I like my little five minute poems, they are usually better than my well thought out ones! I'll just post them as they occur to me...

Shattered

I gave you my trust when you gave me your word,
Did that cross your mind before you did all you did?
Did you consider how I might feel?
How could I forgive you after this betrayal.

I thought that you loved me, I thought that you cared.
But all of this time you were after my friend.
You held me, assured me, kept me safe from harm,
Then dropped me like a stone after a beckon from her.

Did it give you a high to strangle my heart?
Are you now deaf to my screams still heard?
How could you turn away from me when I gave you my love,
To smile to the world as you stabbed me in the back.

So go to her now, while my heart still is breaking.
Why should it stop you to know that my tears burn like acid inside me?
I am broken to shards.
Nothing remakes the shattered mirror of my soul,
only you can restore me, and you left me in hell.

Alone

I sit alone, within my thoughts,
You cannot find me there.
This is my final solace,
My final sacred lair.

My fragile mind is bursting,
Bursting at the seams.
Although you break my body,
You cannot break my dreams.

I watch you sleep, I cannot breathe,
I know that you will wake.
I love you still, but still I fear,
My peace will too soon break.

As I read each one I was like 'wow..' 'wow!!' 'WOW again!' Seriously, I don't know which one I like the best, they're all fab honey

Way cool. I dig the Dreams poem. (course, i got issues with dreams. go figure.) all around good stuff. and hey, the 5 minute stuff is typically pure inspiration anyway, so fire on, fire on.

I see the things that no one else sees,
The eye of my mind never rests.
Devils and demons, the angels above,
In my thoughts they are free as the birds,
Their chains and fetters in the dust far below.

If you open your eyes, you will see as I see,
The things that mere mortals can't find.
Give me yoiur hand, we will roam like the wind,
Through clouds, sweet heaven and more,
Til no one can find us, yet they seek for all time.

Through the eyes in my heart I see your sweet face,
It lifts me up in my times of great sorrow.
Just to think of your smile is all that I need,
You are there, I can see you, I reach out...

But you're gone.

How depressy am I? But I'm actually really happy at the moment, got my eye on a new lad, no essays to write... oh well, my muse is stuck in depression mode

I sit in my room, alone with my thoughts, and think of the void which has replaced my heart.
I scream without sound for my lost treasures, stopping my ears to the silence.
They call to me, to join them, to lose myself, to forget myself.
I cannot.
I cannot give up that which is me, all I have left is my individuality.
Let me keep my soul.

I feel the sweet light of day on my skin...
It gives me hope, where before there was none.

I breathe in the life-giving air...
It lifts me up, to where earth and heavens merge.

I see the sunrise in its pure brilliance...
It helps me see all things anew.

I hear the dawn chorus, softly, with gentle melody...
It reminds me that simple pleasures last on.

I smell the spring flowers, perfumes on the air...
It reminds me that beauty can come from despair.

I sense the tranquility, in all that is me...
I am centered, renewed. reborn... and free.

hug I'll see if I can find some of my old poetry to post when i am next home... I write them on the backs of envelopes and over old essays and stuff!

I look into the mirror, in photos, my eyes.
I am searching for some sign of life.
Where once was a spark, there is now only cloud,
Ice has ripped at the coals that were there.

The skies of my eyes have become overcast.
The sun never shines over me.
I look up into that which was formerly blue,
Only grey meets my eyes as I cry.

I have lost half my soul, half my life, half of me.
I scream as the voids reach for me.
I see the things that no one else sees,
I have ever since you left me.
