Ok, idiocy aside, I don't see how anyone can support this woman or her obscure views. Sure millions of people buy her books, but hell, millions of people listen to the Howard Stern show that don't even like it.

It's not particularly about supporting her or her views...I think people are more interested in what the ding bat will spew from her mouth next.

If you have read Al Franken's book Lies and their lying liars that tell them he shows you how she misquotes even herself. The good thing about Franken's book is that he encourages you to research his facts to show that he has nothing to hide.

Coulter's books on the other hand are pure crap (oops sorry I meant propaganda) and I have to laugh every time I see her on T.V. making a complete ass of herself.

Yet there seem to be alot of people who believes what she says or rally around her dimwitted banter. I thought that she was just being outrageous to sell books and that kinda scared me, when I found out that people buy into it I became terrified.

Al Franken and Ann Coulter are basically the same thing for me. Different political views, but same goals....trying to sell books and making a profit. That's why I think they are pretty smart for making capital outta their own opinions.

They maybe the same in that they both make a profit off political discussion and their books, but that's where the similarity stops.

Aside from vastly divergent viewpoints. Al Franken attacks you by knowing about the issues and rebuting what people have to say. Coulter just lies and talks really loud, distorts her facts and then just laugh when you prove her wrong.

I've never even heard of her before, and from reading some of her quotes up there, I can see why. Pretty typical shock value mumojumbo.

I can almost garuantee she's just saying all of those things to get attention, or else she's really, really stupid.

i wish people would stop letting jagoffs like ann coulter, mike savage, bill oreilly and rush limaugh get their feathers ruffled with massive doses of paranoid finger pointing jibberish. and so many people eat this crap right up. they believe every goddamn word.
but the real joke of it all is that they're all just fakeass celebrities who profit off of fear, suspicion, and intolerance.

I consider (this will sound arrogant) myself pretty well read and informed, however in Australia her books don't exist, I know virtually nothing of her, nor do any of the other people I know.

I don't see her changing the world with her seemingly tacky, shock a minute views or her books.

It must be nice to say whatever you want and even make stuff up to make a point, yet never take responsibility for it.

It's the same reason why you don't watch Bill O'reilly for serious news, the guy ain't fair and balanced, I'll be the first to admit that much.
6) Helping queers get married. Why can't the uppity queers settle for civil unions? Dictionaries cost money to reprint.
7) Fighting to legalize weed. Who is this helping, please, I'd love to know.
8) Arguing against the war in Iraq. Gee, let's see here, free millions, lose a grand, or free a grand, imprison millions. Hmmm. BTW, for those that think Iraq is going poorly, why don't you check the number of recorded deaths in any other war in the history of wars, even ones where they didn't have many to lose.
9) Fighting the Republican Social Security proposal. Got a better idea? I mean, what the ****, men, what the ****?
10) Defending Soviet Russia. The guys were communists. Shut-up. SHUT-UP. I know you're arguing with your monitor at this point. But they were NOT socialists. They just weren't.

I'm bored, so I'll list each quote and throw my own little backfire type twist on each one. Enjoy.

1) I don't know any liberals who want to give money to crack whores. Maybe you want to explain this one a bit more.

2) - Agreed.

3) - This one just doesn't make sense. Capital punishment, last I checked, was allowed in California. Why would the murderers come here? I'd expect "the most brilliant man alive" to know this.


4) - Yes, because everyone who gets raped is a "crackwhore" and knows instantly after they are raped whether they are pregnant or not. Yes, lets make the woman out to be the bad guy if she gets raped. This sounds like Rush Limbaugh type of dribble. You know, the kind he makes when he's not too busy popping pain killers.

5) - Tell that to conservatives too, they're the ones that listen to Rush Limbaugh and the like. Oh, but I guess him yelling on his AM radio show about the same thing every day isn't obnoxious. Damndest thing.

6) - Strangely enough, this dictionary argument is probably the monst genuinely sound argument that I've heard a conservative make against gay marriage. Sad, but true.

7) - It helps everyone, it makes our prisons less crowded, thus lower taxes, it also will give the government a new way to gain income (taxing pot if it's legal) thus giving them more money that they can spend on a few more nuclear bombs or stealth jets, rather then food for the starving people in the other countries, medicine, and all that useless crap. We all need more nukes and jets, after all. Aids? Cancer? **** that, jets are more important, WE NEED MORE JETS.


8) - Wow, so only a bit over a thousand people have died, guess that makes the war a success, despite the fact that we've found NO weapons of mass destruction, which was the advertised reason for going over to Iraq in the first place. But that's okay, Americans are dying to give democracy to a country that doesn't want it. After all, forcing democracy on a country is totally democratic, freedom and justice for all, even if they don't want it, woohoo.

perhaps it was overly presumptuous of backfire to say iraq doesnt want a democracy. i think the case is...they don't want OUR democracy. i think america as a whole needs to get out of the mindset that we are somehow the epitome of freedom and liberty, and all others pale in comparison.

yeah, healthy competition is a good thing. to say "we are #1" can be healthy for any country. so long as its not grossly exploited by those in power, patriotism can only be productive and healthy. whats wrong with routing for the home team?

however many americans operate under the false assumption that everyone else in the world (non third world i should say) is jealous of america, and wishes they lived here instead, and secretly want a mcdonalds on every street corner. so to impose our (or cheney's) way of democracy would be a gift to them.

well, the trouble is, democracy is not a gift to the people, its something the people take, by force if necessary. would america's history be as rich if democracy was just given to us? well, the good thing is in the end, its will be up to the iraqi people. and so long as the u.s. doesnt back out of its moral obligation of aid to iraq, it may end up...not as bad as we think.

i know this may sound batshit, but i think the only way to solve this problem would be to throw money at it. however the 'throwing' part would involve rebuilding their infrastructure and helping them to eventually become a wealthy and powerful nation. just america's way of saying 'good luck and no hard feelings for us bombing the shit out of you', as we've done before, and very successfully.

instead the new way is to just say 'f*** you' and walk away, like we did
in afghanstan after their soldiers did our dirty work and conducted routine strikes on the soviets forcing their withdrawal...and "STOPPING THE SPREAD OF COMMUNISM!!!!". they were willing to die for the promise we made...you know, FREEDOM...and we not only broke that promise, but dropped them like a brick. and why? because the soviet union was no more. the "SPREAD OF COMMUNISM!!!!!" had ceased, and in the eyes of the u.s. government, afghanistan was rendered useless...apparently it's people as well.

anyway...yeah...if we let iraq go the way of afghanistan, then its just taliban v.2.0.
but naaaaaaaaa....i doubt that will happen anyway. the agenda is not to alienate those who have the most oil, unless they plan on occupying them...but since they are already occupied, its quite the dilemma.
no more 'evil' to fight...just 'the people'. way i see it, cheney and company now have no choice but to kiss the ass of whoever is elected, so that the oil may flow.
