blowing.

I'm not sure about the disc but I think its a DVD-ROM. As for the it being ported, it will in time. I suspect SA will be on X-BOX about six months after the initial release like Manhunt was. Probably then or little after for the PC release.

I finally know how to rob houses. Most of the credit goes to my sister. Anyway to rob houses its just like any other vigilante missions, like the police taxi, etc. The car that you need to rob rich places is a moving truck so find one and hit r3.

You would mostly want to rob in the night because you don't want any eyewitnesses and if they see you 911 on you faster then you think. Find your target, if you want big money try to rob rich neighborhoods like Los Santos Vinewood and Rodeo.

After you pick your target you have to find a way to
bust in the houses. If you have a bat, gun,or anything
I would only use them when your robbing victim runs
to the telephone then if you aim at them they could throw
their arms up. So before you do any of that stuff go to
a valuable thing like a tv, vcr, stereo , anything that you can carry, then go to the car and put it in the back.
After you got the junk that you want its time to go to the
local fence - its a guy thats willing to pay money for your hot goods from you.

Thats that...money is a hard thing to get

So here goes,
There are three main cities in San Andreas which are: San Fierro (based on San Fransisco and the largest city)

Las Venturres (based on Las Vegas and the final town of the game)

Grand Theft Auto Advance for Nintendo will come out October 19th, same day as San Andreas for PS2. I still don't know when it comes out for XBox, it won't come out for a long while on it.

There will be a patriot or hummer. No word on military vehicles like tanks and stuff (in time there will be). There will be jets, but no military jets with machine guns (it's just not official yet for some reason).

Still nothing on seaplanes, sea helicopters, sailboats, jet skis, or harley davidson types of motorcycles. The dinghys or motorboats should be used alot in the San Fierro city. I sent in all the official vehicles for now to this site.

The Jacob Air Passenger Jet I told you about is actually called the Juank Air Passenger Jet. You can eat and excersise.

The more you go to the gym the better your fighting gets.
Gangs: Orange Grove Families (OGF, your gang), The Ballas (your rival gang), Flats, the Triads. Your gang is in the ghetto in Los Santos. The Ballas is the rich gang in Los Santos. The people who live under their turf where all the fancy clothes. The Flats are one of your rival gangs.

I think the Triads are a mexican gang with those lowriders.
Missions: Menace, Drive-by, Reuniting The Families, Country-side missions, San Fierro missions, etc.
Characters: Carl Johnson (CJ, you), Sweet Johnson, etc.
Controls: On foot, By Car/boat/helicopter/bike, Swimming, Eating, Excersising, Shooting.
Stores: Sporting stores, Rich stores, Ghetto stores. The sporting stores include anything you need to rob houses, they're probably the best clothing stores there.

Different gangs will 'expect' you to wear the right stuff. For example, right at the start you can get some very cheap ghetto-like threads which are the only clothes you can afford.

Wearing the allows you to do missions for Orange something something gang.

Once you earn enough money, you can go to a more expensive clothes shop to get more stylish threads, and work with richer gangs.

Finally (im pretty sure anyway), you can go to a very expensive shop to get hugely stylish clothes that go along the quality of Nike and Adidas.

While im here, you might like to know that you can get all sorts of different tattoos to look super cool.

You can eat play basket ball and get hair cuts, change or buy clothes work out in the jym walk in the desert go into buildings houses you can build a *caseano.

The line runner which is from Vice City you can have a trailer or a tanker and you can jack knife easy.

You can swim ride trains not drive you can't beat any body in the day without someone seeing you.

It's harder to steal vehicals on the street.

I just want to tell everyone. I've finally heard about a water vehicle this game will have.

It's a motor boat. They should also think about getting a sailboat and stuff.

Some more bikes I learned about are racing dirtbikes and mountain bikes.

There's also a new official air vehicle (along with the dodo, police helicopter, and small airplane), I forgot what it was called.

The new Grand Theft Auto game will be known as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

The new GTA game will be Sony PlayStation2 Exclusive.

The Official Game Description from Rockstar Games:
Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas... a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption.

Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers.

Now, it's the early 90s. Carl's got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster.

On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of corrupt cops frame him for homicide. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets.

The game will be based around "Recent Films" relating to the Californian gangster theme.
The GTA style innuendo's will return, bigger and better than before.

Characters
Carl Johnson - The main character and the gangster who the player will control.

Kendl Johnson - Carl's sister. Not much is known about her as of yet but she is always arguing with Sweet.
Smoke - A family friend of the Johnson's who also takes his place in the Orange Grove Families Gang. (Left)
Ryder - Another friend of Carl and member of the Orange Grove Families Gang.
Old Reece - Carl's Barber. The guy who will be in charge of giving you all of your wacky hair styles.

The City / Map
The state of San Andreas is made up of the cities; Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
The three cities from above will be named Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas in the game.
Each city is the same size as Vice City.
The entire game will be about Four to Six times bigger than Vice City.
San Fierro will contain hills and will be more driving based.
You can drive from Los Santos, through the countryside, up a mountain and into San Fierro, then onto Las Venturra.

Driving through the desert will be vibrant and alive with weird things to see.
There will be tumble-weed in the desert.
The game will contain photographs and digital images as textures.

There will be Lakes, a Mountain, Farms and Fields plus more in the countryside.
The map is so big players will get lost frequently.

Buildings / Places
There will be a lot more buildings with open interiors.
The only loading times in the game will be a short pause when you enter buildings!

Pay N' Spray
Orange Grove is the name of the area where Carl and his gang will live.

Graphics
The graphics engine has been tweaked.
Smog will be present in Los Santos, and real-time reflections on cars, windows, and mirrors, as well as new techniques like radial lighting, which allows for more realistic shadowing, and soft-shadow lighting for interior levels will be present.
Everything in the game now has independent models for day and night to give better lighting and shadowing.

Shadows can be used to hide yourself, to help pick off unsuspecting enemies.
Real sunlight is simulated, and shadows are placed where they would really be.

There are different sets of lighting for day and night which helps create a more realistic feel.
Weather effects have been added to.
There are various things to do and places to see in the countryside, such as farms which keeps the game feeling alive.

Vehicles will accumulate dirt and rust as you play through the game.
The HUD will be similar to that of GTA3 and Vice City.
There will not be as many 'pop-up' items while the player is moving throughout the game.

Trees will be rendered as a group from distance, but rendered separately as the player gets closer. This allows a much bigger draw distance.

Game Play
The game will have rag-doll physics, or “Impact Animation” in Rockstars words.
In the Las Venturas city, you will be able to buy and build a casino and then run it you can then gamble your money in the casino.

You need to eat to retain your stamina. If you eat too much fast food, you become fat and pedestrians mock you for being fat. You also run slower and vehicles move slower.

Beating certain missions is almost impossible unless you're in the right physical shape. To remedy this, you can go to a gym to exercise.
You can now rob homes. The robberies will require skill and planning, however.

You can recruit gang members and use them to do four person drive-by’s.
Being a Gang Member only makes up about 15% of the total game.

Carl Johnson can visit Old Reece (The Barber) and get his hair cut into numerous different styles which the player can decide. Pedestrians and characters will make remarks on your hair, depending if it looks cool or un-cool.

Carl and the Orange Grove Families can take over areas and generate money from them. This is just one of the many things which can add to the replay value even after the game has been 'completed'.

Swimming is now a part of the game, if you drive a vehicle into the water, you have two choices, climb out of the window and swim to shore, or stay in the car and sink, where you will have a certain amount of underwater stamina. Swimming will also be involved in some missions.

There are parts of the game where you will work as a gang, and parts where you will work alone.
The game is now very non-linear, and depending what choices are made, it will be rare for 2 players to have the same type of game. The missions will be the same, but so much can change depending on choices you make.
There will be In-Breds and Degenerates in the Countryside and some missions will reflect the contrast between the towny and the country people.
Characters have more bones which results in numerous different facial expressions.

There are now many more ways to complete missions. You could run straight in shooting, or sneak through the shadows and pick off the enemies one by one.

When the player only has one wanted star, hiding in the shadows should be enough to throw police off your trail.
The player must tap the X button on the bike in order to pedal faster.

The camera will automatically zoom behind the player at the touch of a button and the player then has the ability to freely target using the analogue stick. The auto-target will still be a part of the game though.


The game will take at least three times longer to complete than Vice City.

Weapons
Your character can dual wield pistols, sub machine guns and potentially other weapons.
The choice of weapons will match the weapons of the early 90's.

General Information
The new Grand Theft Auto game will be known as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

The new GTA game will be Sony PlayStation2 Exclusive.

The Official Game Description from Rockstar Games:
Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas... a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption.

Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers.

Now, it's the early 90s. Carl's got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster.

On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of corrupt cops frame him for homicide. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets.

The game will be based around "Recent Films" relating to the Californian gangster theme.
The GTA style innuendo's will return, bigger and better than before.

The game will use a Dual-Layer DVD because Rockstar have already filled up a full DVD disk!

Release Dates
USA and Surrounding NTSC Areas: October 19th, 2004
UK and Europe: October 22nd, 2004
Australia: October 28th, 2004

Characters
Carl Johnson - The main character and the gangster who the player will control.
Sweet Johnson - Carl's brother and part of the Orange Grove Families Gang. (Right)
Brian Johnson - Carl's 10 year old brother who was killed in a tragic car accident. Some people blame Carl for his death.

Kendl Johnson - Carl's sister. Not much is known about her as of yet but she is always arguing with Sweet.
Smoke - A family friend of the Johnson's who also takes his place in the Orange Grove Families Gang. (Left)
Ryder - Another friend of Carl and member of the Orange Grove Families Gang.
Old Reece - Carl's Barber. The guy who will be in charge of giving you all of your wacky hair styles.

Eddie Pulaski - One of the corrupt cops who frame Carl for homicide and make his life difficult.
Frank Tenpenny - The other corrupt cop who is always getting on Carl's back.

Cesar - A mysterious Latino character armed with a .45 and a body full of tattoos.

Gangs
Orange Grove Families - Carl Johnson's gang who the player will move with throughout the game.
The Ballas - A rival gang of the Orange Grove Families.
The Flats - Another rival gang.

The City / Map
The state of San Andreas is made up of the cities; Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
The three cities from above will be named Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas in the game.
Each city is the same size as Vice City.
The entire game will be about Four to Six times bigger than Vice City.
San Fierro will contain hills and will be more driving based.
You can drive from Los Santos, through the countryside, up a mountain and into San Fierro, then onto Las Venturra.

Driving through the desert will be vibrant and alive with weird things to see.
There will be tumble-weed in the desert.
The game will contain photographs and digital images as textures.

There will be Lakes, a Mountain, Farms and Fields plus more in the countryside.
The map is so big players will get lost frequently.

Buildings / Places
There will be a lot more buildings with open interiors.
The only loading times in the game will be a short pause when you enter buildings!
There will be buildings in GTA San Andreas called the following:




Pay N' Spray
Orange Grove is the name of the area where Carl and his gang will live.

Graphics
The graphics engine has been tweaked.
Smog will be present in Los Santos, and real-time reflections on cars, windows, and mirrors, as well as new techniques like radial lighting, which allows for more realistic shadowing, and soft-shadow lighting for interior levels will be present.
Everything in the game now has independent models for day and night to give better lighting and shadowing.

Shadows can be used to hide yourself, to help pick off unsuspecting enemies.
Real sunlight is simulated, and shadows are placed where they would really be.

There are different sets of lighting for day and night which helps create a more realistic feel.
Weather effects have been added to.
There are various things to do and places to see in the countryside, such as farms which keeps the game feeling alive.

Vehicles will accumulate dirt and rust as you play through the game.
The HUD will be similar to that of GTA3 and Vice City.
There will not be as many 'pop-up' items while the player is moving throughout the game.

Trees will be rendered as a group from distance, but rendered separately as the player gets closer. This allows a much bigger draw distance.

Game Play
The game will have rag-doll physics, or “Impact Animation” in Rockstars words.
In the Las Venturas city, you will be able to buy and build a casino and then run it you can then gamble your money in the casino.

You need to eat to retain your stamina. If you eat too much fast food, you become fat and pedestrians mock you for being fat. You also run slower and vehicles move slower.

Beating certain missions is almost impossible unless you're in the right physical shape. To remedy this, you can go to a gym to exercise.
You can now rob homes. The robberies will require skill and planning, however.

You can recruit gang members and use them to do four person drive-by’s.
Being a Gang Member only makes up about 15% of the total game.

Carl Johnson can visit Old Reece (The Barber) and get his hair cut into numerous different styles which the player can decide. Pedestrians and characters will make remarks on your hair, depending if it looks cool or un-cool.

Carl and the Orange Grove Families can take over areas and generate money from them. This is just one of the many things which can add to the replay value even after the game has been 'completed'.

Swimming is now a part of the game, if you drive a vehicle into the water, you have two choices, climb out of the window and swim to shore, or stay in the car and sink, where you will have a certain amount of underwater stamina. Swimming will also be involved in some missions.

There are parts of the game where you will work as a gang, and parts where you will work alone.
The game is now very non-linear, and depending what choices are made, it will be rare for 2 players to have the same type of game. The missions will be the same, but so much can change depending on choices you make.
There will be In-Breds and Degenerates in the Countryside and some missions will reflect the contrast between the towny and the country people.
Characters have more bones which results in numerous different facial expressions.

There are now many more ways to complete missions. You could run straight in shooting, or sneak through the shadows and pick off the enemies one by one.

When the player only has one wanted star, hiding in the shadows should be enough to throw police off your trail.
The player must tap the X button on the bike in order to pedal faster.

The camera will automatically zoom behind the player at the touch of a button and the player then has the ability to freely target using the analogue stick. The auto-target will still be a part of the game though.


The game will take at least three times longer to complete than Vice City.

Weapons
Your character can dual wield pistols, sub machine guns and potentially other weapons.
The choice of weapons will match the weapons of the early 90's.
So far we have seen:






You will have an accuracy meter at the top left of the screen, and the more enemies you hit, the better your accuracy will become.

The crosshairs which are aimed at people will change colour depending on how much health the enemy has. Green will symbolise almost full health, yellow represents half health, and red shows the character is almost dead.

Vehicles
There will be 90’s versions of some GTA3 / VC cars.
The following vehicles will be in the game:






Smaller Cars
Quad Bikes
Tractors
Some vehicles are made specifically for the countryside, while others are for the streets of the city.

Artificial Intelligence
Enemy / pedestrian AI will be greatly revamped and they will think more logically. You can't beat someone to death in broad daylight and not have people notice and react.
Your enemies will be smarter, which will make robbing houses take a lot of skill.

Music
There will be a rap station, but there will be a variety of other stations as always.
There will be three times the amount of licensed music than in Vice City.

Hi grand theft auto gamer people..

I found out alot of stuff you can do in the new gta lke you can swim and it is true.

If you and your car fall into the water you have a limited amount of time you get out of the window.

There is suposed to be a montain in the game.

the gta game is supposibly to be too big to be on one disc so the people at Rockstar or some compiny that work with or for Rockstar say that it will be a double disc or like a front to back kinda disk.

You can ride a bike, quad, and you can say you kinda grow in this game you need food and this game is more real that other gta games 4 people drive-bys pull out hiests rob people, houses, banks and other buildings.

Thats all I can think of right now.

SOME SAY ITS 3X BIGGER THAT GTA3 AND U CAN SWIM.

So I love GTA I have all the games and all the books wot come out so just w8 and rember to pre order it because it will go like a shot.

£10 more might come a long way.

Umm..it happened. But who cares?

yes you can have a shit load of saves..

also why is this thread called GTA 4: San andreas...? when its just Grand Theft Auto: San andreas basicly an expansion to GTA 3... GTA 4 wont be out until next gen consols... either way like HALO2 it has been leaked out, it was stolen and is now going around the internet

rockstar already admitted it, and the places you would find something of this nature arnt going to be filled with viruses. its easy to get just like HALO 2 was
